Iphone not showing up when physically connected to Itunes?
I am trying to connect my iphone 4S via USB port to ITunes. It is not showing my device on ITunes for me to access it when it is plugged in. This is my first IPhone so i am unsure if i need to do anything on the actual phone itself in order for it to connect. I have registered the product, if that makes a difference. I just want to be able to transfer files to and from my device. Why is this so complicated? i thought ITunes would easily be able to recognize when i connected my Iphone. Please help!!

I recently downloaded the latest version of Itunes. As soon as that was finalized, my Ipod stopped showing up on the screen when I was in Itunes and I can't sync new songs and audiobooks to it. Song Name Field Not Showing up when Ipod connected to ITunes
I have one of the first IPOD's (15GB). When connected to ITunes and I click on music to see my whole list, it does not display the "song names". I've been through all the help screens, and they say to "check mark" the song name field. When you bring that up, there is NO choice for song name field. My wife also has the same IPOD and it displays the song names just fine...also without an available choice for song name. I have found a work around and that is bringing up the Get Info on a song and copying the name over to the "sort name" field, which there is a choice to display that. However typing this on every song is way to long as I have 3,000 songs in there. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!That's what I thought also, but when expanding the window, it still doesn't show. However on 2 older playlists, when I first got it, the name column shows, but not on the "master list" of all songs, and also not on new playlists.
When I connect my wifes IPOD, same one, it shows up on every playlist and the master. I have had this issue for about 2 years through different Itunes versions. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that when I first got the IPOD I used "music match" instead of Itunes? Or it could just be an issue with the IPOD. I've resisted doing a restore and wiping everything out as I've switched desktop computers and quite a few of those songs are not on my hard drive. I can work around it, but it's a hassle.
I just figured out how to make the song name show, but using the "sort name" field, but now I'm wondering if there is a way to copy the name to the sort name field in a mass conversion instead of doing it one by one. -

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

I am trying to back up and sync my ipod nano to a new pc. When i connect, my ipod shows up under devices, but no music shows up. I saved my library to a flash drive and saved to my new pc, but it will not drop into itunes. How do I transfer my itunes library from and old pc to a new one? I have looked up all the info, but nothing has worked.

IPhone not recognised by laptop (or connecting to itunes)
My iphone has recently been repaired with a new dock (since the other was corroded with water damage and would not allow the iphone to charge at all). I got it back today and after updating my itunes, the softwarde on the iphone (to iO6.1.2) and the software on my Mac, but it is not being recognised when it is plugged in.
I have tried connecting the iphone to two of my friends windows laptops, one of whoms says 'device not recognised'.
I am wondering if this may be due to the repair that took place, but i don't see how that could be logical since my iphone is now charging fine when i connect it to the laptop. Is there anyway that the person who repaired it may have failed to repair it in a way that would allow the iphone to connect to itunes?
Also, is there a chance it could be due to the new software update? My friend said he had trouble connecting his iphone after upgrading, but with a few restarts it worked (i've done this however and still no luck).
Note: I have resarted the iphone (holding down home button and sleep button), tried putting it into DFU mode (but cannot do that since itunes still wont recognise the device), restarted my laptop etc.
Any advice would be appreciated- ThanksThis likely due to the repair, or other water damage not repaired. The fact that the phone charges ddoesn't mean that all the dock contacts are working properly.

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

Are you running the most recent version of iTunes for Windows on your PC? You may be running an older version that is incompatible with the 4s.

If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades. -
My phone crashed and has an icon showing a usb cable and the itunes emblem. when I connect to itunes it does not recognize my phone and treats it as just iphone. when I try to restore about 9 to 10 minutes into the restore the phone turns off and then on and then loses the connection with itunes and at the end of the download it just asks me to restore it again.
Be prepared to lose everything on your iPhone but it should be backed up in iTunes so you can restore from your backup.
