IPhone now for me, then transfer to wife when v2 comes out in 200?
Not sure if anyone has done this yet, but if I were to get an iPhone now for me to use, how hard would it be to give it to my wife and add her number to it when I buy a new iPhone (with my number) when the new ones come out. I have been holding off until such features as voice dial, GPS, 3G and so forth come out, but after having played with one, the urge to get one is increasing. But I don't want to have to go through a lot of hoops to transfer the old one to my wife.

Of course, you could buy a v.1 iPhone for yourself right now, and when a v.2 comes out, you could get that one for your wife and let her cruise at the higher speeds!

Will LR3 beta transfer into LR3 when it comes out?

Getting very frustratedWell I did it! After over 3hours of frustration on the website logging here & there to find someone to ASK a question I eventually called a phone number & a lovely Apple lady answered. With the Serial Number YES they can look up the IMEI number for your (after I answered all the security questions correctly to ensure it was my phone) they emailed it to my registered email with the apple account.
I couldn't look it up as everyone suggested as had lost the phone & didn't have laptop with me that had iTunes (everyone's other suggestion). -
The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one. I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country! These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available. THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!! THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!
Apple can contact me and I will proudly pay for one. But making me wait a month for an unlocked one, puts AT&T, Sprint & Verizon's interests before mine, and that is not right, for it is MY money that keeps you guys in business, so my best interests should come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.
It would, you're correct, have been fairer to release all at the same time, but fairer doesn't come into it: it's business. -
I want to update to iOS 7 when it comes out via iTunes. I gather that I will require iTunes 11.1 to do so, but I recently updated my version (today) to version 11.0.5. Will I be OK or wait until I have a Wi-Fi connection and do it then?
More than likely, the new version of itunes will be released later today in conjunction with iOS 7. But, yes, you can update the phone via WiFi. Make sure to set up icloud and do a back up first.

With Macintosh Computers there is no Finder or Desktop icon for iPhone. Just unplug the iPhone. In iTunes application this is different and you can so-called eject it if you want.

If you purchased it within the last 14 days you can return it for a full refund and then purchase the 5G. Otherwise Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod and purchase a new one.

JonI know I answered you before on this but can't find the thread. Guess you didn't like my answer. Your phone was illegally hacked to unlock it and when you updated the phone it relocked it back to the original carrier. This made the sim you had in the phone useless and therefore it cannot activate the phone. Nothing can be done in these forums to help you fix your problem as it is against the TOS to discuss illegal unlocking or jailbreaking the phone.

I guess you already know the answer to this but yes, you can upgrade for free!!! But there are some issues with 10.0.6 you need to be aware of. Read the associated issues before you upgrade. It may not affect you if you don't already have a bunch of rendered projects though. Good luck!
