IPhone & Now Up to Date - Possible Low Tech Solutions
iPhone calendar problem. My office uses Now Up to Date to organize my schedule. I used to be able to sync NUD with my old Treo, but with my new iPhone it looks like that might not be possible for a while. I thought of a possible low tech solution, but not sure if it will work and since I'm not very versed in applescript, I need a little help. Here's my crazy plan...
The idea is to write an applescript that will open NUD, save a copy of the month view as a .pdf (using that option in print window), save to a folder, open mail, create a new email to myself and then attach the calendar .pdf, send to my email on my iPhone. Then I would at least have a .pdf of my schedule to view on my phone when I'm away from the office. One last hurdle, it would be great if I could set the script to run on a timed schedule (every 2/3 hours)
Am I crazy? Is that possible? If not, anyone have any clever solutions until NUD works with iPhone?

Thanks for the response. I found a "solution" similar to what your proposing...
• Save "archive" of NUD calendar to desktop
• Delete all iCal calendars (I feel like I have to do this because with this method I am creating and importing a completely new iCal calendar everyday. That could get messy fast without getting rid of the old ones)
• Then run apple script that converts the archive file to an iCal file and then imports
• Sync to phone
• Repeat everyday (ouch)
This version will actually utilize the iCal program on my iPhone (unlike my original idea). But as I mention above, it could become painful doing this manually everyday while I wait for the NUD fix.

Low Tech Solution to SL Installation issues.
A few attempts to install SL, though pronounced successful, were obviously not OK.
A "Clean Install" looked like the only way out of this. Beyond my competence,
Decided to have a go with "Archive and Install" with my Original Leopard disks prior to SL installation.
Same result - disheartened. Decided to stay with Leopard.
Then Software Updates provided me with a flood of updates for Leopard.
Began to wonder "What if.."? Snowy looking at me, expectantly.
Had another go, not with any great confidence and Bingo!
Everything OK. Mail as snappy as could be. None of the horrible things happening. Just like having a new machine. Sorry if I sound a bit excited.

I forgot to mention that this would have been impossible without my backups.
Now, if I could figure a way to get rid of the stuff that was saved in the Archive and Install session.
There is a folder on the HD labelled "Previous Systems". It contains a folder labelled with the date of the Archive and Install. Would trashing the contents of the "Previous System" folder solve this? It sounds too easy.

If you are in the USA and have the latest iTunes, you can redownload music via the iCloud beta.
When you do an update, the first step is making a backup. However, the backup does not include the apps themselves or music or some other things. Those get synced back to the iPod from your iTunes library at the end of the update. If those items are not in your library they can't be synced to your iPod.
You should be able to get the contacts and similar stuff back since those are in backup if you have a backup made at the first stage of the update or earlier. Go to Preferences in iTunes, and go to the Devices tab and see the date of the backup(s). If the backup contains the data you want, restore the iPodfrom backup. -
just installed IOS 7.0.2 (11A501) on Iphone now the sound when I play music is too low even when I crank it as loud as it will go. I used to be able to hear it when I mowed the lawn. not anymore. any suggestions?
This should solve the problem
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
It will not erase any of your personal data, just reset the settings.

I was trying to get my personal computer contacts and calendar in outlook on my iphone and ipad. I was told to use icloud. I went to control panel and then icloud and selected my contacts and calendar. Now ALL MY DATA IS DELETED FROM OUTLOOK. Help!!
I was just on the line with Apple Tech support. First of all, I learned that when you link contacts to iCloud, it moves all your contacts to another/new address book...look for aother address books and you will see it. But I found the new address book dies weird things and changes the "Display Names" format. Evidently (per Apple support tech) there is no way to avoid this problem...so I just delinked the iCloud from my contacts. The contacts stayed in the iCloud address book...so I exported them to a CSV (comma separated value) file and saved it on my desktop and then imported that list into my original contacts folder. Now everything is back the way it was...being able to use my contact address book the way I did before. I was surprised that they never considered or realized this problem...but then the tech guy admitted that they really don't have A LOT of experience using Windows PC's.

Here's my steps.
1) Profile named NUD Treo. Has active only the NUD conduit, set to synchronize. I run the sync from the Treo and all changes I made in NUD are transfered to the Treo just fine.

Restore your iTunes library from your computer's backup along with all other important data that should be included with your computer's backup such as your documents, photos, etc.
Important to maitain a backup with any computer platfirm but event more so with Windows due to being very insecure and unreliable, -
On the Apple website, I read that you must run OS 10.6.8 in order to sync the iPhone 5 with the computer. However, in the tech specs on the "Buy the iPhone now" email I received at my .me email address, it listed the OS sytem needed as 10.5.8. Which is it?
In Reply to all fellow Apple fans: It is great that someone found a work-around to the iTunes 11.4 no syncing problem. I think that is fine for the short term. And I am really glad that we customers have a forum to share information and experiences regarding Apple's products. However, as someone here said, we are all customers; and posting a problem here "IN HOPES THAT APPLE READS THESE POSTS" is NOT a way to resolve this issue or any issue.
PLEASE CONTACT APPLE: Apple Service Center: 1-800-275-2273 - Once you get a ticket number then and only then is this documented and then Apple can follow-through and alert the engineers who will fix this.
The "CWA2" work-around band-aid does several things in addition to reverting back to iTunes 11.3.1. :
1) It ensures that Apple continues to know nothing of the problem.
2) It ensures that the faulty code that is within 11.4 remains there and is perpetuated into future versions.
3) It ensures that YOU can never upgrade to future versions. (If the resident faulty code remains and perpetuates)
So once you have reverted back to 11.3.1, the problem APPEARS to have gone away (FOR YOU) but you have not solved the problem.
Again, respectfully,
1) Sending feedback to apple (using the "Report Bugs To Apple" menu item in Safari will get the information to someone, somewhere and add it to the pile of issues, complaints, suggestions, etc.
2) CALLING the Apple service/support Center at 1-800-275-2273 will put you in touch with a real APPLE person who will begin the process of documenting and forwarding this issue on to those who will fix it.
and
3) emailing Apple directly will make sure that they get the information.

I downloaded a Movie iTunes to my ipad and it also downloaded to my iphone now I have over used my data how does this happen
Go into the settings and the app store. there you'll see the options to automatially update purchases. You can turn it off for music or other content. That should keep things from automatically downloading to both your devices.

Apple - get your act together!!!!There's more and likely a software conflict in your phone. The Other contains the informaiton for your software. Restore your device in iTunes and set it up as new WITHOUT restoring a backup.

Now Up To Date and Now Contact Sync with iPhone
I purchased an iPhone after using a Treo 700 with my Mac. All my calendar data is in Now Up To Date and all my contacts are in Now Contact. How do I best transition to the iPhone?
Should I export data from Now to the Apple applications and forget about Now Up To Date and Now Contact?
Any help and instruction would be great. I am ready to leave my treo behind!

My iphone has lost all data when trying to sync with my computor.
I have an pad with most info on, but not keen to sync with that incase that data gets lost!
I joined icloud but cannot retreive from there as its not accepting my icloud account! Help!
If I sync phone with ipad is it likely to work safely to retrieve info as both are apple devices?.ps when syncing it jumps through steps 1 - 4 real fast, i seem to remeber iphone showing the number of tracks transferring and names, but i see nothing? then it sits on 5 saying "waiting for changes to be applied"
