Having recently left O2 because of year's of problems over billing and lack of coverage in my area and moved to Orange - who are brilliant - will iPhone ever be made available on the UK's other popular network? Why the hook up with just one provider? All my family (six members) use Orange and all want an iPhone but we are contracted for another year on very good agreements that we don't want to lose by switching. Can Apple please explain their reasoning for the restriction. We want iPhones NOW.

Apple teamed up with the mobile phone service provider they though was the best value (probably for them as well as the customers). Considering the outrageous amounts of money Apple are supposed to get from the AT&T monthly payments in the USA, I think that O2 were probably the only service provider willing to pay so much.
I doubt it will be coming out on any other phone service provider, as Apple probably signed a contract for exclusivity with O2 which they have a legal right to keep. We obviously don't know the details, so we can't say for sure.
It is also worthy to mention that in France where phone service providers have a legal right to make an unlocked version of a phone available, Orange (Apple's partner for France) have been required to make for sale an unlocked iPhone. Though many people may want to purchase it, the cost of this is most likely far higher than purchasing a locekd iPhone and then unlocking it by one of the tools on the internet (which, as far as I know, is legal in the UK, though it still voids your warranty.)

The only ones who can unlock your iPhone is your phone company/carrier.
You need to contact them and if they offer unlocking for your phone then ask them to unlock it and if they don't, there is nothing you can do. In this case, you either need to purchase another phone that is fully and officially unlocked or you need to continue to use your phone with your current operator.
Contact your phone comapny/carrier directly - they are the ONLY ones who can help you.

IPhone 5s Unable to join home network but joins other networks?

As in the question above, I just got a brand new iPhone 5s that worked perfectly with my home wi-fi for about 5 hours untill it suddenly decided it didn't enjoy being connected to it and immediatly broke the connection. after that I tried getting it to connect - even resetting network setting and restarting both device and router- but still the same message comes up "Unable to connect to 'Network'". I would really love some help on how I can fix this besides going to genius bar or something like that since there aren't any in my country. and I doubt the place I bought it from would give me a refund or replace it. Keep in mind that it still connects to other networks. It's just my home network that it's having problems with. Also, other devices in my house are working just fine with the home network.

If your device is connecting with other wifi devices other than that of your home local wifi/router you need to be thinking strongly about what is going on with the device that you aren't connecting with. How far in distance are you from the wifi at your residence? How old is the router you're using at home? After resetting your network settings have you ensure you took the time to reset the password from your mobile device to match that of your home routers password? If your device is working elsewhere just fine and not at home you may want to start your troubleshooting more towards the router rather than the mobile device.

The Wi-fi on my iPhone 4 does not connect to my home network or other networks that I have used in the past. I noticed this after I updated to version 6. I have tried to reset network settings ;turn off and on wi-fi; reset home network and it's still not working. Is there a fix for this problem?

Try resetting your network settings. Go to General\Reset\Reset Netork Settings. Sometimes this will fix things. If not, what type of router do you have, what network are you running (B, G, N, etc.).,

You need to contact the network provider to which the phone is locked. No-one else can do it for you.

when i was visiting for purchasing this device the sales team told me that the phone is unlocked and can use all around the world with any other network when i'm trying to use it other network it showed that NO SERVICE(at network issue) and then i made a call 2 apple customer support so the executive told me that this device has been locked with VODAFONE UK network. this was the FAKE commitment of sales team also its a CHEATING i must say that.
i'm very much disapointed and dissatiesfied with the APPLE STORE sales team...

I had read that thanks but many happy owners of locked iPhones
claim to have bought from an Apple store they do not actually mean
Apple Retail
Arndale Centre is one of the largest Malls in Europe and every vendor of iPhones is there
Apple retail in UK ONLY sell unlocked iPhones unless you opt for a contract at a reduced price
not something you can do accidently as in sim free in US

The reason why I am trying to get iphone from verizon is because if you buy unlocked Iphone from Apple it is model A1428 and I need A1429 CDMA (uses LTE frequencies that are mostly used around the world). I would buy A1429 GSM but it can be bought only outside US. I have read that A1429 can also be used on GSM without problem.
I was just wonderign if someone knows do I cancel my contract without even inserting verizon sim and activating, or do I need to first insert VZW sim, activate the phone and than after can I cancel my contract.
@kaebfly- I have understood I can cancel contract within 14 days of activation and without returning the phone just pay 350 ETF and the phone is mine.
@21stNow - do you think I have to wait to cancel contract after 14 days?
@ both- when you say off contract do you mean VZW on month-to-month base or unlocked iphone from apple? If you think of later than the reason is the phone model.

Call AT&T and see if you meet their requirements for unlocking the phone. If you don't, then you'll have to purchase a different phone entirely.

Never has or this is a recent development?
If no change after resetting network settings at Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after that, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

An officially unlocked iphone 4 will work with other GSM networks. The ONLY major GSM network in the U.S is T-Mobile ( who are being purchased by AT&T). Currently with T-Mobile you will not get 3G service or visual voicemail with the iphone.

This might sound like a silly question, but are you sure the iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch etc.) are still trying to connect to the same network from your own Airport router, as the MacBook Pros are? If you tap Settings on them, is the network name next to where it says Wi-Fi, the right one?
I've got a weird feeling that either in the past couple of days, a neighbour got an Airport device and hasn't set it up yet (causing your iOS devices to try to help), or that perhaps there's an issue with your Airport router and they're noticing it and trying to help out, while for whatever reason, Airport Utility isn't opening itself on the MacBook Pros like it normally should if there's a problem.
If you open Airport Utility on one of the MacBook Pros, does it report any problems with your Airport device, and can you view/edit the settings on it?
