I have successfully uploaded two ipad only apps using the xcent stuff to resign certifs submitted by duty farm and others and I was able to
UL to store via application loader. Now I have an iphone only build created with packager and I'm getting the invalid codesign error.
I have a feeling that its the way flash has created my iphone only app. I notice in the plist for the iphone only app it has NSMainNIBFile ipad entry
so wonder if that's the problem? I have the correct distribution certif that matches the bundle ID and have managed to get a number of apps
in the store already, but they have been either ipad only or ipad/iphone not just an iphone only app
if anyone has any idea where to go from here

As of now, you can only esign the documents in Iphone if you have received it through EchoSign.

Since I spoke to Dell and reinstalled everything to factory settings on my computer, it doesn't sync my music, but it does sync my contacts, apps, etc. Now, I need to preface that if I buy itunes, they will sync, but I have songs that were down loaded from clip converter, etc. that the computer doesnt recognize and sync to iphone. Is this because they are not purchased from itunes? I never had this problem before my computer crashed. One question I had was do I need to have "sync music" checked off?? same thing is happening to me they tell me to group songs into playlist of 20 and import them manually to see which songs wont sync. this is stupid for to reasons 1 ik the songs that wont update they are the recent ones and 2 i have 2420 songs in my library so it would take for ever

IPhone only Viewer?

Hi there,
I'd like to build an iPhone only app. However, when I select just "iPhone" in DPS App Builder, i receive a message saying that DPS doesnt support iPhone only at this time.
I loaded up a test app onto my iPad and it doesnt display the iPhone folio redition. I havent (nor do I want to) build an iPad rendition.
Please tell me that this will only show in the iPhone section of the App Store and I dont need to build an iPad rendition...
I found this "Click New, select iOS, and then select iPad, iPhone, or both. Click Next." at this page and gives me the impression that its supposed to be possible to create iPhone only apps.

You cannot do an iPhone app only.
The app will display in the iPad and iPhone sections of the App Store.
iPhone only has been requested before, but Adobe (so far) have said that it is not currently on the list of things to do.

I just bough an iPad 2 & sync'd it w/iCloud. Some of the apps don't seem to work very well on the iPad. I was playing a game on the iPad & the touch screen wasn't working all of the time. I hope this makes sense. I would appreciate any feedback.

Theoretically they should be (although there may be some issues with 3G apps not working on a non-3G device)
However you do stand to deal with iPhone only apps being tinier on the screen...as in taking up the middle of your iPad screen. You can tap a 2X button to make them fill the screen, some just look better than others because they were optimized for a lower resolution.
What you want to look for are apps with a + on their download button. THat signifies universal devices that scale up or down dependant upon the device.

ITunes and iPhone 'Remote' app, only plays one song at a time

Using iPhone 'Remote' app to control iTunes on Mac. I click on Albums, select an album, select the first track, it plays and then stops and goes back to the albums list. I've tried every conceivable combination of the little icons for Shuffle and track repeat, nothing changes this, it always plays just the track and select and then it's done, it goes back to the tracks list. Hi, although unchecking tracks is one way to manage what gets put on your device it has other side effects that make it less effective than the use of selected playlists. I generally use unchecking for marking tracks I'd usually want to ignore, such as bonus interview tracks on an album, or podcasts that aren't compatible with my device.
It is much easier to use playlists rather than check boxes to manage the content. There is no need to make a series of ad hoc playlists however. You'll need two, one of which you can throw away later. Create a new smart playlist with the rules *Playlist is Music* and the option *Match only checked items* ticked. Call it Checked. Now create regular playlist and call it, for example, Sync. Select all the tracks in Checked (cmd-A I think) and drag them into Sync.
Now you can go to your main music library and cmd-click on an empty checkbox to check all of your tracks so the unchecked behaviour no longer interferes with playback. Change your sync options so that the device syncs with your new playlist. In future you can manage the content by adding and removing things from this list instead of checking and unchecking them.

HT201272 My iPhone won't download music from iCloud only apps. The songs appear to download, then give a download error message just before it finishes. Also the songs won't transfer when I sync the phone to pc, only the apps.

I experienced the same issue as you have. What worked for me is the following:
Go to iTunes store on your iPad. Under Downloads (the icon to the bottom right) you should see the episode that is causing you the issue. Delete this episode (swipe to left). Then retry. This worked for me.
The workaround is far from ideal and Apple needs to find a solution for this as you are not the only one who reported this issue.

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

You can sync apps as you normally would, but I do not believe this copies over app specifc data (i.e. saved game status/scores).
You can always restore your new device with a backup from your old device.

Thanks for the reply. I did think that could be the case but then other books would also show up as apps on phone but not counted as an app. Maybe book apps downloaded from the app store work in this way whereas books bought from the ibooks app show in ibooks and not as apps.
I guess that would make sense, it must be because they are books but downloaded from the app store rather than the book store so they are visible as an app but don't actually get counted as an app.
Would you think that's the case too?

If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in Settings>icloud), and if the device's batteries still have a charge, the device is not turned off and has not been reset and is connected to the net, then you can try to track it. Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page. Or - on a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app and log into the icloud account. Note: The Find My iPhone **app** does not turn on the service, you can only do that through Settings>icloud.
If the device is listed as "offline", then one of the requirements listed above is not met (like being connected to wifi, or if the device was stolen and the thief reset it).

IPad Genius keeps recommending iPhone/iPod-only apps

I'm seriously annoyed now by the Genius implementation on the iPad..
The selection button clearly says "iPad Apps", but still I get recommendations for tons of iPhone/iPod-only apps.
Is there any way to limit Genius to only pure iPad and Universal apps?
Also I wonder where the "iPad Upgrades" option gets its data from.. I keep getting recommendations for apps that have nothing to do with the apps I have already installed in iPhone versions. Weird interpretation of "upgrade"...
(also, can I please get the "purchased but not installed" search option that the iPad has also on my iPhone? that'd be fab. )
