IPhone only putting out sound to left earbud.

I updated to 5.1.1 and now my iPhone is no longer playing sound out of the right earbud, only the left. The handfree controls and volume buttons work but there is no sound coming out of the right earbud. I tried two different pairs and both had the same issue.
Is this related to the update or did my iPhone (model a1332, 16gb iPhone 4) just quit playing?

I did try a reset/restore on my phone. I went back to the most recent backup before I upgraded and still had the issue of Apple branded earbuds not working. Any third party earbuds worked as I tested two different pairs.
At this point, I have to think that it is a hardware issue with my iPhone. However, I find it odd that only the left earbud works on Apple earbuds and also that the hands free microphone works as well as the iPod controls.
I've investigated every setting that I can in both the iPod menu and the Accessability menu with no luck on rectifying the issue.

  • Card only putting out 1 Chan

I recently bought an X-FI XtremeMusic edition card, and a matching set of brand new Logitech Z-2300's (2. setup). Firstly, the speakers are connected properly, and function 00% because I tested them out with my onboard sound beforehand. I also double checked this with my headphones connected directly to the card and it seems my soundcard is only putting out channel of audio. It passes diagnostics, so im at a loss as to what the problem is.
I ran the speaker connection wizard and when tested it only plays audio from the right channel.
On the plus side, it sounds great for just one speaker. Now if only I could only get the other one working! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Checking the soundcard on another computer if possible would be the fastest way to determine whether the problem lies with the card being faulty or a problem within your computer. Also, you can try clicking on the 'Default' button in the mixer console and see if it hel

  • Why is does audio only come out of the left speaker when I press the latency button....?!?!

    Hello
I have a small problem which I hope someone can advise me on ......
Everytine I press the Latecny button on Logic 9 the audio will stop coming out of the LEFT and RIGHT speakers and only come out of the LEFT speaker ?
Audio sent out of DAW --------> Mixng Deck  ------> back into Soundcard via SPDIF (digital) on inputs 9/10
I am sening al my sounds out of the computer to be summed on a mixing decks and then the 2 channles of audio from the deck is coming back into my soundcard as an digital a signle on INPUTS 9/10.
    Can anyone please advise ..........!?!

Might want to read on what Low Latency mode does + why and when you should use it.
It's basically only used in realtime monitorinr when recording and/or when recording softsynths.
By reading the docs you should be able to figure out why the right side is being muted.
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=41%26se ction=2%26tasks=true
Be sure software monitoring is Off when recording the summed input.

  • How do you get multiple live instruments to put out sound?

I just got a M-Audio 61 keyboard from my wife for our anniversary. I love it and it works great with GarageBand 1.X. I also have a guitar I use with GB. It is plugged in the 1/8 in. mini jack input in the back of the Mac. I however can't get both to put out sound at the same time. Lets say, for instance, that I would play the guitar and my wife the keys. How can I get both to put out sound at the same time?
Thank for any help you can offer.
Your friend in Mac OS X,
    Jose

    Danke Christoph!
I was glad to get your response. I thought I was not doing something right in GarageBand. I'll get GB2 and try out multiple live sources.
    Once again thanks.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • CFP-AO-200 only puts out max current level 4.3mA

cFP-AO-200 only puts out max current level 4.3mA using fieldpoint explorer. The load is 350 ohms resistor.

What is the voltage level of the external power supply you are using? The FP-AO-200 and cFP-AO-200 output load drive capability is based upon the voltage of the external supply that you are using. They each have an internal 3 volt drop. You can use V=I*R to determine the load drive capability. For example, with a 5 volt external supply, you have the 3 volt drop, so 2 Volts/ 21 mA = 95 Ohm load maximum. With a 24 V supply, you can drive the maximum rated load of 1000 Ohms. For a 350 Ohm load, you will need a minimum of a 10.5 Volt supply.

  • When I plug my new Iphone 5s into my car aux it will only play out of the left hand speakers, does anyone else have this problem or have a solution?

When I've plugged my phone into my car auxiliary cable it only plays out the left  hand speakers. If anyone has any ideas or solutions to the problem I'd be very grateful.

there are two ways, usually if u restart the phone it will reset, but the other is going to your system and shut it off manually...

  • My iPhone only outputs audio on the left channel.

Randomly and without changing any settings, my iPhone has started only outputting the left channel of stereo audio, i.e. when I play a song on it I only hear it through the left channel. I've tried different sets of headphones, same story. Also it has stopped responding to volume changes via the inline remote - play/pause still works....
    What could be wrong??

I am getting audio output from only my left earbud. However, the volume control mounted on the right channel cable is functioning fine. I plugged in another set of earbuds and they seem to work fine.
Can anybody help? Or do I have to visit the Apple store for a replacement of earbuds?

  • Headphone jack in Macbook is only putting out the left channel.

I have no idea how it happened, I just know it happened yesterday. I usually have a line to the stereo, and last night the left speaker was dead.
I tried with some headphones, and lo and behold, dead as well.
Anyone know what could be wrong (and perhaps how to fix it without paying apple a million bucks?)

Yeah, should've mentioned I went there first as well
Have had the slider play games with me before. Not the case today, tho

  • Music only comes out of the left earpiece, unless I put pressure on the jack. Can i fix this easily?

It's been getting worse over the last couple of months. A right pain when I'm out and about.

  • My iPod touch (3rd gen) isn't putting out sound other than static and high pitched noises through the tv hookup, the built in speakers, and headphones. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

Everything on my iPod touch (3rd gen) works just fine except the audio out put.

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue. Contact Apple or a third-party service center.

  • IPod no longer puts out sound, tried multiple resets/headphones

I have had my iPod for years, I believe I purchased it in 2006, and only days ago did it lose sound. I have tried to reset it, kill the battery, and I have also tried multiple headphones that work on other devices, to no avail. I've always had issues with it freezing, but never losing sound. It still indicates that it's playing, but no sound. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

It sounds like you have attempted all the known troubleshooting techniques.  It's more than likely that the headphone jack is a gone and is in need of replacement.

  • IPod not putting out sound on right headphone

As of yesterday, my iPod is not producing any sound through the right headphone. I've tried my headphones on other devices and they work, and also tried other headphones on my ipod and the right headphone still has no sound.
It seems like a problem with the connection because when I jiggle the headphone jack, I get brief bursts of soun (it seems like if I physically hold the headphone jack towards the back of the ipod, it helps).
Anyone else encounter this or have a suggestion?

  • Why does sound only come out of 1 speaker when I dock my iPod?

My son's Ipod only plays sound out of I speaker. When I dock the ipod on his ihome radio or my sony radio, sound only comes out of the left speaker. When I put other ipods on the same docks i get sound out of both speakers. It is just this one ipod that won't produce sound out of both speakers, no matter what docking station I use.

Likely it is a hardware issue for the iPod, you need to bring it for service
