IPhone Outlook sync keeps replacing deleted contact info

Hi folks, I have loads of people in my contacts who have signed up on the day for newsletters/specials etc. When a customer asks to be removed from our distribution list, I always cut their contact details from the mobile and email fields and paste into their notes. This way, when I send out an update to everyone on the list, the contact doesn't receive it but I still have their details if they need me to contact them personally. I do this cut and paste on my 5s (OS up to date), on Outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1) and iCloud.
The problem I've been having lately is that when I sync my iPhone with iTunes (up to date), it somehow puts the more recent contacts' phone number and email back into the fields on both iPhone and Outlook. I have been doing this for a long time and have quite a few regular customers who opted out a while ago. Their fields are empty and their contact details are in their notes. Any ideas?

You are saying that you have altered the contact on both the phone and the computer? That is why the conflict resolution window is appearing. Normally, you just alter in one place and it will sync the other. If you are syncing via iTunes and iCloud both, this is probably where your problem is created. Syncing with iCloud and then with iTunes is creating the conflict. You should only be using one or the other. If you are using iCloud, you should just make the change in either iCloud or the iPhone and let it sync to the other devices. If you change it on the computer and the phone, then iCloud is probably creating the conflict. It doesn't know what to do. What happens if you just make the change in one location?

You can resync your contact via Itunes, just go to the contact tabs and check to sync.

Hi, the other day for some reason I lost all my contacts on my IPhone 4S.
I have search everywhere I can think of to find a way to recover them but nothing worked.
So can anyone please tell me how I can recover my contacts?
I can’t use iTunes because I don't have the backup.
I even downloaded software that said it could recover my contacts without using iTunes but that didn't work either.
So if there is anyone out there that can tell me how I can recover deleted contacts from iPhone 4S, please tell me. Thanks

If you plug your phone into your computer you can sync and backup so that when you get the new phone you can restore from a backup instead of setting it up as a new iphone

Outlook Sync Problem: Spontaneous Deletions of Calendar Items

Hi there,
Occasionally, my Microsoft Outlook (Office 2003) decides to delete calendar items on my Curve (Verizon) or vice versa. I try changing the sync setting to one way so that whichever device has for some reason lost data gets the calendar items put back in, but now my outlook is trying to delete those items from my device calendar even though I don't want them deleted. I don't have an extraordinary amount of entries (almost 1600). Any advice? This has started happening every 2 or 3 weeks.

PS I've been reading some other threads: wondering if my calendar events get corrupted when someone outside sends me a meeting invite (I'm not on an enterprise server). Those calendar events always seem to have conflict resolution issues between my device calendar and outlook calendar. Ideas?
(I deleted those invites off my outlook calendar and just typed in regular invites. Hopefully that will help)

Nokia1800 keeps asking to contact info services

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and last week I came to the UK for a visit and that's when phone started giving "Nokia" screen and message: "Contact info services" every 15-20 mins when left to be idle... I think it might have something t do with change of network or something since this was not happening back home (where I won't be returning soon, so I cannot check).
Other than that, it works fine, I can send and receive messages as well as calls.

Sync PalmOne Zire 31 Contact info into Outlook Contact info

I have a new (to me) computer with Windows XP and have downloaded my Zire 31 software. I have information on my Palm that I need to sync into my Outlook contacts. When I hook up the Palm and hit the "sync" button, it acts like it is doing something but finishes right away (it took quite awhile on my old computer) and no data has been transferred. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hi, let me get this right. Your outlook contact is currently empty? and you have already sync with iPhone and unfortunately your iPhone contacts had been overwritten by empty outlook contact?
In that case, I think it is all too late since both outlook & iphone contact are empty!!!
If you managed to get all the contacts back on your iphone (e.g. copy from sim??), make sure the option of "replace all items on iPhone" is unclick when you sync via iTune.

I have a iphone 4s and i deleted several contacts from my phone but when i go to meassage a different contact that old contact i deleted weeks ago shows up how do i get the deleted contact info off my phone and out of the memory.

How do u delete old contacts that have been deleted from my phonebook on my iphone4s. The old contacts continue. To show up when i go to message someone they pop up from memory.

Is there a blue arrow beside those numbers when they appeared?

aileen0788, I would be lost without my contacts so I definitely understand how you’re feeling. But don’t worry because I’m here to help!
Is the software on your phone up to date? I suggest perform a device reset to clear all settings. Make sure you first back up your device, then go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> "Erase All Content and Settings". You will then need to reactivate and reset up your device settings. If you are still having an issue after that, we may need to file a trouble ticket.

My computer has had to have a new hard drive how do i get my iphone to sync all the music and info on it please?

I Have had to have a new hard drive fitted to my sony computer and it has wiped everything off. I have reinstaled itunes, how do i sync the info on my iphone to my computer as i cant seem to sync the contacts or the music. Please can sombody help me as i'm not great with computers?

IPhone Outlook sync using more than 1 folder

I have been using Outlook to sync my calendar with no problem now for quite some time. I have 1 shared calendar across my iPhone and on Outlook on my PC. I thought I would sync contacts as well but instead of sharing a single contact folder it has created an iPhone contacts folder on my PC. This means I have 2 folders of contacts on my PC instead of the 1 shared folder, so it's a pain as when I'm working quickly and saving contacts duplicates are created which I then have to manually find and correct. Is there a way of sharing a single folder with contacts in? I'm guessing there must be as this works for the calendar. I'm using Outlook 2013.

Select the folder you want to start with and select the photos and click book - then go to the other folder(s) and drag the photos you want to add to the book project that was created in the last step - you can drag photos from albums or from events to the book project

Deleted Contact Info Reappears when I create SMS

I replaced my friend's number on my contacts since he changed his number already. Problem is whenever I send him a message, his old number reappears together with the new one when I type his name on the "To" field. How do I solve this? My contacts are only backed up in iCloud. I have tried wiping all my contacts in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>iCloud>Contacts>Delete from my phone. All my contacts are gone, then I turned back iCloud on again, my contacts were back, and the problem was still there. I checked my Contacts on iCloud, it only shows the new number.
Same thing happens for my old messages. Deleted messages appear on Spotlight Search and it's really bothering me. When I click the message, it just opens the Message App. Im afraid it's consuming my phone's memory. How do I solve this?

The only way to delete this information is to restore the iPhone as new, not from back up.

Sync wiped out my contact info...need recovery help

I just realized that my last sync which occurred a few days ago seemed to wipe out a ton of my address book data (stuff like contact photos and notes).
I suspect it's because it replaced my Address Book contacts with my Entourage/Exchange contacts which doesn't contain those bits of info. It used to work the other way around, where I maintained the "master" in address book, but now it's all gone and I'm ******.
I did check /Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook.data.previous, but it contains the same missing info so perhaps it got wiped out prior to my last sync. Do any other "previous" versions get stored anywhere?
Hopefully someone can help...this *****!! I've lost a ton of data and am looking for ways to get it back

ARRRGGG!!!! All my birthday data is wiped out too. Great. I don't have this info stored anywhere else. How could this happen?

Unique iphone/Outlook sync problem ???

I have followed posts for over a month now (since I got my phones) and have yet to see this specific problem. I even spoke with the 1-800 people but their insight was limited at best. So I decided to sign up and place this post. Any help would be appreciated. I too, like many others have had problems syncing my iphone with Outlook (2003) both ways. I use Outlook express for email/contacts (via WAB) these sync fine. I just have to open my email a/c (since both my wife and I have iphones and separate emails). Never get any error messages for Outlook calendar when I sync; in fact occassionally get the "you are about to change more than 5% of what is currently there." When I open Outlook though nothing comes up. Same thing with Outlook; if I place new appt then sync; it does not show up on iphone. I have read and tried every suggestion within these posts to no avail and pretty much had decided I would have to live with just using the calendar on iphone alone. Here is the kicker; my iphone crapped out a week ago; top third of touch screen would not work; called the 800# went through all their template troubleshooting; tried to resync everything again so I could load it on my loaner. Never could pull it up on Outlook though. Accepted the fact I lost my calendar; however when my loaner came to me when I placed my sim card in and synced it; much to my amazement the calendar popped up on my iphone. Still having same problem of new items entered either on iphone or Outlook not syncing either way. BTW have received a new phone now; just wondering if anyone has any insight to this problem and what I could possibly do to fix it.
Things I have already done (from posts read):
Uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes
Have most recent software on iphone
Added sp2 for Outlook
Added sp3 for Office
Inactivated my Norton's when syncing
Checked and made sure I do not have Windows Live loaded
Confirmed PST file accepts unicode
Anyone that has any help for me; it would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem when I first got the phone when they first came out and I spent a few hours on the phone with them. I had reoccuring events set up in my outlook that were scheduled with no end date. Apparently it caused some sort of sync problem. I had to go into the event that I scheduled to occur every third day with no end-date and I scheduled it to end around the year 2010. Anyways, I don't know if this will help but it worked for me.

I am having trouble syncing my iPhone with Outlook. It seems that it is just syncing from Outlook to the iPhone. Entries made in the iPhone are not transferring to Outlook?

AND, now when i opened outlook on my computer, i have three tabs/calendars. there is one tab with my email address, the second tab says icloud and the third tab says green calendar. if i want my phone and computer to be exactly the same, should i always add the info on the icloud tab calendar?

Iphone 4 sync won't delete voice memos

I have deleted all voice memos on my mac, but sync won't remove them from my iphone 4 (version 4.3.3) I have tried checking "Include voice memos" then syncing. I have tried unchecking and then syncing. I have completely deleted my voice memos playlist on my mac and repeated both syncs above. I have also reset my phone (b/c I was getting an error message that I didn't have a microphone - reset fixed this) and tried again. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have about 50 voice memos and don't want to delete them one at a time.

I recorded a new voice memo on my phone and synced again. The sync created a new voice memos playlist in itunes (as it should have) with the one new voice memo in it. The sync completely ignored the 50-or-so old voice memos on my phone.
