Are the green buttons used in iPhone's phone app custom buttons ?

Same occurred to me today. Running iPhone [email protected]
Sometime when you enter the phone application, one can occasionally scroll the call list but then all freezes. No buttons at the bottom seem to work at all.
A reset/new setup of the phone as suggested by Ingo2711 seems ridicules. Any other solution from Apple Support?

My iPhone Phone app suddenly started hanging. I cannot receive a phone call and I cannot make a phone call. I made a hard shutdown for my iPhone several times but of no use.

Unlock phone to answer call or text

I don't have to unlock my phone to answer calls or texts. I would really like to have to do that, someone answered my phone the other day, I was not happy, no harm was done but I'd like to prevent it in the future. How can this be done?

I thought I made that pretty clear in both my response.
For text message you would have to unlock your phone to read your text if it is locked - which is what you wanted.
For the phone calls you don't the only option is to swipe to answer.- So no it can't be done. You can test for yourself, lock your phone and use another phone to call yourself - you see that there is no option to unlock your phone.

New lync contacts default to cell phone for lync call button (part 2)

The problem is that when a Lync 2013 user adds a new contact, and then tries to place a call in Lync, the default option for the Lync call button to that newly added contact is that contact's cell phone (if that contact has added a cell phone number).
The default should be a Lync call, not a cell phone number.

So I understand one possible solution is to: Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableVOIPCallDefault $true
However, here's the odd issue I'm having and why I'm posting: I ran Get-CsClientPolicy across three different, independent Lync servers (all for completely different orgs/domains that are managed separately) that I have access to, and the EnableVOIPCallDefault
is set to false for all of them. However, this problem behavior is only affecting one of the orgs, the other two, when a new contact is added, the call button in the Lync client defaults to a Lync call, not a cell number.
So why, if across three independently managed Lync servers, if the EnableVOIPCallDefault is set to false, would it only be defaulting to cell phones in one? I compared the results of the three Get-CsClientPolicy, and could not find a logical pattern
in any of the settings that could explain.
The only thing that I can think of is that the org that is affected, the line uri is a 4 digit extension, not a full 10 digit phone number. In the other two orgs (including the one that I am a user in), it's a full 10 digit phone number.

EnableVOIPDefault is only the default option for the first click-to-call for a contact, once a different number is selected it becomes the default and the policy has no effect.

It sounds like you are getting calls but cannot answer them. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article for you:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

IPhone 'Phone' app closes

When I click the application to make a call it loads, freezes for around 5 seconds then returns to the homescreen, if I make a phonecall by going though the contacts application and clicking the contact and number it will dial but the phone screen won't appear at the top of the iPhone it says click here to return to call, when I click it, it doesn't work.
Help.

Yes, i've tried that, no luck.
I've also cleared all my text messages and open web pages in safari incase it was an issue. Nothing changed, all other applications open perfectly...

IOS7- Launching phone app after call or voicemail - app loads empty screen

This has happened 3 times now. I'll get a phonecall, usually they will leave a voice mail. So I click ont he phone icon, app launches, you see the white background load, then it's gone and I see my wallpaper and app is crashed. Nothing happens. I have to quit the app and relaunch to get it working again.

The lockscreen notification issue is with only 1 game in particular I think. Adding, my iOS install is a clean install because it didn't restore data for a few of my games when I upgraded to iOS7 in the first place. So I had to erase all and install after a restore didn't work correctly.
I haven't updated to 7.0.4 since that is mainly for facetime, but I'll update to that and see if anything happens. I'm nervous to do a restore and lose my game data again. But that is a logical next step to try so thanks for the suggestion. I just hope I don't have to.

Iphone voicemail not answering calls

I recently bought a new iphone but my voicemail doesn't kick in when the phone rings - so it just rings out.
I wasn't given the set up menu when i pressed the "record" icon in the phone so can't set up a password.
When i dial the voicemail I get the menu, all seems fine that end.
How do I get my voicemail to take messages?

Voicemail is a carrier feature, not a feature of the phone. Contact your carrier to get it set up properly.

Answering calls from car no longer works with iOS 8 update

After updating the firmware to iOS8 my iPhone no longer answers calls from my car bluetooth audio. I get the call alert but the car answer button is disabled.. I am using standard bluetooth communication and not the A2DP technology.
Is anyone facing a similar issue?
I am using iPhone 5s

I know that I had to delete the entry in the car's Bluetooth setup (for Steve's iPhone - replaced and iPhone 5 with 6) and then go through the setup again to get it to work. Perhaps that would solve your issue?

I want to know how to disable the little "Call Phone" or "Video Call" button that pops up when you hover over a contact's status in the Skype main window. Too many times I have accidentally clicked in this spot to activate the Skype window, only to immediately (and inadvertently) call whichever contact I happened to be hovering over. This should be an option, or at the very least require a double click.
My personal preference is to double click the contact to open the Skype chat window, and then click "Call" from there. Which is obviously an option, provided I don't accidentally click in the minefield that is the Status column in the contacts list.

Hover and single click call is horrible UI design. Which explains why it was adopted by the Skype developers.

Verizon - Iphone 6 plus - phone app getting hanged while doing 3 way conference call

I am using VOLTE in IPHONE 6 Plus with IOS 8.1 and when I am trying to do 3 way conference: I called person A and then I add person B, then I see the following issues:
I press Merge calls and calls are merged but still merge calls & Swap icon is enabled.
When person A/B hangsup, the phone app is hanged and call is ended but it still shows that phone is ending.
If I end the call, still the phone app is hanged and it shows it is ending.
I cannot do any dialing in the phone when phone app is hanged and literally, I have to restart the phone only.
Any other person cannot call me and it goes to voicemail.
All the above issues were happening in IOS 8 and IOS 8.0.2 also. I did reset network settings too but it did not help.
Can someone give an idea for any solution.

Thank you so much for those details. I want to make sure that you are able to use the feature without any issues. One thing that we might want to check out is that all the people that are a part of the 3 way calling is in the Verizon 4G LTE network. This could cause some issues if they are not.
