Iphone photo lost

When I connect my Iphone to my macbook it asks to import photos and then asks it I want to delete originals. I have made the mistake of selecting yes and it instantly loses the connection and the photos or videos. Is there a way to get them back? Also is there a way to not have this happen amymore?

You don't initiate a separate process to backup your iPhone. This happens each time you sync in iTunes; i.e., it's part of the sync process. As for "earlier backup," iTunes saves several historical backups as you sync in case you ever need to restore to an earlier state. When you restore from backup you specify which of these historical backup to restore from. You can't, however, selectively choose to just restore part of the data (e.g., photos) and not others; you have to restore the entire backup. That's why I suggested extracting the photos from an earlier backup rather than restoring from it. Once you extract the photos to your computer you can sync them back to your phone thus maintaining your current data. Unfortunately, extracting requires additional software.

Today I decided to sync my iPhone 5 and download the new version of the operation system because of warnings in the news about security breaches with the older versions. When I plugged the device in and selected it, I was not presented with the option of syncing but was guided to a screen with two choices: 1) register a new device or 2) restore the device to the settings of the last backup (2/27/13). I chose restore since the device was already recognized by iTunes when I plugged it in. There was no dialogue warning me that restoring means that you will be deleting any new data stored on the phone since the last backup. This is a crucial piece of information worthy of a red flag and warning similar to those you get if you attempt to delete a photo or contact. I proceeded through the restore process; eventually, there appeared an error message saying that the restore had failed. I unplugged the iPhone then plugged it in again. This time, I was guided to the screen for syncing and proceeded to sync apps, calendar, photos (there is no music on the device). When I finished, I discovered that many, many of my most precious photos and the albums I had created to arrange themon the iPhone were missing, although many of them remain. Most of the photos on the iPhone at this time are those that were already stored on the computer in Picasa while many of the iPhone photos I was attempted to save by syncing have disappeared. Is there any chance of recovering these photos, either on the computer or on the iPhone? My Photo Stream option was on for the photos, but most of them were apparently not captured and are missing from Photo Stream on the computer and on the iPhone.

I am not computer savy....I was trying to add some contacts and it would not let me. My grandaughter told me I had to sync phone. I did something stupid I told it to restore to last back up. I got all old contact information. I messed with it until I got my current contacts back. Everything is back to normal except my photos are gone.

I am trying to sync photos in a dedicated file on my desktop with the photo library on my iPhone 4S. Something I have done many times before.
Since upgrading to iTunes 11 I get this message "the iphone could not be synced because the connection to iphone was lost" midway through the sync. I do not understand this as I am syncing via the USB lead, so how can the connection be lost?
Bascially I just want to update the photos on my iPhone with new photos I have added to the file I use on my computer.
Any help or ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks.

If they really meant that much to you, they would have been copied off to a computer at the earliest possible opportunity.
I personally find it amazing that people get so upset when pictures "accidentally" get deleted and then scream about how important they are. You wouldn't leave important paper work lying around to be lost/damaged/stolen, so why take a chance with important pictures on a device that can so easily be lost/damaged/stolen, or deleted by a child.

I already used Find my Iphone app but i cannot track it because it is offline.

The only way to track an iPhone is if you turned on Find My Phone in Settings > iCloud before it was lost, then login to your iCloud account, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up. To show up it must be turned on and connected to the internet.
If the iPhone did not have protections invoked and someone found/stole it and restored to factory condition, and then activated with a different number, there is no way to track or find it.
If it has been stolen or lost you can report that to your carrier and see if they offer blacklisting...that will block it from ever being activated by another person.

I've had good results with iPhone Data Recovery - able to recover about 94% of files from undamaged disks with trashed files.
It's $49 but much less than you'd pay for a data recovery service...
But maybe this will be a good lesson to you to ALWAYS maintain one or more backup schemes.

i have the original iphone (8GB) and i recently updated it with new software (everything was backed up)everything was fine with it, then the next day i synced it again to add new songs, as a result my 300+ iphone photos were deleted! i cant find them anywhere in my computer,if anybody has some advice please let me know. thanks

I was not syncing my contacts to anything but iTunes. However, I WAS able to restore the original iPhone settings after I upgraded the iOS. HOWEVER. I needed to put in the original sim card (USA), and now I don't have any service with that sim card. I've got all my contacts/photos back, but can't make any calls. When I put in my current sim card (I'm in China), it says this card is not supported, and I must use the original sim card.
What can I do?
I will be getting a new iPhone soon. What's the easiest way to back up the contact information and then place it on the new phone?

Syncing to iTunes doesn't make delete your message or photos.
where you syncing to a different computer than the one you normally sync to?
Are you sure you weren't restoring instead of syncing.
If you have a backup of your phone that included those message or photos then use that backup.

Photo album pics should still be on your computer, as that's where they came from in the first place.
Camera Roll pics (taken with iphone) should be imported to you computer on a regular basis (particularly before a restore) so they should be on your computer as well.
If you have failed to do this, you should be able to restore from back up, as camera roll photos are part of the automatic itunes backup:

Why did you not back it up before performing the update? Did you perform the update on a computer other than the one you normally sync with?

I recently put on a PowerPoint presentation at DU, in Denver Colorado; signed on as DU guest to access Internet link. SInce then I haven't been able to get e-mail on my Iphone - Cannot Get Mail, Server Stopped Responding. I tried all previous suggestions, such as rebooting phone, updating software etc. I went to MacBook Pro and tried logging on to yahoo e-mail. Apparently there was a security risk to my e-mail account so Yahoo locked up my account. I reset my password, it was verified through text message, and Voila it worked. Don't forget you also have to change this on your Iphone: go into settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; click on your e-mail browser, then account and enter your new password, click done and it will verify on you phone as well. Other than changing the SIM card, you don't mention any troubleshooting you did with your phone.
If you haven't already, try the following steps as needed:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Setting.
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as a new iPhone
IF the last step doesn't fix it, there is a hardware problem and you should make an appt. with an Apple Store Genius Bar. The fact that you haven't dropped the phone by no means rules out hardware issues.
