Iphone photo sent to my gmail never arrives

I am trying to send a photo from my iphone to my gmail (or my wife's gmail). I click on the photo I want to send, hit "email this photo", enter my email address when the gmail screen comes up and hit "send". The email appears to be sent, the iphone switches me back to the main screen with all my apps icons and I don't hear the "whoosh" sound indicating it's been sent and my email never shows up. When it worked in the past, after I hit "send" I stayed in the camera mode and I heard the "whoosh". What's wrong?

You're welcome anyway.
How about this Mr. lack of manners who is the one looking for and needing help - why don't you include everything you have tried so people who volunteer their time to help others here DON'T WASTE THEIR TIME and your time providing a suggestion THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED WITHOUT SUCCESS.
Best of luck getting your problem resolved.

  • When I send photos from my Iphone to an email address they never arrive.  Any thoughts?

When I send photos from my iphone to an email, the email seems to send, but the email never arrives at it's destination.  Can someone help me fix this?
    Thanks.

Has you email ever worked. Are you receiving an error when you send the mail, or is it just sitting in your outbox? Is it just a single individual that is not receiving your mail? Have you tested sendng mail to another individual whos email address you know is valid?

  • Add To iPhoto in Mail fails for iPhone photos sent in multiple emails

Someone takes six photos with an iPhone and emails them to you.
You get 6 emails. Each one has a photo.jpg image attached.
You click the SAVE pop-down menu in the Mail message and choose Save To iPhoto. The photo is imported into iPhoto. You delete that email and do the same thing with the second email with the second photo...
BUT, somewhere the Mail-iPhoto smartness turns dumb, as the rest of the photos will not show up in iPhoto. (This may have something to do with the fact that the iPhone sends each photo with the attachment name of photo.jpg and somehow Mail or iPhoto think that photo has already been added to iPhoto).
I was having this problem with photos emailed to me by iPhone users and tested it myself.
Sure enough, after the first photo.jpg attachment is imported all subsequent Add To iPhoto operations of iPhone sent images fail... even if the photos have been sent from separate iPhones from separate email addresses.
All the attachments are kept by Mail in uniquely numbered folders in the attachments folder of my receiving email account in Library/Mail but since each attachments is named photo.jpg that seems to throw off iPhoto OR Mail (because even the quick progress update of "Adding photo to iPhoto" does not show up on these attempts).
I checked if quitting and restarting Mail fixed allowed the second photo to be added to iPhoto but it did not. Quitting iPhoto after EACH import/Add To iPhoto operation allowed each photo to be added into iPhoto.
This may have to do with the iPhoto bugs handling large libraries (I have 19000 images in it) like the spinning wheel of Names window after imports, etc.
Just sharing if others have the same experience sending 3 iPhone photos by email to themselves and seeing if all can be added to iPhoto from Mail. Thanks.
    Imran

    Yes it is a bug
Report to apple. iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
You can work around BR saving to the desktop and importing or opening in quick view, expanding to full screen and saving to iPhoto

  • HELP...photos sent by email from my iPad are upside down.

Has anyone else had this experience?  The image is shown correctly here but is inverted before it reaches the recipient.  Very frustrating.

In a phone call to Apple tech support I learned that the problem is in the receiving computer.  Some PC devises tend to do this to incoming pictures on email, depending on the mail account.  So, a photo sent to many addresses may arrive in different format.  I'll test the theory.

  • ICloud emails sent from apple mail or iPhone 3gs never arrives, works fine when sent from iCloud website

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks!
    Charles

I figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

  • TS1498 Texts sent while iPhone 4 is off never arrive? only since update to OS 7

Why don't text messages sent while my phone is off get delivered when I turn the phone on? This has only changed since update to new OS.

I contacted support from carrier. With phone turned off, the carrier sent an SMS and it showed as delivered by their trace. It never showed up on my phone. They suggested restoring the phone to default. I did this, and recovered data from restored backup. Did not fix problem. Texts come through fine as long as phone is on. It is only if it is off that texts sent get lost and never show up.

  • TS2755 iPhone 5 can not open photos sent via text

    Hello bostongreedy,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I would be concerned as well if I wasn't able to view the images that were sent to me in Messages.  I found some steps that might help with this:
If you still can't send or receive MMS messages
To send and receive MMS messages on your iPhone, verify that your wireless carrier supports MMS2.
Ensure that MMS Messaging is turned on in Settings > Messages.
Verify that your phone is able to access cellular data.
Some carriers allow you to edit your APN (Access Point Name), which may prevent MMS from working.
If you are roaming outside your calling area, make sure you have Data Roaming turned on in Settings > General > Cellular to send or receive MMS content.
While on a phone call, you will be unable to send or receive MMS messages when using an EDGE, GPRS, or any CDMA cellular data network. After the phone call ends, you will receive any incoming messages. If you tried to send an MMS message, you may need to send it again.
If the issue persists and your wireless carrier has confirmed that your wireless account is provisioned2 for MMS, restore the iPhone.

Before you restore your iPhone in step 4, be sure to back up your iPhone.  You can find the steps to do that here:

I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • I upgraded my wife's iMac to Mountain Lion. When I try to set up her cloud connection to sync with her iPad and iPhone, it says it is sending a verification email, but it never arrives. Any way around this. Her phone and iPad seem to already be in sync .

No in order to backup to iTunes, you would need to unlock your phone.
In order to import pics to your computer you would need to unlock your phone.

  • Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address

Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address

I have solved this. The main account SMTP setting was wrong so it was using the next outgoing mail server available which was Gmail. Disabling Gmail as an alternative highlighted that the main one was wrong. I fixed the main SMPTP outgoing server address and all now working. Hope this helps.

  • Photos sent as email attachments from iPhone ALWAYS have the file name -- photo.jpg?

Do all photos sent from an iPhone to an email address get sent with the name -- photo.jpg?

Is there no one from Apple who reads these discussion/community boards?  Over 245 views and no reply to your question.  I saw a similar concern from 2009 with over 700 views and no reply.  I can't believe that Apple hasn't fixed this.
I am a Blackberry user and have the choice to switch over to iphone next year.  I have to use my phone on a daily basis for work to take photos and email them to multiple people (including myself).  Blackberry has always uniquely named each photo with the date it was taken plus a unique identifier so it's really easy to file, email, and figure out which photo was which (they also list by name and not just thumbnail).
I would really like to switch over to iphone but if there isn't an app or some way to fix this...I don't know what I will do.  You'd think that an issue that's over 4 years old would have been resolved by now....?  The other thing that is really annoying with iphone photos is that whenever someone emails me with them, a lot of times they are upside down, even if they corrected it on their phone before emailing it to me.  Somehow the photos do not work well with Microsoft Outlook.

how do I get rid of doubles of photos sent by an iPhone? When I try to trash them, I get the message 'locked' Thank you.

    Hi
    Thank you for the reply.
No I have not deleted anything, this all happened automatically when the trial period ended.
Other than an old version of Photoshop (version 7, for which I do have a serial number, I don't have any other Adobe software - just the reader which is now not working)
I was trialling Dreamwever but couldn't get started with it so am paying someone else to set up the website using Wordpress.

How can I move/copy scanned photos that were sent to my gmail account? I have not been able to move or copy to iPhoto.

    Hello SusieMacBook,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You can definitely get these photos into iPhoto if they are the correct file type (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PNG).  The way you import the photo attachments depends on where you check your e-mail.  The following article is for iPhoto 11 (but should work for previous versions as well).  It outlines how to import photos from Mac Mail, other e-mail applications, and web browsers, so just look at the section that applies to you.

    I hope this helps!
