Iphone photo transfer choas: where is the original image ?

folder structure is confusing:
iphoto library
modified
2007
Roll 312
if modified, where is the ******* original ?

Are you transferring photos from iPhoto to your iPhone?
The folder structure on the iPhone should be as follows:
Camera Roll - stores photos taken by the iPhone only.
Photo Library - access to all photos transferred to your iPhone from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process. Photos take by the iPhone are available in the Camera Roll folder only.
Below Photo Library are select iPhoto albums (or select folders containing photos) transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
If you transferred one iPhoto album or separate folder named 2007 containing photos to your iPhone which includes 100 photos - it should be available on the iPhone as follows:
Photo Library (100)
2007 (100)
If you transferred 3 iPhoto albums or separate folders named 2005, 2006 and 2007 containing a total photo count of 100, it should be as follows:
Photo Library (100)
2005 (35)
2006 (35)
2007 (30)
You can view the 30 photos in the 2007 album or folder only by selecting it or view all 100 photos in all albums or folders by selecting Photo Library.
I'm not sure where the modified folder is coming from but unless you have an iPhoto album or pictures folder name modified which was selected for transfer from your computer to the iPhone, something is wrong but the original photos should be available on your computer.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.

  • Do iPhone photos sync to Lightroom Mobile in Original Quality or Smart Preview?

From my iPhone, I want to get the original (high quality) photo from my camera roll into Lightroom on my desktop. Currently, I am doing this by having Dropbox read my camera roll, and using WiFi, sync all new photos to a Dropbox folder. Then, when I launch Lightroom on my desktop, I have watch folder setup that imports all new photos sync'ed from Dropbox into Lightroom.
I recently downloaded Lightroom Mobile, which has the ability to import any new photos from the camera roll directly to Lightroom Mobile. I have set this up to sync to Lightroom on my desktop with my Lightroom Mobile. From what I have read online though, Lightroom Mobile only syncs "smart previews", not the original image. This make sense for RAW files as they are huge, but what about regular JPEGs?
My question is, if someone sets up Lightroom Mobile to sync in this way (from iPhone camera roll -> Lightroom Mobile -> Lightroom Desktop), does it sync the original (high quality) photo to your desktop, or just a Smart Preview? I am wondering if I can now eliminate the Dropbox syncing, and just use Lightroom Mobile instead.

When you import photos from your camera roll via Lr Mobile, then the original will be synced to Lr Deskop. But when you open up the photo in Lr Mobile you will see a smaller kind of smart preview. Hope that answers your question. - Guido

  • When using Iphoto to import photo from existing folder, what happens if I delete the photo in Iphoto ? Will the original file in the folder be deleted too?

When using Iphoto to import photo from existing folder to iphoto, what happens if:
    1. I delete that photo in iphoto? will the original file in the folder be deleted too ?
    2.  when importing, does the hard disk store 2 versions of the photo, hence occupying additional space in the harddisk?

1 - no  --  iPhoto only manages fiel within the iPhoto library - it does not ever do anything with files outside the library
2 - No idea what you are asking - by default (and strongly recommended) iPhoto copies the original to the iPhoto library and you delete the source file outside the iPhoto library - iPhoto alwasy has at least two versions of every photo and some times three - it always have the original, a thumbnail and once a photo is modified a preview - this is not optional - if it is not what you want then iPhoto is not the correct progrtam to be using for phopto management

I'd put them on an external hard drive(s) and burn them to a DVD as well (at least 2 - 3 copies on different drives/media); I prefer having control and a local solution instead of relying on a server and the possibility of someone (who shouldn't be)  downloading my work.

  • Can you resume an unfinished/failed Airdrop transfer?  Where do the unfinished transfer files go?  Thanks in advance!

Can you resume an unfinished/failed Airdrop transfer?
Where do the unfinished transfer files go?
I was 75% thru a 8 gig transfer before I had to stop.  Just wondering if there's a way to resume instead of starting all over, otherwise I'll break up the files into smaller segments I transfer in the future.

Why are documents on the Lion upgrade so impersonal: Save a Version(where is the original that I created)?

I keep thinking of the old, original TV show, "Outer Limits" in which the narrator tells us that he has control.
We are entering into the new nanny state, in which personal control is being minimized.

  • HT4236 synching photos to my iPad3GS , will the original ones be lost?

I am unsure if I synch photos to my iPad3GS, which already has photos stored on it, will the original ones be lost from the iPad? ie how does one just add more?

Synced photos are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync, so you will need to include all the photos from your computer that you want on the iPad on each sync.
So it will depend upon how those photos got onto the iPad originally - if they were synced from a computer then you will need to include them in the next photo sync to keep them on the iPad. Photos that were taken with the iPad or copied to it via the camera connection kit or saved from emails/websites won't be affected.

  • Why is the preview-quality of my fotos different (worse) in the timeline compared to the original image?

After importing fotos and videos into an new project for a film the quality of the original image in the preview of the timeline is terrible. When double-clicking in the picture however, the quality of the image is fine. This makes it impossible to use any effects (color, saturation, contrast) on the picture - as it doesn`t actually look like that...is there anything I can do?
I`m attaching a screenshot of the image in timeline and the original.
    Thanks!
    Maike

    Hi A.T.,
Thanks for the quick reply. Please see my answers below:
I`m using a 15 " Macbook Pro with Retina and Adobe Elements Version 13.1 - German Version. I do not know, what eLive is - sorry.
My video card/graphics card is absolutely up to date - the Macbook I`m using is only a year old.
    The original images are .jpeg.
    Dimensions: 4000 x 3000 px.
To some of the pictures I have applied effects with Snapseed (App) or iPhoto-Editor. But not to all of them - and I do have this washed-out-effect on those as well.
In Elements Organizer the thumbnails and the pictures are absolutely OK.
I did try to correct the colours in Premiere Elements Editor with the color correction tools when I first discovered the washed-out-effect - but this is of course totally useless, as actually the original picture is OK - so I got back to the original.
I did not consciously use any manual presets to match the properties of the source media. Or at least not as far as I remember. I did import the original fotos into the organizer, used the "video story" presets to arrange the pictures and then proceeded to the timeline where I first noticed the strange effect.
I hope you can tackle the issue better with these questions answered?
    Thanks,
    Maike

  • "The picture could not be opened because the original image could not be found."

"The picture XXXXX.jpg could not be opened because the original image could not be found." - I've translated from Portuguese, so it's possible to contain errors on text but I think it is clear to understand.
This error message has appeared on my screen for a thousand times, repeatedly. I've canceled everyone, but still appears, how this error has ocurred for every picture in my library.
I gave up, I'm tired to cancel every window. I don't know what to do. And worst, I'm not able to open Settings or any other command, only "Cancel" or "Search Image", and it opens a Finder window that doesn't give me access to iPhoto Library.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • When saving an image in PS CS 6, and going back to Lightroom 5. The original image and the edited image are at the end of the line up.

I'm using a Mac, Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS 6. I've started having an issue with the line up in Lightroom 5 after saving an image from PS CS 6. For some reason when I save the edited image form CS 6 it's taking the edited image and the original image and putting it at the end of the line up in Lightroom. If I take the edited image and move it to the right of the original it will put both of them back in the line up where they should be. How do I fix this. I've been looking in the menu for some kind of setting  with no luck.

When I try to print my book, I receive the following error message:  One or more of the images in your book are not presently available at full resolution. Please reconnect to these files by mounting the volume(s) containing the original images.  I don't understand what this means since all the photos are in the book.  Can someone please clarify?

When you look at the images in the browser, do you see any arrow icons on your thumbnails? Like these:
When you import your images from a folder on your system drive, you have two ways to import:
Managed: Import and store the images in the library
Or referenced: Leave the images in the folder outside the Aperture library.
This is controlled by the "Store Files" settings in the Import panel:
If you did not set "Store files" to "In the Aperture Library", the originals will stay in the folder outside.
The error message you get, suggests that Aperture assumes the original files are in a folder outside the library.
Select one of your images in the Browser and use the command "File > Show in Finder" - is this command available or dimmed out?
