Iphone photos not appearing in Iphoto

When I used to plug my Iphone into my Imac, Iphoto started up and my I phone pictures appeared on the screen and I was given the option to import them, or not, into Iphoto; and I thought isn't this easy.
Now when I plug my Iphone in it still charges like it used to but Iphoto does not appear. If I manually open I photo it acknowledges that the Iphone is plugged in but no photos from my iphone are shown.
I don't think I have changed any settings.
Please help!

Hi,
Hmm..it should automatically sync your photos. But sometimes, the problem might be from your iPhoto. Check if your iPhoto on both devices is updated. Try restarting your computer too. I think updating the iPhoto on both devices is probably the fix. Try giving it a shot.

  • IPhone photos not seen by iPhoto

I have photos in my iPhone that I can view, but they do not appear in iPhoto when the phone is connected. iPhoto sees the iPhone, but the photos don't load. When I try to import all in iPhoto, I get an "Unreadable Files" message. Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Shouldn't I be able to import from the iPhone into iPhoto?
Yes. You don't need to sync your iPhone with iTunes in order to do so and these are photos that were captured by the iPhone?
Which ILife version and iPhoto version do you have?
Have you tried using the Image Capture application which is located in your Applications folder? If this works to at least get these photos transferred from your iPhone to your Mac, then you should be able to import the photos into iPhoto which doesn't resolve the problem but you may need to do an iPhone Restore. Photos captured by the iPhone are now included with the iPhone's backup file that is created and updated by iTunes if needed just before the sync process but you don't want to depend on the iPhone's backup file for photos captured by the iPhone.

  • Organizer photos not appearing on iPhoto after I downloaded them

I have Elements 12 and some photos I downloaded from iPhoto to Organizer now are not appearing on iPhoto, and are grouped together as a folder in Organizer, instead of appearing individually in Organizer

    Memory is getting small
By memory do you mean free disk space? How much free space do you have? It's strongly recommended that a minimum of 10GB free space be maintained (20 GB if you use iDVD a lot) for optimal system and application performance.
By searching for thumbnails can you explain further? Do you get a message?

  • Photos not appearing in iphoto after sync

Some of my imported photos from my iPhone 4 are not showing up in iPhoto.  The import was successful and I deleted them from my phone when prompted.  Could they be somewhere else on my computer?

I have the similar issue with iPad 2. I initially could view all the photos on the photo gallery via iphoto app, but from a few weeks back I cannot see all the photos shown on the photo gallery via the iphoto app for ipad. I have also got issues with albums created on the photo app which are showing pics from different albums all merged on the iphoto view page. Could someone help?

  • New Photos not appearing in iPhoto but are in Show Contents

    Hello,
I am have a few issues with iPhoto.
    1. My last two imports of photos do not appear.  the Last import is showing photos from back in 2013.  If I Show Contents I can drill down and see in Master, Original a 2014/04/12  & 13 folder with sub folders and all the pictures.  I made a not of the file names and back in Iphoto I tried to search for the image name but it did not retrn any results
    2. I have had to force quit iPhoto 2-3 times in the past two days
    3. Today when I open iPhoto, the Events do not show photo is is a black box.  If I scroll up and down it then shows some photos, like I would nomally see.
Do this issue seem to indicate a problem with iPhoto, is there an index type issuse.. can I rebuild iPhoto in some way
For point 1, can i delete the folders in the "Show Content" option and reimport them?
    Thanks

For point 1, can i delete the folders in the "Show Content" option and reimport them?
No.  If you know the file name of the photos that are not showing do a search form them with the search tool:
If the image shows up Control (right) - click on it and select Show Event from the contextual menu.
If it does'nt kdo the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • IPhone photos not seen in iPhoto - iPhone and iPhoto out of sync

Normally when I connect my iPhone 3Gs to my iMac, iPhoto '08 opens and my iPhone is recognized and all photos on the phone are shown in iPhoto, ready for import. However, my iPhone and iPhoto now seem out of sync. Without my iPhone connected, I opened iPhoto and it shows my iPhone in the device list; instead of showing photo thumbnails on my iPhone, iPhoto displays empty boxes where the photos would ordinarily be. When I connect the iPhone, iPhoto continues to show the empty boxes, rather than the photos on my phone. When I try to import one of the "invisible" photos, I get an iPhoto error message: "The following file could not be imported. (The import failed.)" How can I correct this behavior so that I can import iPhone photos again?

    Try trash the following file
    com.apple.ImageCaptureNotifications.DeviceDiscoveryDatabase.501
    from HD/Library/ Caches
    and restart your mac.

  • IPhone now not appearing in iPhoto

My iPhone has stopped appearing as a device in iPhoto when I connect it to my Mac.
When I connect my phone it is supposed to launch iPhoto and then show any phone pics that can be transferred to iPhoto. Until this week this process has been happening without problem.
I have updated to iOS Lion (OS X 10.7.2) for my Mac, and iOS 5.0 (9A334) for my iPhone 4, but this was done several weeks ago.
My version of iPhoto is current.
My phone does appear in iTunes when I connect to my Mac though.
I have been through the Settings for iPhoto and my iPhone but cannot find a problem or cause for this to happen. Any ideas please???

I'm glad it worked out for you. I went to the Apple store, they tried everything I already had, which didn't work for them either. Eventually, we signed out of my usual login on the computer, and went in as a guest. Checked that iPhoto recognized my iPhone as the guest user, which it did, signed out an back in as my regular sign in and voila, iPhoto then recognized my phone. Phew. I don't really want to delete the 1400 pictures I have on my camera. Hope this info might help someone.

  • Why are my iPhone photos not appearing in photo stream?

When I first downloaded iCloud photos taken on my iphone automatically apeared in photo stream on my macbook.  This is not happening anymore.  I have automatic photo steam enabled in settings and iphoto preferences.

    HI ...
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Photo Stream then reselect it then restart the Mac.
On your iPhone tap Settings > iCoud
Switch Photo Stream off then back on then restart the device.
Restart your device: Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears.  Slide to power off.  After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

  • Photos not appearing in iPhoto when importing from SD card

On the first instance of using my camera to import photos to iphoto, I used the SD card reader integral on the new iMACs; this worked fine - all photos appeared, I selected import and there they were. Since then, when I insert the SD card, it appears on the desktop and iPhoto launches. Iphoto then shows all the photos on the card that were previously imported, but not any new photos taken. If I open the SD card itself, the new pictures are there. So, why is Iphoto now not recognising new photos that I've taken?

Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • IPhone does not appear on iPhoto

I have a problem with a couple of iPhones in combination with iPhoto. When I plug the iPhone in my iMac (late 2009), it gets recognized with iTunes and the synchronisation process starts. Everything is fine, however iPhoto does NOT notice that an iPhone is connected. Also the "Image Capture" app does NOT see the iPhone. A quick search showed me that a lot of people have the same problem, f.e.: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2251952?start=45&tstart=0
I was wondering is more people are facing the same problems and what the correct solution would be?

Hmmm.... interesting conundrum.. try restarting all devices, computer, iphone, etc. and give it another go.  Other than that, try going to finder and seeing if it recognizes the device, and see if you can get the photos that way.

  • Photos not appearing on iPhoto when uploading to iDVD, facebook, yahoo

When I try to put photos on iDVD, Facebook and Yahoo mail, the iphoto continually searches for thumbnails. I have no problem with imovie. The only way I can move photos is if I send them to the desktop. I have searched for the correct settings to trash in my library/preferences, but it does not exist. Memory is getting small, but there seems to be no problem with video on iMovie.

  • Iphone does not appear in device list in itunes?

    Cant sync my iphone

I have two iPhones (iOS 4.3.5 (8L1) & 4.3.4 (8K2)) that do not appear in iTunes. For both phones, I have followed all steps at
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/itunes/
except re-installing iTunes which seems like a ridiculous thing to do. I have updated my iMac to Lion (Mac OS X 10.7) and have the latest iTunes 10.4 (80). Also, my two iPhones do not appear in iPhoto 9.1.5 (615) either.
Since I rebooted my iMac I'd assume that is similar to your advice to stop and restart services.
    Any further suggestions?

  • HT5824 photos taken on my Iphone are not appearing in ICloud/IPhoto. ( to my knowledge, the settings are set for "share/upload"

Photos taken on my Iphone do not appear in ICloud. I've checked the settings but am unable to determine
what, if anything, I need to do inorder to syn the photos.
Technically, I need to review the settings on my Iphone and ICloud that will enable a seamless transfer of photos.
Additionally, I need to review the computer (microsoft)setting that enable a sync of photos with ICloud.

Everything is fine, because there is no web application for photos at the moment. These are the options to view your Photo Stream:
-On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your photos will appear in the Photos app in the Photo Stream album.
-On your Mac, they appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture.
-On a PC, your photos download to the Photo Stream download folder. By default, this folder is located at C:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream. You can change this location by visiting Photo Stream Options in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
-On Apple TV, your photos will appear in the Photo Stream view under Internet in the main Apple TV menu after you sign in with your iCloud account.

  • IOS4 photos do not appear in iphoto

    HI!!
I have an iphone 3g with iOS4. After upgrading, photos taken from my iphone camera or even downloaded from the internet do not appear in iPhoto when I try to sync. I get a blank space with an outlined frame. Any fix? I have all updated software.

    Greetings,
Ensure all your software is up to date (Apple Menu > Software Update).
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
Home > Library > Caches (I remove the whole folder. It will be re-generated upon restart.)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
If the issue persists try importing using the Image Capture program found in the Applications folder.
If image capture works then try rebuilding your iPhoto Library following this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638. Use the bottom 3 rebuild options.
If Image Capture does not work then there may be an unreadable picture in the camera roll which is blocking import. See this article for suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3195
    Hope that helps.

My photos taken from my iPhone are not appearing in my iCloud account home page. In fact there isn't even a photo icon on my iCloud homepage.
