IPhone pictures not sorted by date in Albums

I installed the new OS update in my MackBook Air and now I am using the new Photos app. I enabled the iCloud Photo Library function. So far so good, after a while now all of my Albums show on my iPhone, but the pics are all over the place, they are not sorted by date (oldest one first, newest picture last). When I go into any of the albums all of my pictures are disorganized; however, when I go into the same album on the Photos app in my Mac; there are just fine, sorted by date.
I wonder if there is a fix for this problem.

I have a similar problem. All of the photos in my All Photos album are out of sync the same way on both my Mac and iPhone. The Photos tab that shows photos by moments appears correct. When I go to iCloud.com and look at the All Photos album all of my pictures are shown in the correct order.
I looks like part of the resorting my be a bug related to translating images that have now been tagged with the key word 'Photo Stream', but I'm just speculating.

Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

Mail sent on iphone not sorted by date.

My icloud mailfolder for sent emails, on my iphone, does not sort my mails in chronological order. The first mail is from 2010 and only later does 2014 appear. In my inbox the mails do sort correctly. Also the sent mails sort correctly in mail.app on my Macbook, and when logged in to icloud mail with a web-browser. Does anybody know what caused it, and how to fix it?

I'm having the same issue. I can't figure out how it is sorted. There seems to be no way to tell it how it should be sorted.

One album will not sort by date

I have 5000 or so photos that I've spent weeks organizing and rating.
I set up smart albums with rules to include only specific keyword identified pictures then combed thru all the pictures asssigning keywords (e.g. Spouse, Scenery, Wildlife, People...etc).
Afterwards I rate the pictures. Following that I set up another smart album corresponding to each original and select only the 4 and 5 star rated ones. I then assign the keyword "Slideshow" to all those using batch update.
Finally I was organizing my final smart album by selecting all pictures with the keyword "Slideshow" in a single smart album.
As each collection of pictures was pulled into the slideshow album they remained sorted by date until the final one. The final group of photos went to the back of the bus. Nothing I do will make them properly merge with the rest in date sequence. If you look at the information the dates still are properly set, but they will not sort. When I looked for them in the library folder they are improperly sorted there as well.
Now here is the thing: I changed the title of each album before pulling it into the Slideshow album. I did this to assign a name and sequential number to each picture that made the final cut. On the album giving me problems I mistakenly first changed the name to the date instead of to text. I quickly realized my error and changed it back but evidently by then I had hosed things up. Even though the information still shows all the date info properly, it behaves as if the date was now the current date.
Is there any way to resolve this issue?

I can sort by Title and I can sort by Date however the entries do not set themselves up chronologically, for instance this is the sort sequence after I sort by Date.

ALL PHOTOS album not sorting by date???

For some reason the ALL PHOTOS album is not sorting itself by date and time of when the photo was taken. They appear very random!
I don't know why this is happening. The VIDEOS album is sorting properly by date and time of when it was taken. The BURSTS album is sorting fine too.
It would be nice if there was an option to sort the ALL PHOTOS album by date. I know you can select the PHOTOS tab at the top and see photos sorted by date and time and place but I primarily use the ALL PHOTOS album and it just looks messy when it's not sorted properly. This was my go to in iPhoto and it was always sorted and images were easy to find.
Anyone know of any work arounds?

The FAVOURITES and PANOS albums also sort by date and time too. So all the albums sort by time and day except the ALL PHOTOS album! Seems very strange! What's even odder is that the date range listed at the top of the ALL PHOTOS album would suggest that they are sorted by date!

Photo Library on iPhone no longer sorted by date (oldest to newest).

My photo library on my iPhone was sorted by date (oldest to newest) and since upgrading to iOS 5.0 it is no longer sorted this way. My specific events are still sorted that way, but when I view the entire library under "Photo Library" they are scattered and I can't find any pattern as to how they are sorted.
I went to Aperture which I use for my photo organization and under the Photos section where I see all my pictures they are sorted oldest to newest there. I have tried unsyncing photos to my phone and then resyncing, but that didn't work. It worked fine before iOS 5.0 and I was using Aperture then too.
Anyone have any ideas?

In the Events view, go to Menu > View > Sort events. In the roll-down menu, select By date.
Repeat it, if you also want to choose between Ascending or Descending sorting order.

1.1 bug: Import window from Canon XT not sorted by date correclty

This was in 1.0.1 as well. When I first plug my XT in and it goes to import the images, they are not sorted correctly. Clicking on the thumbnail will show that the image dimensions and date/time are that of the the thumbnail, and not the original image. If I close the import panel by clicking on the arrow in the top left, and then click it again to open the import again, it usually sorts the images correctly. If they are sorted wrong, one can't use the auto stack feature by time, because they'll be stacked incorrectly.

I reported this bug to Apple and it was marked as a Known Issue. I've also found that opening Image Capture.app before opening Aperture cases the imgaes to be sorted correctly.

My New Iphone 4 not connecting to data package.

Hello,
I just bought my new iphone 4 recentely from Apple. and i subcribed for 5GB data package with the service provider in UAE howeverm the service is splitted between my ipad and the new iphone but unfortunatelly the iphone still not connecting to the internet service ? i thought there was a problem with the micro sims but when i removed the sim from the iphone and checked it with my friend iphone 4 it worked perfectly ?
Any suggestions why my iphone refuses to connect ? i just received the phone less than 5 days.

My photos not sorted by date in photos

my photos are no longer sorted by date after change to photos when viewed in all photos. Also how do you change the order from oldest to newest down the screen. An option for black background would be nice.

The problems reported here occurred right after updating to iOS according to the users as TD mentioned.
It's a compatibility problem between iPhoto and iOS6 that the only workaround would be to possibly batch change the date of the photos in iPhoto . Therefore we'll have to wait for it to be fixed with either an iPhoto update or an iOS update, which ever Apple feels is the proper item to to be changed.
If they update iPhoto first (which is probably what they'll do) it'll be called an iPhoto problem.

Love Icloud Reminders but Why Not Sorting by Date?

Have Icloud reminders on Ipad Air. Love this application however all the reminders are only sorted by date when I click the "Scheduled" category.
Why is there no feature that permits this sorting outside of "Scheduled" category. Seems like a big flaw to me.

You may already know this but you can manually sort them by tapping Edit, then dragging the three stacked lines icon to the right of each reminder to a different position in the list, then dropping.

Bug or Feature: pictures not ordered by date and time taken

Is this a bug or a feature?
Pictures are not displayed in the sequence (order) they where originally taken (timestamp of the camera), when
- importing pictures via camera connection kit
- importing pictures via photo stream
- when editing pictures these.
I believe, Apple chose the date and time the picture file was created or last edited.
I'd rather have the pictures sorted by the time they were taken so I have all pictures in chronological order.

The order displayed is 'Date taken' and then 'Date modified', but any photo without a 'date taken' will appear at the bottom , not the top

IPhone will not sync photos from specific album - "Archive not found"

I have problems transferring some photos to my iPhone. The thing is, I can transfer photos from some iPhoto albums like "Last import", or "3 most recent events" with no problems, but when I select the album I have specifically created for the iPhone I get an error saying that "the necessary archive does not exist" (the exact phrase may be slightly different, as I use a localized version of MacOS). The forlder contains 59 pictures, all JPEG in 2592 × 1944, as are the pictures in the albums that transfer OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, I tried all the suggestions you all made. Nothing helped. Then, while helping my sleepy little boy go potty, the phone slipped out of my pocket and straight into the loo.
Oh well... Now the solution is just academic for me.

Uploaded pictures not categorized by date

I just got this computer. Trying to upload iphone pics to it and having trouble. Several times it's stopped and said it can't for unknown reasons. One time I stopped it after a half hour and it downloaded 300pics but all into one folder in a jumbled order. When I click on a picture it has time and date stamp but it does not categorize into events like it looks like it should??

iPhoto uses the EXIF created date and what you are viewing via the Finder is the file created date. Those are two different entities. Open the Info drawer (Command+i) in iPhoto and check the date at the right for those photos to see if it's the date you took the shot or the file date.

I just upgraded to iPhoto 11. My events are not sorted in date order even though I have chose it to under the view tab????

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
