Iphone plays the same songs

Hello
I have a Iphone 3g 16GB phone, I have 717 songs on it.
I normally connect my headset and click it once to play songs the problem is, it plays only the same set of songs over and over again (the shuffle is off nor I dont have any third party app for it) When I open the Ipod it shows playing 1 or 717 songs then 2 of 717 songs but when I click on the headphone again to stop it and click on it again to play it, it plays the 1 of 717 songs but the same songs from the list.
please help

I have the exact same problem but perhaps even worse. This is not normal behavior as some people have claimed. When I pause a song then go out and do something else on the iphone, +as long as nothing crashes+, when I hit the headphone mic button it goes back to the same place. But if program crashes in the meantime and even sometimes while I'm playing (which happens often with maps and safari), it always starts over with the first song in my library, which I've now grown to hate after hearing the first few seconds 10 million times.
Somehow a crash elsewhere on the phone makes the iPod app forget where it was and reset everything, even changing to the "Music" playlist, regardless of where I was initially.
I believe people were complaining that if they do something else +in the iPod app+ (not other apps), like watch a video or audiobook, it loses its place in other playlists, starting over. This can be a real pain for audiobook playlists. iTunes should have an option to remember position in a playlist as well as within songs. Not that hard to add!

  • My iPhone plays the same song no matter which song I select. How do I fix this?

No there's nothing wrong with my itunes library. If I play different songs there's no problem with it. On my phone it plays only one specific song even if I tap on other song titles. I press the skip button and the numbers will change yet the song, title, artist and artwork stays the same. It's a nice song but there are other ones I'd like to listen to. I've tried to delete it but when I swipe it does nothing. I'm able to do this to the rest of my music all except for that one song. I've already tried the "hard reset", deleting all the music off my phone (the song remains), and uninstalling then reinstalling itunes on my computer before syncing. Can someone help?

    Turn off repeat.
This is covered in the manual.

Play the song, tap the screen, tap the repeat icon until it is white= off.

Why does my iphone keep playing the same song over and over instead of moving on to the next selection?

Because you have repeat on.  Turn it off.

  • My new iPhone 4GS won't switch songs when playing music. It just plays the same song over and over again. Is there a fix for this?

When I try to play music on my phone, it won't switch songs -- just plays the same song over and over again. This is true whether shuffle is turned on or not. How do I make this stop? This phone is brand new!

  • IRadio keeps playing the same songs

Has anyone else had an issue with iRadio playing the same songs in the same order when you select a genre? Everytime I select a genre to play, the songs that I hear are the same ones that I heard the last time I selected that genre and in the same order.  The first time it happened, I thought it was just a coincidence but it's happened 6 or 7 times now. Is there a shuffle setting or is this a bug?

I confirm your observation that iRadio plays the same tracks far too often and when it plays songs from my Library, one is blessed to hear commercials as a bonus.  Thus far, my expectations of iRadio has not been met, having to go back to Pandora which has their act together.  Nothing ventured, nothing lost.  Pandora app for iPad and iPhone also works well with Airport Express and Ford Sync.

  • I have a ipod nano, and I bought a Bose portable sound system, when I put my ipod in the unit and play my songs in shuffle mode, it plays the same song over and over, how do I get it to play in shuffle mode?

I have a ipod nano, and I purchased a Bose portable sound system to play my ipod on
but it will not shuffle the music, it will play the same song over and over, until I hit the
next song on the remote or do it manually. Does anybody have a solution?????

Sounds like the repeat setting has been enabled.  See your iPod's User Guide for information on how to turn it off.

  • How do I change the settings on my ipod so that it plays continuous music.  Right now, it plays the same song over and over, even if I select the shuffle icon.  It used to show the continuous play icon, it doesn't anymore.

Right click on a movie(in iTunes), and click "get info" then go to album artwork and add the artwork that you want...

  • How do I make all my apple devices play the same song at the same time?

I went to a party once and one of their family members was in charge of music. They used iTunes on a laptop and used their wifi hub with itunes, they then had all Apple devices connected to the laptop (through wifi) and played the same song in every room. How did they do it? If so please let me know as I have a party coming up soon!
    thanks

can I buy one of these
    Yes, if you want to.
You can buy any of these, or other devices as long as they say they are AirPlay compatible and they will work.
and then it would work for all round the house or do I have to buy one for every room?
It will work whenever your wifi signal is.
If you want music in a room, you need something for that room. Or turn up the volume and hear it in the next room also...

  • My apple tv continues to play the same song from a playlist that is on shuffle.

My apple tv continues to play the same song from a playlist that is on shuffle. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

I do not see anything there. I have a left arrow and song title on top with a list icon.  Nothing on the bottom but the direction arrows, pause button and volume.

  • My ipod touch will only play the same song over and over unless you manually fast forward?

My ipod touch will not shuffle through the songs. It just plays the same song over and over.  All that shows at the top is the info picture.  How do I fix this?

    Do this:
    Play a song.
Tap the screen once so you see the scrubber.
To the left of the scrubber, there's a set of two arrows going in a circle - if it's blue, it's set to repeat.
Click on it once to make it white - no repeat.

  • Always plays the same song

When I want to listen to one of my play list (on shuffle or not) it always plays the same song over and over and does not go to the next song in the list.
I tried re-initiating my ITouch but it has not solved the problem. I also downloadeded the 3.o version of Itunes and the new upgrade in case that was the problem. Still an issue.
    Any advice?

you haven't got the 'repeat' button selected by accident have you? (sounds daft but people have done it before and not realised)
tap the screen while music is playing to bring up these controls.
under the time and scrubber bar on the left handside, see those arrows? if they are blue (tapped once) it will repeat the whole sequence of songs (an album, a playlist, etc.) tap it again a '1' will appear on them. this repeats the current thing playing. tap it again to remove these settings.
the arrows on the right will be highlighted blue when it's set to shuffle.
the arrows on the left highlighted when it's set to repeat.

  • TS5181 Why does iTunes Radio play the same songs over and over?

I've been listening to the Chill Out Jazz station at work and love it, but it keeps playing the same songs over and over now...for weeks.  Is there something I'm doing wrong? I've found the same thing on the 80's channels...they just play the same 15 or 20 songs over and over.

There is a Repeat setting.  It can be set to repeat ONE (repeat current song), ALL (repeat current list), or OFF (do not repeat).  It is probably set for ONE.
On the nano's Now Playing screen, there is a symbol that looks the two arrows in a loop.  You may need to swipe the screen to see it.  Tap that button to change the Repeat setting.

  • Somehow i/o playing the songs from my library in scrambled fashion...it keeps playing the SAME song...I can't find how to scramble the playing.

When I listen to ITunes now...the playlist isn't scrambled anymore....it plays the SAME song over and over. I can't find how to change it.

Are you also restoring from your backup? That sounds like what is happening or someone else has your Apple ID.
A backup to iCloud would have no way to add UK holidays to your calendar. Open Calendar, tap on Calendars at the bottom middle of the page and untick the ones you don't want.
