IPhone quit repsonding in middle of OS download

IPhone quit repsonding in middle of OS download with Itunes not it won't respond & Itunes doens't recognize the device as being attached.

I guess I didn't state it the right way in my original question. DURING the time that the songs were downloading from the iTunes store (internet) to my computer, Internet Explorer quit working and only 7 songs ended up on my computer. So I don't have the whole album, which I paid for, to put on the iPod or import to a CD.
