IPhone randomly switched time zones 3 hours ahead
the other night my phone read 3:21 at 12:21 am EDT it switched randomly and I had to manually reselect my location to reset it. Anyone else out there see this?
I have now experienced a similar behavior. Twice when I pressed the wake sleep button to wake my iPhone it has displayed different times. It flashes between 3 different times continuously for the few seconds before the phone goes back to sleep if you don't slide the slider. I found that it will stop on a time but not usually the correct version. And if I don't shut it down and restart it, the battery will deplete quickly and the phone will become very hot. I don't have any solutions or explanations but would like to know if someone else does.

Switching Time Zones. Problem in syncing calendars
I am currently having problems with syncing my calendars from my Touch to Outlook calendars. The problem is that when I put in a scheduled event and sync it to my computer, the time is always pushed forward by 2 hours when I look on my Outlook Calendars.
I have just recently switched time zones from Central to Eastern (2 hour time difference). I have changed the time zones for my iPod Touch and computer to the Eastern time zone. Yet it is still not syncing up the times properly.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here?hi once more:)
maybe check you j2ee too:
log on to
http://server:port/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
then choose system properties for your server
inside you'll find user.timezone
check if this value is ok

What is the easiest way to enter a calendar event on an iPhone in a time zone which is different to one in which one is at present? Can this synchronise with Outlook, which allows for time zones to be set manually for each event?
This was easy on my old iPhone 4S, on which (exactly as in outlook) you manually defined a time zone for each event - but this function no longer seems to work on my new iPhone 5S.What is the easiest way to enter a calendar event on an iPhone in a time zone which is different to one in which one is at present? FOX CLOCKS not giving correct time. Central time is 2 hours ahead of the actual time
sorry not an Atomic clock issue I read your post wrong
actually last night I tried to set my clock back to the time without Daylight savings and it would only let me set it to 1 or 3 am but not 2.. I noticed this, but I would wait till Sunday is over and see if this bug is only a one day issue which I have a feeling it may be, wait till 3am march 10th and see if this bug fixes itself I have a feeling it will -
Agent Real Time Displays 1 hour ahead
Greetings all,
Agent Real time display are showing 1 ahead hour of clock system.
Anyone have a suggestion if this is a bug or configuration issue ??
I have attached a screenshot to simplify
UCCX: 7.0Hello Leonardo,
Could you please check if the time display by the Real Time Reports is the same time of the server??
Also I would like to know if the server and the agents are configure to use the same time zone?? -
A few weeks ago I noticed that everything past 3/8 was an hour ahead, and I assumed once daylight savings time changed it would all jump back. It hasn't, and I don't know how to continue scheduling events or if I should change them all. I read that (a few years ago) the suggestion was give it 24 hours to adjust??
I think this problem is more complex. Background - UK clocks went back at the end of October; the USA went back one week later. I am in the UK and my Outlook calendar contains appointments created in the USA.
Someone in the USA created a recurring appointment before any clocks went back. In Outlook everything is correct. The meeting times are the same each week except for the one week between the two clock changes when, quite correctly, the meeting shows up one hour earlier. When I sync with my iPhone, the meeting shows at the same time every week regardless - this is incorrect.
Someone in the USA created a recurring appointment in the week after the UK clocks went back but before the USA clocks did. Outlook correctly shows the first occurrence as one hour earlier than all the following occurrences. Unfortunately - and this is the really nasty bit - the iPhone shows ALL the appointments one hour earlier than they should be. The only one that is correct is the first one.
This is a nasty bug and something that Apple needs to fix. -
Updated Software on N73 Time is +1 Hour ahead
As per title really, after sucessfully installing the newer software for my UK N73 o2, I have deleted my Sim contacts (very clever!)
But my concern is that the clock is now showing as London England +1
I now can't find the "Automatically adjust daylight saving" feasture that was on it before, I have had tomanually adjust the clock to it's proper time, and then get prompted if I have changed time zone, so when the clocks go back in Winter 1 hour, will it automatially adjust?

iPhone V 2.2This is actually an improvement so you have no need to worry.
I usually have my E65 on 'auto update' as the network I use supports this feature but I disabled it and saw "Athens +3" as my timezone.
I then altered the date to November and checked again and it said "Athens +2" so I'm thining they've programmed the time software to alter the DST setting for you automatically without any manual intervention from yourself.
Also this improvement means if you add cities to the 'World Cities" list. The time there is accurate too. Before (on my N70), it never altered my world city list to account for DST. -
Iphone not recognising time zone
My iphone has stopped recognising the time zone in which I am in. Under settings/date/time - if the automatic time zone update is on, it just goes in circles. So Date and Time on my phone are incorrect and my calender is not correct, however all my apps are correct. Problem started this afternoon but date is reset back to Nov 5 and time is 9 hours and 14 mins too early.
Tried.. resynching, tried taking the sim card out, tried upgrading to latest software 6.01. Nothing has worked. ideas welcome :-) Only fix I found so far is to manually set the time which really irritates me.When you turn on "Set Automatically" for the time, are you in a good WiFi and/or cellular coverage area?
Using "Set Automatically" would be best if only it worked (of course). -
Date and Time sync 8 hours ahead!!
Hey peepl...
I'm not a complete vegetable when it comes to the MAC but my iMAC's problem has me mashed...
I reformatted my hard drive recently so that I could put boot camp on (soiling my MAC with windows software!!) and then restored everything from my Time Machine backup but ever since I did that the time (and date) on my computer is 8 hours ahead of the real time even tho it's supposed to be syncing automatically with apple.asia...
I know I can manually select the time in "Date and Time" in preferences but I prefer to keep it synced.
I thought it was a problem with my firewall so I changed a few settings but it keeps on doing it.
Can anyone help???? It's rather p@ss@ing me offThanks for trying to help mate. I actually solved the problem late last night after noticing something. It seems that Windows in Boot Camp time was set 8 hours ahead which seems to have meant that every time if fixed the time on here, when I rebooted in windows in put it 8 hours further ahead.
But it ALSO meant that when I tried to sync the time to apple.asia (for some strange and weird reason) the server returned that time as being correct (the one that was 8 hours ahead). I still don't understand it but at least (I think, and hope) it's fixed. :S
thanks again for taking the time to try and help out Daniel... -
well, i finally made it thru the maze that is apple security, matched all the password rules, and never using the same password twice only to be shut down again when i tried to update my wife's iphone. after two hours i get a message that says its cancelling the back up. No other messages or errors or anything. Just cancelling the backup. This has happened consistently 5 times.
Do these updates work for anyone?
What is necessary. The update requires approximately 3GB of storage space.
Tap Settings > General > About
Swipe down. You'll see: Available
If it's less than 3GB's you need to delete apps, photos, etc to free up storage space in order to udpate to iOS 7. -

IPhone 4S Calendar Event Defaults to Incorrect Time Zone
My iPhone, Win7 PC is set for Eastern Time. I use Outlook/Exchange and the Outlook calendar in Options is set for Eastern Time as well. I never had any issues until recently. My iPhone syncs with the Exchange server using ActiveSync.
A few weeks ago I was out west and changed my Win 7 O/S time zone to Pacific Time. I did not change anything in Outlook or on my iPhone. The iPhone has always been set for “Set Automatically” (Settings/General/Date & Time). Also, in Mail, Contacts and Calendars my Time Zone is Set for Montreal (where I live) with Time Zone Support “On”. I have never changed this from the day I got the iPhone. Whenever I travel the time zone automatically switches. When I came back from the west coast my phone switch back to Eastern as it should and I manually set the Win 7 O/S to Eastern as well.
Now for some reason, when I create a calendar event in Outlook (i.e. on the desktop) the event shows up correctly on the iPhone (example: a meeting for tomorrow at 2:00 PM Eastern shows up as tomorrow at 2:00PM on the iPhone). However, when I “edit” the calendar event on the iPhone, the time shows up as 11:00AM and the time zone is Los Angeles (3 hours apart from Montreal). You can just imagine how this is causing me havoc as I do business in different time zones and have to reschedule meetings often.
I have tried to set the time zone to something else and then back to eastern or Montreal. It makes no difference. When I create a calendar event directly on the iPhone the default time zone is Montreal and it shows up correctly on both devices.
Any ideas what’s going on?Hi Song&DanceMan,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
Issues with calendar time zone can be very frustrating. It sounds as though the Time Zone Support feature may be affecting these events. Please use the attached article for more information on Time Zone Support.

Time Zone Management iCal and iPhone
I have a vacation coming up from California, to paris, to london, to Ireland, to Chicago,to Detroit and finally California. I think that's 5 time zones. I have all of the events schedule in times that would reflect the time zone that I will be in. But there are lots of settings in ical and the iphone (no/yes time zone support, floating time or time zone of the event.
How do you travelers set this stuff up and use it effectively?A restore of my iphone solved my problem.
