Iphone Replacement for baseband Issues

Hello every one this is my first question here ... Since I am in Egypt and we don't have authorized Applecare/store here I would like to know if there is any issues in my iphone and it's no longer in the warranty,I had a hardware issue (No IMEI/Firmware Blank), that might need a replacement for the phone by paying about 159$ difference (as I heard) ... if the iphone has been fixed before this issue (No IMEI,Firmware Blank) occured since the battery needed to be replaced .... Would I be able to do the replacement for the Iphone itself from apple event it's fixed before from another third party ??
I am using Iphone 5 ios 7.1.1

If a third party opened the device, Apple will not service or replace the device any longer even as the advertised discounted prices. If they did, this would require them to warrant your device for someone else's work, which they will not do, so in your case, you will only have third party options for service at this point, or you can purchase a new phone.

Whats up guys,
My iPhone 4 has this exact same problem as a lot of people, no one can hear me during calls. I smacked the phone around just a bit and after a couple hits it works, but only for a minute or two, then it goes back to the mic not working.
I tried cleaning it and everything like you all did, still no luck.
My apple warranty has expired, I wanted to ask all of you that If I take it to apple, and the tech screens the phone, and he/she finally comes to the point of replacing it, will I have to pay for it?
I find this widespread problem ridiculous to say the least as this spontaneously just started happening.

Your math is off. Apple didn't sell 120 million iphone 4s. By now they probably sold around 4-6 million.
But those 200 posters don't represent the whole population of iphone 4s owners, since many of those who have the issue never visit apple forums.
To make a better calculation get the number of people who visit apple forums REGULARLY, from that number, subtract people who don't own iphone 4s. ONLY then divide that number by 200 posters. That would give you a more accurate estimate.
P.S: The issue does seem to be widespread.

Replacement for sound issues?

I am experiencing the issue with the sounds while in sleep mode. I have an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow. Has anyone been able to get a replacement for this issue or is it not even worth driving the 30 minutes to have them not even replace my phone? Thanks

Listen, this issue is on ALL 3GS phones. Getting it replaced for a refurb is way less than worth it... I am confident that this issue will be addressed in a future firmware update... Just wait it out.

Less than a month ago I had to have my iPhone replaced and due to the technicians thinking something that didn't happen happened I had to pay £209 for a replacement phone. Now a friend dropped the phone, cracking the screen. What do I do? I can't put any more money into anything. I'm a student and had to scrape every penny to sort that out. I have nothing left. But I can't accept there is no support for a phone I paid for a month ago for when this happens. Come on apple and users as I cant afford to pay for anything unless I go a week without food!

You mean it's probably not a "broken" wifi chip.
Take it to an Apple store and have them check it out.

IPhone 5 freezing/crashing still replaced for free if out of Warrenty?

Not actually a Hardware question but they're isn't a more relivant sub-section.
My iPhone 5 seems to keep turning it self off (does not reboot and turn on afterwards) freezing, crashing and generally being laggy. I've tried restoring etc, etc.
I've booked an appointment at the Apple Store tomorrow in hope of getting it replaced, hopefully for free? It's out of warrenty as I got it on day of release but seeing as it's not accidental damage etc and a software issue should I expect to get it replaced for free?

Hello, I have been having issues with my iPhone 5C for about a month now. I have unlimited everything, including data, & so randomly, starting about 2 weeks ago, my data basically does not work for any apps, besides like iMessage & Safari. So like if I have full LTE signal, I can try to open the Instagram app, and it will tell me "no internet connection", & it tells me that with ANY app, besides iMessage & Safari. Which is super frustrating, especially when I try to use like Maps or something & it jut does not load, & tells me that "there is not an internet connection", so I have to use apps & stuff only on wifi, in order for them to work. I went to the Sprint store, and had them try and update the data profile, reset data network, soft reset, etc (they basically did everything that I did), & they could NOT figure out what was wrong with my phone. So, they looked into my warranty information, and told me to take my phone to the Apple Store, and just get a replacement & that it would cost me only $50, since it is still covered under warranty. I am not up for an upgrade until April of 2016, & as far as I know, when it comes to replacements, Apple will either give me a new/refurbished iPhone 5C as a replacement. I don't really mind having to pay a little extra if I have to, in order to get a 5S , & I also don't care if the 5S would be either new or refurbished. So, my question is, could I maybe get a 5S as a replacement, instead of another 5C?

Due to a water accident I went to Apple and they sold me a replacement for my Verizon-Issued iPhone 5. If I understand correctly, Verizon's iPhone 5 was shipped to customers unlocked. Is the phone that I got from Apple as a replacement (and I was told that I was getting exactly what I already had) unlocked? I really need to know as I am about to go overseas.

This was told to me by Apple Store reps... They have asked to contact Apple support help line .. nobody answers there.. I am stuck! There is no email id that i can find either to contact Apple support

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

For each mail account, along with designating a primary SMTP server, you should be able to just turn off any and all other SMTP servers you have listed. In that case, if there is a problem with comcast, the message send should just fail.
Also make sure your comcast smtp settings are correct (port, likely 587 but might be something else for comcast, whether you should be suing SSL or not, do you need authentication or not).

Hey everyone. I have an iPhone 4S that needs replacing due to obvious hardware issues (shuts down randomly on its own). I have shown the panic.plist reports that it generates on another forum and they have confirmed the kernel and hardware problem.
Since replacing it is the only way to go for me, I was wondering whether Apple still offers the option to upgrade to the next model when going to replace a phone with warranty. What I mean is, if I go to an Apple Store and ask to replace my handset for a new one (with my warranty/receipt) will I be offered to upgrade to an iPhone 5 for an additional fee? Can I ask for this option?

Limit on replacing phones for warranty issues?

Is there a limit on replacing iPhones due to warranty issues? I've returned one phone already because the silent switch stopped working, and now on the new phone the camera is in the "infared" mode that's been discussed on the camera forum.
I'm hesitant to take the phone back for every little problem because a lot of places have a limit of how many times you can take a product back and still get a free replacement.

I don't believe that there is any limit set on warranty phones. I think as long as the product is still within it's factory one year warranty phase, they will swap you for defective iPhones.

You cannot get the screen replaced for free...that is an out of warranty accidental damage issue. The iPhone 4s will be replaced with another for $199 at an Apple store genius bar. Be sure to make a backup of your content, best done in iCloud so the Apple genius can restore your content to the replacement iPhone.
