  • IPhone replacement question

I had the dust under the screen problem and just got an email confirming "Replacement Product Shipped". It's shipping FEDEX from Middleton, PA. Does anyone know if I'm getting a brand new or refurb? I thought it was also strange I shipped it there UPS and its returning FEDEX!

Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone. There should be no way to tell the difference. The exchange will be under the same warranty period as the iPhone being exchanged.

  • Question for getting iPhone replaced

I have a question for those who had to replace their iPhone with a 2nd or 3rd iPhone under warranty due to problems.
How did you go about taking care of this? I have an Apple Retail store just a few miles from me. Do I go there or do I need to call Apple Care first?
I am having problems with my iPhone. Yes I have all the latest updates, etc.
    Thanks for you help.

I'm sure they don't deny walk-ins..but to ensure that you get the attention you need. It's recommended that you do. Believe me, I walk into my Apple Stores..(I have 2 less than 3 miles from me)..and you wouldn't believe the customers there with their iPhones asking questions about this and that...! I mean they're all not "technical questions" either. Anything from BT to what case is better, etc.
So, if you want their undivided attention.. I'd make the appointment.

  • Apple Care iPhone Replacement Quality Question

For the people here who have gotten their iphones replaced thru apple care for whatever issue it may have been, did the replacement unit contain any defects (cosmetic, dead pixels, dust, "bad" screen) or was the replacement unit sent 100% defect free? I am asking because I am wondering whether the replacement phones that apple sends are troubleshooted and screened more extensively that the ones sold in stores. Although obviously the same phone, I could see that it would be against Apple's financial interest to send the customer a phone with some new defects only to have that unit returned again.

Not sure about apple care replacements. Since the iphone is still so new they may just send out new ones instead of refurbs because they don't have any yet. I got mine replaced at an apple store one time and they brought out a brand new one and I watched as the apple guy tore off the wrap and opened it for the first time. The guy also said that apple was collecting defective units or damaged ones to study.
What was your issue with sending it in?

  • IPhone replacement unit (Black Box unit)

I just bought an iPhone 4s, when i activated the handsfreespeaker(loud speaker) was not working,it was not even 24 hours since i bought, i went to the store they also confirmed it arrived with broken speaker, they gave me an option to replace my iPhone with Replacement iPhone which particularly comes for replacement purposes, but i'am curious the replacement iPhone come's in a black box unlike the newly bought one. Idon't believe that replacement iPhone's are newly made they might be refurbished. It was arrived broken to the store i didn't even use the phone properly, so do i have any option to get a new fresh iphone 4s rather than the black boxe'd iPhone (replacement unit) because it's not my fault at all. What are the alternatives which i have in this case, i really don't want go for black box iPhone 4s. ARE THE BLACK BOX IPHONE 4S GENUINE?

There is 30 days return period in US for every iPhone, just return it and get another one. You running a bit of a risk that will be someone else's return, but heck that is what you want. I think sentiment like yours is the reason, that Apple does not sell refurbished phones (everything but ...). Me personally had luck with refurbs (so far), didn't have much luck with new stuff last couple of years. By the way warranty is the same. I hope mr solution answered your question.

  • IPhone replacement/upgrade? Help?

Hello, I'm not going to try to articulate this with excessive grace, as I've spent a LOT of time with customer service. Like a lot.
Ok so basically I got my iPhone 4s in November of 2012. I got my iPhone replaced in September of 2013 for speaker problems, but I have had no troubles since; until as of late. With my first paycheck (April first) , I immediately went out an bought the new  Apple Headphones. Long story short, turned out my headphone jack was broken. There is absolutely no sound, though the headphones are detected. I headed to the apple store on Sunday the 6th, where, honestly,  I expected to have my iPhone replaced. I assumed, since the phone was just about six months old, it would be under warranty. The first man I spoke to, after hearing about my issue and reviewing my case, immediately said that apple was at fault for this issue, and that they would replace my phone for me. The real genius didn't agree. After testing my phone, restoring and restarting it, he concluded that it was "very odd".  He then assessed that my phone had absolutely no damage whatsoever, so he didn't know how the jack would have broken (a flaw in the product itself). He then brought to my attention that after replacing your phone, you have only ninety days warranty. Which, awesome. Well, we shortly discussed my options; paying $199 for a replacement iPhone 4s or putting the full value of my 4s ($199) towards a 5s. I quickly decided that there was no way that I would be paying for another 4s after my repeated speaker issues. So I still have my old phone for now. Then today, my iPhone started going REALLY wacky. Whenever I play music, it plays a different song than it says it playing, when I skip a few songs flash on the screen, same with when I go back. I can't really describe the exact actions cos it's so glitchy. But basically I finally got a hold of the customer service phone line and they said they they couldn't override the Genius' diagnostic of expired warranty, but do you think there is any way I can get an upgrade/replacement for cheaper? My phone's pretty new,and I treat it so well, I don't know why this happened, and I feel it's really unfair that I should have to pay full price to replace a flawed product.

Question:  Did you purchase AppleCare with your phone?  If so, your phone should be covered until November 2014 (based on info you provided).
If you didn't, the Limited warranty on your phone ended after 1 year.  November 2013 (based on the info you provided).
I'm not sure I understand the problem?  If you have exceeded the warranty, there is the Out of warranty replacement option.  Or, you could use an upgrade with your carrier if you are eligible.

  • I had my iphone replaced yesterday and wondering if i am suppose to set up as a new iphone or restore from the backup of the iphone

i had my iphone replaced yesterday and wondering if i am suppose to set up as a new iphone or restore from the backup of the iphone

Actually, they will both accomplish the same thing on a new
(different).  The difference is that setting up new will lead
you through all the questions and such and restore from backup
    will just do it.
So, if there are some things that you may want to change
as far as syncing, mail, etc., set up as new. If you want
nothing to change, go the restore route.

  • Beware apple store iPhone replacement program

Beware apple store iPhone replacement program:
We took my daughters broken iphone 4 into an apple store and was told that the damage was not covered under warrany but for only £120 we could get a replacement iphone 4
the problem being when they helped her set  up the replacement Iphone 4 they installed os7 as the opperating system rendering the phone useless as it now runs slow, freezes & cannot use messaging at all etc
we went back to the store hoping they could HELP  &  were told that the iphone should not have these problems & to do a full restore; as it turns out the processing chip cant handle os7 which becomes Very apparent & now the store staff are suggesting that they will upgrade the phone to something newer & give us a £60 discout towards a new phone for something we paid them £120 48hr earlier.
Its not the Apple experience we have all come to love can anyone suggest how we might restore the phone to an earlier opperating system

That's nonsense. I have 2 iPhone fours and both work just fine with iOS 7. As mentioned take ti back.

  • I got my iPhone replaced for £209 and then told by a friend that they've cracked it's screen now. What do I do?

Less than a month ago I had to have my iPhone replaced and due to the technicians thinking something that didn't happen happened I had to pay £209 for a replacement phone. Now a friend dropped the phone, cracking the screen. What do I do? I can't put any more money into anything. I'm a student and had to scrape every penny to sort that out. I have nothing left. But I can't accept there is no support for a phone I paid for a month ago for when this happens. Come on apple and users as I cant afford to pay for anything unless I go a week without food!

Why would Apple do anything for a damaged iphone?
You would have to pay for a replacement

  • What should I do about all these iPhone replacements?

    Hello All,
I am currently on my 3rd iPhone replacement. The first one had a crack between the chrome and the headphone jack, the second one has an incorrectly installed bezel and is causing both a light leak, and a sharp edge (The plastic also cracked in the same place as the first phone).
I really need to know what you guys think I should do at this point. I have never in my life had to replace an electronic device so many times and quite frankly it's getting to the point where the time needed to deal with this is becoming beyond ridiculous.
What do I do if the phone coming on Tuesday has a problem, do I just keep calling Rogers and getting them to send me new phones until one actually works even though it takes me almost two hours worth of my time to deal with, and ship the phones back.
I really, honestly want my money back despite how much fun I have had with my phone, but due to the contract and such it simply isn't an option.
Should I take the next phone they give me and if there is a problem (one that I can look past for now), should I call Rogers, explain the problem but refuse a new phone for 6 - 9 months in the hopes Apple will deal with all the quality issues?
Should I go higher (straight to Apple head office) and deal with it at that level?
Basically, I would like to hear your ideas as to what would be the best solution at this point. I don't want to spend every week on the phone getting a new iPhone sent to me, but more importantly I'm concerned that it will break after the year of warranty leaving me to pay out of pocket or go without a phone.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi,
My phone was stolen 3 weeks back and I too had the same issue. Find my iphone was turned off, i don't know how.. I put the phone in lost mode and then erase mode. I brought a new iphone 4s and after 2 weeks, suddenly all of my contacts got disappeared from my iCloud, Mac Contacts, iPhone without any reason. I tried to do a restore iPhone and the contacts came back but disappeared in fraction of second. Used Backup from old data and the same had happened.
Out of no reason I checked with photos and suddenly, I could get the photo of the guy who stole my iphone. I immediately synced that pic to iPhotos. that displayed all info(date, time, camera used, flash on) except the location services.
I logged into iCloud.com to see if the phone got erase. But it still showed erase mode activated. Phone will erase the data once it is connected to internet. But without connection to internet, that guys pics would not have come. I guess there is something about Activation lock to be still active and deactivate which does not work properly.
Any one also had the same issue, please assist.

  • HELP! ...I went to the apple store to get my iPhone replaced. When I left, happy & all, I realized I did not erase the data off of the iPhone I got replaced!! Does the apple store reset those iPhones so that information isn't stolen or tampered with?

I didn't know you were supposed to delete your information when you might get your iPhone replaced...

First, please understand we are not Apple employees on this forum, and we are not authorized to speak for Apple.
Having said that, here are two thoughts:
    1.  Did you sign a form when you left your old iPhone with Apple?  You might consider reading that form.  It may help.
    2.  You might consider telephoning the Apple Store and ask them about resetting your old iPhone.

  • Can i get an iphone replacement in an apple store if i bought it online?

my iphone 4s has always been shutting down randomly ever since i bought it. Since I bought it online, will i be able to get an iphone replacement in an apple store?

Schedule an appointment with the Genius bar and let them evaluate the device.  Where it was purchased (online or in store) is not relevant.
Keep in mind though, warranty and service are only available in the country where the device was originally sold by Apple or their official reseller.

  • Do you have to make an appointment to have your iphone replaced?

For those who have gotten there iphone replaced at the apple store...
I'm in sort of a rush to replace my broken iphone. So I was wondering is it mandatory to schedule an appointment with the genius bar or could i just walk in and tell them my problem and have it replaced. Reason being is I plan on taking a bus all the way to the another city tomorrow just to get it fixed. But it would be pointless if they tell me I had to schedule one before they take a look at it once I get there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is an Apple store nearby, it is best to make an appointment. Having to take a bus to another city doesn't sound like there is an Apple store nearby.
Or you can call AppleCare at (800) 694-7466 and handle everything over the phone. If it is determined that your iPhone needs to be exchanged under warranty, AppleCare will ship the exchange to your door. You must provide a credit card number in case your existing iPhone is not returned. You use the same box that is used to ship the exchange to return your existing iPhone. The return shipping label is located below the shipping label to you along with a phone number for the carrier to call when the box is ready to be picked up. A small paperclip is included to remove the SIM card from your existing iPhone, and tape to reseal the box.

  • Am I still eligible for an iPhone replacement..?

I've had this phone for around 2 years? Anyways, I was just wondering if I could still be eligible for an iPhone replacement and I did purchase the Apple Care which expires in April 2013. The reason why I'm asking is because during the summer of 2012 I had to replace my iPhone due to a microphone issue and I did get a new one.
However, the SAME exact problem is occuring again (Jan 17. 2013) and since my Apple Care hasn't expired yet.. am I still eligible for a second iPhone 4 replacement without any charge?
Thanks in advanced! I appreciate all your answers...!

Due o he device bein out of warranty it is not eligible for a free replacement. It is eligible for an Out of Warranty Replacement at the normal cost, $149 for the iPhone 4 and older models, $199 for the 4S.
