Hi,
My IPhone 5 doesn't turn on at all.
I wanted to sell this BUT I have important data on it such as Pictures, chats and I was signed into social networks.
Is there a special way to delete my data as my phone doesn't turn on at all?

IPhone resets back to wallpaper randomly when I touch it.

the iPhone resets when to the wallpaper slider screen when i touch it at times. also, if i have the phone open and i try to raise or lower the volume, it resets as well.

I've had the latest software since it was released a few weeks back, but it only started yesterday. I did load a new app and it started after that, but i've deleted the app and reloaded my software to no avail.

Is there a way to retrieve information after iphone reset?

What happened was that I had an iPhone before and synced it with iTunes several months ago. And forgot about it.
Then I have received a new iPhone from my work.
Unthinkfully, I have plugged it in into my Mac just to copy some videos into it. All of a sudden, without even asking me, iTunes has immediately reset my new iPhone and restored all the info to the old one. WHAT? WHY? Not even aked me???
First of all I think this is outrageous, that iTunes takes full control of my devices without asking (I only later remembered, that there is this little setting, that tells iTunes not to sync devices automatically, but who could even think that it will not at least ask me if I want to do it - it is a completely new phone that was set-up on a different computer! Why it even does anything to it?
The question is - is there any way to restore any of those erased settings and messages?

iTunes does no such thing especially with an iPhone that has never been connected to a computer.
The first time you connect a new iPhone to iTunes that was or is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the new iPhone, or set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
If this iPhone has been synced with iTunes on another computer, when connected to iTunes on another computer a warning message is provided indicating the iPhone is associated with an iTunes library on another computer which must be accepted or declined before going to the next step. None of this is automatic with a new iPhone.
After syncing an iPhone with iTunes on a computer that is set to automatically sync when an iPod or iOS device is connected, the iPhone will be synced automatically when connected to iTunes on that computer only, not when connected to iTunes on any other computer.
An iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, so a warning message is provided when connecting an iPhone to iTunes that has been synced with iTunes on another computer that all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first which must be accepted.

IPhone resets itself when not in use

I have an original iPhone which has been updated to 3.0. Since the update I've noticed that the phone will spontaneously restart itself when not in use. When this happens I'll notice the screen light up with the silver Apple logo and then go blank. This will happen repeatedly. While this is going on I can't use the phone until I plug it into the computer. Once iTunes does it's thing the phone will return to normal for a while - sometimes a day or two - before repeating this behavior. I have reset and restored the phone but without solving the problem. Apart from this everything seems to be working properly.
Any ideas?

Have you tried restoring and setting up as a new phone (i.e., not restoring from a backup)? Sometimes those backups bring along whatever is messing up your phone.

Iphone resets, my whole network via airport!?!

I recently noticed that sometimes, my iphone 3g resets my network connection, on my MBP...?
it has been happening occasionally, for example: When syncing or updating I will remove the sim, and my macbook pro will lose its wireless connection for a second and my network hello message pops up...
What is the deal here? It has never been jailbroken, I have all up to date software.
I am not sure what is going on here, but it is not ok...
Bluetooth is off. everything else is set to default.
Why would this be happening? I have an airport extreme N with ethernet ports, but the computer is running wirelessly, WPA2, Full bars.
IT IS DEFINITELY THE IPHONE causing it, I can easily replicate it...
Is this some kind of bad bug, or feature to try to stop unauthorized tethering(which I have not done or tried) or what? Please help.

I am also running a airport extreme and have no problems with the network dropping when syncing my iPhone 3G.

Iphone reset to factory fittings, now itunes wont acknowledge iphone device

Hi i hope someone can help, i tried downloading the new itunes 10, and for some reason it reset my iphone to its factory settings, im pretty sure i backed them up at some stage however now when i plug my iphone in my computer its says the symbol for plugging into itunes, and yet itunes doesnt recognise the device at all? what do i do now?
I dont want to re-install itunes 10 in case it wipes my back-up files?

I just got off the phone with Apple tech support. The problem with that iPod Service is a problem with XP Service Pack 3, but can be fixed this way:
1. Right click on "My Computer", select "Properties"
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. in the Startup and Recovery section, click the Settings button.
4. Click the Edit byutton to edit your boot.ini file in notepad.
5. Look for "/noexecute=" in the file and change the word after the equals to "optin" (sorry - I don't remember what the original setting was anymore).
6. Save the file, close notepad, click the OK button on Startup and Recovery window, then reboot.
The warning message about the iPod Service should stop. Also, this helps with iPhones that are not recognized by Windows or iTunes after an install fails.

My iPhone was running low on battery about 14% so I plug it in and it shuts off, and resets itself. Why would my phone do this and what should I do about it? I lost all my information on my phone.

IPhone resets photo numbers every sync

This seems to be a new problem since I purchased iPhone 4. Every time I sync my photos it resets the file names back to img_0000.jpg. This is super annoying when it comes to organizing photos in folders as many times you end up with the same file name. Is there a way to make it do a continuous count like it used to do? Is this a bug? If so will it get fixed? New camera in iPhone 4 was very compelling until this.

IPhone resets when connected to iTunes

I have had an intermittent problem over the last 5 days with my iPhone 3G locking up and going into an endless loop of restarts. Initially the fault developed when disconnected from everything except the 3G network but now is manifesting particularly when connected to iTunes - it will operate fine when on the 3G network or WiLAN but when connected to iTunes it goes back into the loop of restarts - sometimes but not always.
It does the same when connected to any of my MacBook, iMac or Win XP machines, with different cables on each so I know it is not a desktop or cable issue.
I have tried resets of the phone, restoring the phone, restarting computers, etc. The endless loop can be halted by disconnecting the USB cable, but it returns when reconnected. In Win XP I get an "unknown error" message and a dialogue box that says iTunes is unable to connect to the iPhone " " (which is not my phone name).
All suggestions appreciated, before my employer takes back the trial iPhone and gives me back the old Blackberry.

hi! i'm a brand new iPhone 3G user (8/3). i did the initial install & synch on my laptop last week.
when i connected to my laptop last night, it asked if i wanted to update the software. i said no last night but earlier today say yes. it all seemed to go smoothly until this part where it said "verifying iPhone software" in iTunes. i let that run for 30 min or so but it was holding up everything else on my laptop so i finally disconnected the iphone.
the iphone didnt like that very much. i tried resetting with the power button (top) but nothing changed. when the iphone came on, all i saw was an iTunes icon and the connection cord on the screen. seems like apples way of telling me to re-connect so i connected to itunes again and it told me i'd have to restore everything. i clicked the button and again, it all went along smoothly until the "veryifying iPhone software" message again. i've been sitting in a holding pattern there for over 1 hour now.
i realized about 30 min ago that the iphone wasnt on so i turned it on. it stays on for 10 min or so then shuts off - so i turn it on again.
how can i get out of this holding pattern?

My iPhone ran out of battery and it asks to reconfigure the phone when I turned it on after recharging. I tried resetting however it didn't work.

Thanks for you tip. I restored the iPhone and at first everything was ok. Now my iPhone ran out of battery again, and AGAIN the date/time is reset. This *****! Can I somehow submit this as a bug so that it will hopefully be fixed with the next IOS release?

IPhone resets playing music and viewing Photo Album

My iPhone has started reseting to the main menu and the applications (photo album and iPod) at random when both are active. I hava also had several resets, I call them that because I don't know what the system is doing but the application simply quits and the phone goes back to the top menu. I have heard there is a problem with the latest version of the system so is there anything I can do to stablize the situation? The phone is working as it should be but the applications are not predictable.

The behavior you're describing where the application quits and you are taken back to the home screen is called "crashing".
The first thing you can try is resetting your iPhone. Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down until the Apple logo shows on the screen (about 6-8 seconds), then release the buttons.
If that does not help, you should restore your iPhone. Connect your phone to iTunes, let it sync, and then click restore. After your iPhone software is reloaded, you will be able to restore all your data from your last sync. You will have to re-enter some passwords, such as your voicemail password, wi-fi network passwords, and email account passwords.
If you continue to get crashes despite these measures, I recommend getting your iPhone serviced either by taking it to the Apple store or by calling 1-800-MY-iPHONE.

How to recover Photos after iphone reset

I have a 3g that was running a ios 3x before it crashed and was stuck in a apple logo loop when I took it to genius bar they said onlything they can do is put in DFU mode and reset (and they did that loading v4.2.1) I am now wondering if there is a way to recover photos that was on the phone from before my wife did not sync in several months. I do not have a mac only PCs. Thanks for you help

Pics taken with iphone?
They would only be in the backup that itunes makes when syncing. If the iphone has not been synced since the pics were taken, then they are gone.
It is important to sync regularly and import the pics from the iphone regularly as well.
Photo library pics should still be on your computer as that is where they came from in the first place.
