Yesterday night I made Back up of my iphone 4S.
Today When I tried to restore the back up, it restored only (contacts) and (my email account).
It did not restored any programs that I installed on my iphone.
There wrere many programs that I installed on my iphone.
How I can restore my iphone completely?
How I can restore my programs?

You need to sign into your account at the app store, go to purchased, and then download the previously purchased apps. This goes for songs as well.

I explain better my problem:
I just updated my iTunes software to the latest version (7.4.2).Then, considering i have the yellow triangle,I try to restore my iPhone from iTunes.
The process start, Itunes connect to server and download in about 4 minutes the image, but, after finish,get the following error: "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-48).Please check you network settings...."
I have no third part sw, i have used iphone without problems in the past...and now im offline.
What is the meaning of "ERROR 48"?

I been trying different thing and I finally found a solution to fix this PROBLEM GO into finder, GO on the Straus bar select GO to folder, then type /ect/ then select the file hosts and right click open with text edit and delete 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com and save and save to the desktop than drag it back it in to hosts file and replace it then restart your comp. then download iTunes again hope this help U out cause it work 4 ME

Replacement iPhone restore problems - only a very old backup

My partner lost her iPhone 4 and just purchased an iPhone 4S - she didn't want the new 5s (size). When she went to do a backup from her computer the most recent restore option is more than 18 months ago. She doesn't do frequent sync to iTunes but she has definitely sync her iPhone 4 this year on more than a few occasions. I had this problem (not this extreme) when swapping iPhones , recent sync is not in the list .
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Have her update her phone and try again. If the replacement phone is running a lower version of iOS than the one she backed up, the backup will not be shown when she attempts to restor it. (She can check the iOS version by going to Settings>Ganeral>About>Version.) Updating will update it to iOS 7.0.2.

i tried restoring my iphone 3g via itunes earlier as im giving it to a relative! whilst doing so an error code came up and restore didnt happen! didnt catch the error code (can i retrieve this)

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

Original iPhone Restore problem

My original iphone was working ok.
As days went by I noticed some odd things happening, all the mobile phone numbers not being displayed in the address book, telephone favourites showing the number but not the name of the person (e.g. 000 0000 (blank name).
So, I decided to restore my iphone, which i have done but the problem is now after the restoring completes it then displays the 'setup my iphone' window in itunes and I have to restore my iphone.
So i'm in this endless loop of restoring and then having to restore again and again.
Can anyone help??

It's a software issue. Apple obviously didn't test 2.0.2 and iTunes
Solution
All you need to do is when your on the restore screen of death select the backup NOT setup as new phone hit continue and then unplug the phone straight away as soon as the screen changes.
Plug it back in and it works fine iTunes will start recognising it as a phone that has already been restored a million #$#$#$ times. You won't need to reinstall anything apart from the music so long as the previous time around you actually let your restore complete. (IE: don't do this unless your phone is actually restored and it's just iTunes that does not recognise it as restored)

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
As stated, check Hosts file that it points to Apple and not anywhere else.

Iphone Restore Problem (Error 1011) Any Help?

I am (was?) the proud owner of a 25 day old iPhone. Yesterday I got the "unable to make calls need repair" message. I've been trying for hours to get my phone to recover using itunes. It downloads all the all the firmware (version 1.1.4) but just as it is about to finish I get a message
The iPhone could not be restored, error 1011.
Any help/suggestions?

we might not be thinking of the same notification. when your fone is in sleep mode and you press the sleep/wake button on top, do u always see a message that says something along "Your iPhone cannot make/recieve call. Please visit www.apple.com/support" (Emphasis on that last part.) have you contacted apple? have you reset your iphone. have you tried restarting your iphone (probably) have you tried to restore ion a different computer? i would try all of these before calling apple bc most likely that is what they will have you do.

IPhone Restoring Problem!!! Help needed!!

I found my old iPhone today and I am trying to wipe it or at least get past the passcode. First thing is that I can not remember the passcode and I have tried a lot of combinations, second, once i connected my phone to itunes, i was unable to restore it to a previous back up as i have 'find my iphone' turned on and I have been prompted to turn it off through my phone settings which I can not access as I can't remember my passcode. I have restarted the phone in safe mode, still nothing, i have reinstalled itunes and even attempted several internet 'tricks' which have not worked. I am incredibly frustrated and just want it wiped so i cant get rid of the thing, can anyone help??

Put the phone into recovery mode then it shouldn't have to ask you to turn Find My IPhone off. Here's how to put it in recovery mode. 1: Turn your computer on with itunes up and have the charger plugged into the computer but not your phone 2: Turn the phone complety off 3: Then hold down the home button and connect it to the charger that is plugged into the computer 4: Keep holding the home button until on the phones screen it has a picture of the charger going into a circle with itunes on it 5: Then on the computer it should come up with dectected device in recovery mode please restore. You might have to try it over again a few times. Hope this helped.

I restored the factory settings....the phone was on recovery mode...it was verified by itunes and all that..but in the end it again said that iphone has some problem and can not function right now.
after that when ever i connect it with itunes, it gives the message, it can not activate the iphone further, try again later or contact customer service.
What to do now?????? Customer service people say..it is hardware problem

If it's a hardware problem, then the phone will need to be replaced.
There is no magic that can fix a hardware problem.

Itunes closed after iphone restore and now wont open..what to do???

i was having some problems out of my iphone and had no choice but to do a "system restore" on my iphone 3G. As soon as the restore was done itunes closed and now it will not open. i have tried shuttin down and restarting my computer. I dont want to uninstall itunes because when my iphone restored it erased everything out of my phone and i need to put contacts pictures etc. back onto my phone because thats where i backed it up at!!! someone please help me!!! what do i do?!
