IPhone Restore question/help.
I'm in a bit of a situation here and want to verify that I did everything right.
My mom's iPhone 3G was completely locked up today: could not be powered down, could not do the reset where you hold the Home key and the Power button at the same time for longer than 10 seconds, nothing worked.
So I had iTunes on her computer updated to the latest version (has not been kept updated), hooked the phone up to her PC and waited for it to show up in the iTunes listing, clicked Restore on the summary page, clicked Okay on the screens asking if I'm sure, waited forever while it claimed to do a backup (more on this later) and then restored the software on the phone, then tried to re-load everything from the backup--and here is the problem, the most recent backup that showed up was from June of this year; not today!!
At this point everything was lost, but the phone itself was working again like it should (screen was responsive again, etc.), so I restored from this old backup and gave the phone back to my mom. Problem is, now she's angry and blaming me for losing a lot of photos and emails and text messages that were very important.
Was there a step I'm missing or something else that could have been done that would have saved her data, or was it totally destroyed anyway by whatever locked up her phone?

What SHE should have done is regular backups of the iPhone. If she didn't then the content is lost forever. If she did you can just restore her backup.

Iphone in recovery mode, and it disconnects every time I try to restore. HELP!!
I tried to update my Iphone with the latest software update, but it crashed during the update and was stuck for hours without getting any further along in the process, so i disconected it.
My phone is now in recovery mode.
When i tried to restore it there was a problem,
I plug the phone in,
it recognises the phone is in recovery mode, and tells me that it has to be restored before it can be used with itunes.
I then click restore, and get a message warning me that all data will be lost and the most recent software will be installed. I click ok.
It then says ''Extracting software...''
Then it says "Verifying Iphone restore with Apple..."
Then "Prepering Iphone restore..."
And then i hear the disconnecting/reconnecting noise, and then I get an error message saying that the phone could not be restored, ofter with different error codes. sometimes it says 21, sometimes 1600, or 1658 or sometimes it just says "iphone could not be found"
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the updated software,
i have deleted and reinstalled itunes,
I have tried all the different things i can find to mess with the USB ports,
I have swapped iphone cables,
I have done a hard reset on the phone,
and forced it into DFU mode.
I have attempted to restore my phone hundreds of times, and i am now getting desperate, and a migrane...
I dont have another computer, but i can go to a friends house and restore on her comp on wednesday, if i cant figure out a way to do it on my own computer.
Please help me, someone, anyone!tell me abt software version ...????

IMessage will NOT activate, even AFTER complete iPhone restore.. PLEASE HELP!
For the last couple of days I have had problems with my iMessage playing up. For the last two days however, it's completely stopped working. Previously used to work fine! Actions I have ALREADY undertaken to try and fix iMessage always resorting in some kind of error message (i.e. an error has occurred, or activation unsuccessful).
Specs: iPhone 5s, 16gb. Runing: iOS 8.0.2. Based in Australia.
Turning both Facetime and iMessage off, hard resetting iPhone and trying to activate them again

FULL restore of iPhone through itunes and restoring contents from backup, still didn't work.
Changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4. Tried to activate both via cellular network and wifi.
Let 'waiting for activation' overnight knowing sometimes activation takes up to 24 hours.
Checked time and date settings - they are set to automatic
EVERYTHING. Please understand there is nothing I have not tried, searching through hundreds of Apple threads.
After all of these tries I can only get to iMessage 'waiting for activation' where my email is ticked but won't work to send a message and my number is greyed out. That's the furthest I've gotten with no prevail.
Can some iPhone GENIUS please help!! I'm officially through trying it all!UPDATE:
Make sure that in 'mail, contacts & calendars' that under 'contacts' you have valid information in put for who you are (save your number in your phone and select it from your contacts menu to ensure that your iPhone has your details).
After days of not knowing, also exhausting all the possible steps, I decided to go as far as 'waiting for activation' and just leave my phone. It happened to be overnight.
I had 'no addresses' in the 'send and receive' category selected (I deselected my email address) and after about 8-9 hours, basically by morning - iMessage activated itself, checking my phone number and sending and receiving iMessages as per usual!
Yes, that's right - what I'm saying is if you've tried EVERYTHING like I honestly had, try the waiting game. It worked for me, I really hope it works for all of you too!

Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then follow these steps:
Sign in to iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to your account, then select the device to be removed.
Click the Erase button to erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, don't enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device is erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.

My iphone has been in verifying iphone restore for over 3 hrs please help
my iphone 4s was getting the 3194 error message and then the 2005 error message i used tinyumbrella to get it to finally go into restore mode but its been 3 hrs for 3 hrs its been stuck on verifying iphone restore for 3 hrs? what should i do, leave it overnight or disconnect it and try to start over please only reply if this has happened to you and you have successfully restored your iphone thank you
thank you for that ...my phone was already in DFU mode and thats why i was trying to restore it, it wouldnt restore it just kept saying verifying iphone restore and finally after 3 hrs of researching posting posts and reading posts i called apple and bought extended warranty for apple care for 70.00 and he helped me fix my phone over the phone safely and i didnt have to worry about wrecking my phone or making it worse, it was the best 70 i ever spent because i have been trying since last night to fix it i spent hours all day today and no one could help me

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

I had a very larger OTHER folder in itunes, Went and ask Apple rep at shop today and he advised to do a restore but 1st back..
I back up and then did a manual back to make sure it was done.
Then i started iphone restore, all done and now to restore back up.
But i get a error,
""Itunes could not restore the Iphone on marks Moblie Because the back up was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone that is being restored.""
My pc runs XP and software is up to date, checked this before back up.
Disable Anti Virus
Checked itunes is up to date. Ok
Unplug all leeds at back of my pc, except key board & mouse/monitor.
Unpluged Modem.

Activation requires a SIM card.
Activation issues are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken. If that is the case, no support can be provided here. -

IPod Updater 2005-10-12 released - WHY???
Why does Apple release an iPod Updater when a new iPod comes out? Isn't the iPod already up to date when it is released? I assume this is for the Mac side of things?
