Thanks for responding. I did go thru all of the trouble shooting suggestions and none of them worked. The final suggestion was to uninstall iTunes and then check to make sure no support programs remained. I searched my c drive and none of them could be found. Then I reinstalled iTunes. Is this right?
I want very hard here to avoid splitting hairs with you but with the way you worded your post I feel it best that I attempt to sumarize what must be done AFTER uninstalling the itunes program. In the articles that I listed for you it talks about unstinalling all other associated programs as a part of itunes. Those programs MUST be uninstalled and then as part of downloading a new copy of itunes then installed along with the new copy of itunes. If you are saying that you did uninstall iTunes, and then after that uninstalled all other associated programs then yes you are now ready to download and install a new copy of itunes.
Please note that this should be done as a new copy of itunes and NOT the same copy that had originally been downloaded that resulted in the issues.
Good luck Friend.

I did all of the suggestions for others with this issue and finally reinstalled itunes. It's still not working. I also noticed that when I plug my iphone into my computer I'm asked if I want my iphone to trust the computer- it doesn't recognize my phone even though I've been plugging it into this computer for months. Even after I say "trust", I'm asked the next time I plug in the iphone. Can anyone help???

If your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or iPod nano (5th generation) is not recognized in iTunes on a Mac, you might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Look at this article, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747

can some one help please, i have followed all of apples advice!!

"i have followed all of apples advice!!"
No idea what this means, unless you say what you have tried. When you say that you have tried "all", it really does not encourage anyone to make suggestions.  If you have tried it all, then, by definition, there is nothing left to try.

  • HT1349 I have podcasts on my iphone that are not showing up in iTunes. I can't get the delete arrow on the phone and can't delete from iTunes. Any ideas?

I would like to delete a number of podcasts from my iPhone. They do not show up in iTunes and when I pull the arrow on the phone it does not give me a delete option. I am using a Windows 7 PC. Recently I had to restore my computer, when I first reconnected my iPhone I thought it might sync it and wipe out everything on my iPhone, but it didn't do that. The only thing that seems messed up is the podcasts.  I do have an app called Bookmark that I use to listen to books and podcasts. Thanks for any ideas.

  • Podcast submitted but not showing up in iTunes

I submitted my podcast to iTunes two weeks ago. When I try to resbumit to iTunes, it says that the feed has already been submitted. But the podcast does not show up in iTunes when I search for it.
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/IBozo
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Brian

They probably just haven't got round to assessing it yet: I can't give you a hard and fast answer about how long it takes but 2-3 weeks seems perfectly possible. When it's been accepted you will get an email including a URL for the Store page.
Note by the way that the episode 'Drunken Sailors' has two 'enclosure' tags, both containing 'drunkensailor.mp3' but one from www.quass.com and one from Feedproxy. Only the first one will show in iTunes: multiple enclosure tags within one 'item' are not recognized. Otherwise the feed is apparently OK and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu).

  • Iphone 4S charging but not showing up in itunes

So I plug my iPhone 4S into the USB port on my Macbook and it charges but it does not come up in iTunes so i cannot add a song to my iPhone. I've restared the phone, and the computer with no progress. What's up?

    Hi Friend,
In iTunes, open Edt >> Preferences >> Devices, and unmark the option that say devices can't automatically sync with iTunes. Then your device probably will appear in a couple of minutes.
    Hope it will be helpful

  • IPhone 3G does not show up in iTunes

When I plug in via USB port on rear of machine (powered USB), and I've tried both ports. I am using the supplied USB cable. I plug it in within' the first couple of days of purchase and it showed up, and I've installed the 2.0.2 (5C1) iPhone software. In the past few weeks it will not show up. I've also updated to iTunes 8.0. I've rebooted the computer and the iPhone several times in every conceivable order.
Also, a seemingly related issue is that the supplied USB charger (for AC) does not get recognized by the phone most times it is plugged in. i.e. the green battery charging interface and connection chime don't come on. I believe it is still charging but it doesn't show on my battery life indicator.
Please advise! Do I need a new USB charge cable? faulty hardware? software?

I am having a very similar problem. After upgrading to 2.1 and 8.0 my computer keeps telling me my device is faulty and I cannot connect. Other things work in the USB port and I have spent days checking drivers, restoring my computer etc., all to no avail.
My wife's laptop is on 7.3 and my phone at least connects though it won't let me do anything because the phone is already 2.1.
    Please help.

  • My iPhone 4 will NOT show up on iTunes, not even by putting it into recovery mode. Can anyone help me fix this problem? I would like to use iTunes with it.

I got an iPhone 4 on Thursday.
I connected it to my PC, a Windows Vista, that day and nothing showed up besides a "camera."
My computer picked it up as a camera, which I understand is a common occurence in the iPhone.
After browsing countless youtube videos and Apple Forum Questions, nothing helped.
I put it into recovery mode by holding on the power and menu button, but when I opened iTunes it still didn't detect anything.
I feel like I'm almost hurting my iPhone because I turned it off and on so many times, and plugged it in and out several times, and so forth.
Here is what happened after putting it into recovery mode: 1. A Windows "device locator" popped up. 2. It was looking for a solution to help me with the unknown device, or iPhone. 3. I clicked onto the find solution button, and it told me that I needed a disc.
--- I didn't have a disc, so I looked up this problem and it told me to manually find Apple mobile device support on my driver, so I did.---
    4. I then went onto Control Panel and clicked on SYSTEM and MAINTENANCE and went to DEVICE MANAGER.
    5. There I found my iPhone listed under USB controllers.
    6. I uninstalled and installed it several times.
    7. I then manually found a program to ease the problem. The program was "apple mobile device support," which was located on my apple driver.
    8. Nothing happened, besides it reporting to me that Apple USB was found and that "code 39" or "code 1" was in the way.
    9. I didn't know what to do with this....
By this time, I was about to give up on my iPhone and return it back to the store.
I tried again, but in a different way this time.
    1. I put it back into recovery mode and I opened itunes.
    2. itunes reported to me that some burning or CD/Drive software was missing and that I needed to reinstall it.
    3. SO, I reinstalled it several times, about 12 (iTunes), and nothing changed.
    4. I then looked up the problem of why the CD/Drive software problem kept popping up.
    5. I fixed it by going to my registry and adding an UpperFilter with the code GEARaspi...something like that.
    6. The problem was fixed, but still no iPhone onto my itunes.
I stayed up all night last night to fix this problem...I'm annoyed and tired.
I tried another problem to fix this.
    1. I didn't put it into recovery mode.
    2. My iPhone showed up under portable devices under "device manager," from SYS/MAIN"
    3. I did update software.
    4. I clicked on "apple mobile device support" but nothing happened.
    5. It reported to me of the Code thing again.
I even called the Apple people and they didn't know what to do, so I stopped calling them...because they only had limited options to fix the problem.
    Can anyone help me?

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.
