Iphone rings on ipad

Can someone tell me why, when I receive a phone call, that my iPad rings but not my iPhone? I don't know when I'm getting a call on my iPhone. Strange.

I guess the first question is, will an outgoing call from your iPhone eventually connect? If it does connect, is the party on the other end able to hear you and are you able to hear them? Have you checked all of your volume and silencing settings? Have you checked to make sure that Do Not Disturb is not enabled?

Each device needs a separate address. Use an email address (gmail.com) on the iPad.

Tell your wife to get her own Apple ID. If you do not want continuity/handoff to work with calls, on both devicesgo to Settings==>>FaceTime==>> Turn OFF iPhone cellular calls.

Hi, I just got off the phone to Apple Support, my second call on the subject. My first call a day or two ago was answered by a rep who told me to turn off Handoff to disable Continuity. Today, the rep had the correct info: A FaceTime setting of all things!!
Both he and I are submitting a feedback to Apple Development to change how Continuity works. Rather than turn it off and on, there should be additional function and settings so an iPhone user can decide what happens when the iPhone switch to go to Silent/Vibrate mode also disables the Continuity feature from ringing another device (e.g., iPad).
Let's see what happens.

I want to talk to my child when I'm not at home. We have an Ipad that is in our house, and I have an Iphone on me all the time. When I call my e-mail address from my Iphone, it rings on my Ipad, but immediatly says it is busy. Is this because I have the same Apple ID set up for both devices? the key is to call the mobile no. (with which you registered the iphone) using the ipad or call the apple id you have on the ipad from iphone. But you have to sign out from the apple id from the facetime option in the iphone.

I dont get sound for videos, games and music but ringtone still works. When i press volume buttons on side of phone i only get the picture of the nell and no little dots underneath. This is on my iphone 4s and ipad. It happened at the same time.

Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.

This is happening to me too. Couldn't figure out what was happening at first then I got a phone call and the ring came through the appletv. Playback was stopping when I would open a game or something else as well.
I'm on a 5s with ios 8 and have an appletv 3rd Gen(it is updated too). II often airplay movies from my NAS through my iPad min and that stops when something happens on my phone even though airplay on my phone is off.

Iphone ringer volume problem fix

This is basically because of water vapours which get into the port for earphones at the top left of your mobile.
The problem is that your device might be thinking that the junk stuck inside the jack is actually a stereo plug connected, so it turns your built-in speakers off thinking you're jamming with your headphones on, though you're obviously not.
There used to be a fix for this problem via jailbreak by just deleting some file and making one terminal in the port disabled so that you could use ringer with and without earphones.
But now that most of you would have upgraded your software by now so i have got one simple fix for you guys.. and that is....... just try to remove trapped water vapours and possibly some rust that may have deposited there in the audio out (earphone port/ headphone jack) at the top left of your iphone.
In order to do that, just try a cotton bud which we normally use to remove earwax and clean the inner sides of audio port/ headphone jack or whatever you call it.
Its as simple as that.

FaceTime has stopped ringing on iPad

Up till recently everything worked fine FaceTime would ring on both my iPad and iPhone and I could choose which to answer.
Now it will only ring on my iPhone and my iPad has no record of a call or missed call.
Can anyone help get to the bottom of this?
I have read loads of discussions on the same and similar issues and tried all sorts of things that have been suggested this is where I am at:
Have checked all the settings - ringtone is on, volume is up, mute is off
When a FaceTime call comes if iPad is unlocked and on no problem it rings, if cover closed and locked nothing happens no ringing and no missed call registered
When a face time call comes in (I know as it rings on iPhone) if I open and unlock iPad it will then start ringing as well
Have checked Do Not Disturb and this is not switched on nor switched to scheduled therefore its other setting shouldn't matter but allow calls from is set to everyone and silence is checked as only when locked
I have tried turning on and off and a reset thing where you hold down the home and power button but no difference it will not ring while locked.
I checked DND again and turned it on tried FaceTime and it rang while locked! Turn DND off again and back to no ringing or any sign of the call while locked!
What is going on?

When any app is misbehaving, the first step commonly recommended is to force quit it. The following example is for Mail, but works for all:
Force quit Mail — there are 2 ways to do this
1. Double tap Home to open the Recents tray, press & hold any visible icon until they "wiggle" and show the red deletion buttons, then tap that button on the Mail icon, or
2. Press & hold both the Home and the Sleep/Wake buttons until the red slider appears, then release Sleep/Wake. Continue to hold the Home button until the Mail page is replaced by a home screen.
Other steps to take, if needed, are in the Tips & Troubleshooting section of your manual. One to try would be the Reset, often also called the system or hard reset:
You could try a Reset on your iPad, or any of the other recommended steps in the Tips & Troubleshooting section of your User's Guide.
Reset — Press & hold both the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for 10 seconds, until white Apple logo appears, then let the rest of the boot process continue.

Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.
