IPhone's USB Adapter Exchange Program

I recently requested an exchange of my USB power adapter that came with my iPhone. The new adapter arrived and came with a shipping box to return the defective adapter, but without pre-paid postage. I don't feel that I should have to pay the postage to return the faulty adapter. Was the prepaid label inadvertently omitted from the package. Did anyone else experience this problem?

call 1-800-694-7466
then give them your serial # of your iPhone
(settings > general > about... serial number
it is a mistake if you cant find the return shipping label
they will give you a solution about what to do next
hope that helps

  • No DHL Here - Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program

There is no DHL shipping center where I live but the message I got from the Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program is to ship via DHL; what should I do?

Mine was delivered by Fedex, with instructions inside to call DHL to pick it up for the return. Well, I don't have DHL service in my area either. After calling Applecare 4 different times in one day and spending I don't know how much time on hold, I finally talked to a human, who's expert solution was for me to take it to the post office!!!!! I explained that it had a prepaid DHL sticker on it, he said he didn't know why the Post office wouldn't honor that, or maybe I should call Fedex to come pick it back up, they would probably honor the DHL sticker too? I suggested that I would be near an Apple Store the next weekend and could take it there myself, he put me on hold for another 25-30 mins to check with someone to see if this could work. When he finally came back, he was pretty sure it would, if not they could just have DHL pick it up from them, since they use them anyway. This should not be this hard. I was sold a defective product, give me my better improved product and a simple way to get rid of the one that is going to kill me and my family without me having to make 4 phone calls, be given no real solutions to my problem, and in the end I have to come up with the answer myself.....Wonderful customer service.....

  • Adapter Exchange Program Request/Shipment Status Support or Contact Info

If I submitted an adapter exchange request online on 14 October 2008 and have not yet received the new adapter and return shipment info for the old adapter, how do I request follow-up assistance/support using the Online Assistant or directly via e-mail? The Online assistant indicates that I have no outstanding service requests and does not provide an option or contact information by which to submit a new request. Subsequent duplicate Adapter Exchange Program requests are rejected without providing a follow-up option or online/email support contact information. Please advise???

    Hello PatrickPicasso,
If the Exchange Program website doesn't provide any information regarding the replacement request you will want to contact Technical Support per:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1847978
They will be able to check the status of the request and/or provide further assistance if necessary.

  • While charging iphone with usb adapter supplied with the phone power line gets blown up ?

While charging my IPHONE 4S with the USB adapter supplied along with iphone the power line gets blown up every time  and I am left only with the option to recharge through the USB port of my laptom.Any remedy?

Have you tried other outlets? That may be an electrical problem in your house, worse case scenario. Try other USB wall adapters.

  • Supply on USB power adapter exchange program

Just wondering anyone who has done an online request for an exchange of their adapter got a delay recently. After visiting the Fairview mall Apple Store last Saturday, Oct 18th, they were out of stock and asked me to register online. I did and now a week later, Oct 25th, i am still waiting for a parcel to show up on my door step (there is no courier sticker anywhere near our doorway either unfortunately). The original message posted at "http://www.apple.com/ca/support/usbadapter/exchangeprogram/" said "ship within one business day when applied on the web". Just call the same Apple store at Fairview now and they have no idea why, saying they could not access information registered online in such manner; neither can they offer me help except asking me to keep waiting.
Anyone experience the same delay issue, by any chance? Would appreciate any feedback

    THANKS FOR THIS INFORMATION!!

  • Is the power adapter exchange program supported?

I put in for a replacement for my compact power adapter for my iPhone 3G on September 13. It's the 27th, and it hasn't shown up.
I've gone through Apple's voicemail tree and waited twenty minutes while the customer service rep traced my order through to a DHL tracking number. DHL's trace ends at one line: "Shipment acknowledged," which I'm pretty sure means that Apple put in the order, but never turned the package over.
Apple's position (he says) is now that it's my problem, and I should take it up with DHL. DHL will be available to handle this in 12 hours, plus time of processing. If they say it's Apple's problem, I can work my way back through Apple's voicemail tree and present a case number.
Apple tells me my power adapter is too dangerous to use, but it is dragging its feet when I try to get it replaced. This doesn't make sense. I don't have a business relationship with DHL. I was not responsible for putting the package in DHL's hands. But *they're not taking ownership for solving their problem* with DHL.
Wasn't it Apple that made the adapter negligently? Didn't I do everything I had to do, to bail them out with a recall? Didn't they blow the shipment? When did that become my problem?

To follow up: I'd put my apartment number (there are about five hundred at this address) in my address information (or Apple pulled it in with the information that goes with my Apple ID), but the number didn't make it into the shipping label. Calling DHL got the apartment number added, and they will attempt delivery tomorrow.
So calling DHL was the thing to do. I even grudgingly admit that having me make the call provided the information needed to close the case.
Two residual complaints: Apple/DHL should have formatted the address label correctly. And, DHL should have registered a shipping exception, which should have gone to Apple (or me), so I could have been told of the problem two weeks ago.

  • G3 Adapter Exchange Program

Does Apple send the adapter only, or do they send the adapter and the power cord?

Are you are referring to the program with announcement and details link on the right side of the PowerBook G3 forun category page?
Since the adapter recall is for the ones with the two-prong connector on the power cord, I would assume the recall includes the power cord. Additionally, if the "current round adapter featuring cable management" that Apple is sending out as replacement is the same one that shipped with my Pismo, there is no separate power cord; it is permanently attached to the round body of the adapter.

  • Eligible adapter for USB Power Adapter Takeback Program

I found out about the USB Power Adapter Takeback Program, so I brought my third party USB Power adapter to an Apple Retailer. But they refused to take it. They said that the adapter have to look like an apple adapter to qualify. Is this true?

    Hi John,
the store I found on the takeback site you listed (under Apple authorized Service providers) told me they will echange anything except look alike chargers. I gave in three chargers, look-alike and non-lookalike. They duly registered the serial numbers on the ipad and iphone and said they first have to "book it in" before they can do the exchange. They booked it in ON the October 18, 2013, so I get a call a few days later saying they looked at the chargers but "they are fine".
The takeback site doesn't actually say the charger first has to be deemed eligible, in fact it clearly states: "We are offering this special takeback program for any USB power adapter". Further, "We will ensure that these adapters are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way" seems to be the only stated reason to book them in, not to evaluate eligibiity. The spirit of the takeback in fact is spelt out on the said page when it mentions: "Apple Retail and Apple Authorized Service Providers cannot advise you on the authenticity or safety of your adapter", meaning there is no evaluation just a takeback.
A takeback which didn't happen, which hasn't made me safer, and only creates mistrust and an air of deception.
Please advise, what is the service provider meant to do in my case?

  • USB adapter program

I brought in a USB adapter to the Lincoln Park Chicago IL store to trade it in under the USB adapter trade in program.  The adapter I brought is labeled as Apple, however the USB port is crooked most words are in Chinese except where is says iPod Power Adapter Designed by Apple in California and some misc other text.  It has an Apple logo on it, but based on the crooked USB port and the majority of the text being in Chinese it does not look genuine to me.  I was told by the associate that the program was only for 3rd party chargers.  I thought; (1) the program was for 3rd party chargers and those in question, and (2) the local store personal would not be able to try to test the authenticity.  One more note, the Apple tech said that it looks like an original generation iPod charger, but she also noted that those had Firewire so she didn't really know why mine was USB.  Can I get some clarity on the program - should my charger have been eligible?  It's kind of pain to have waited at the store and then be turned away.

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

but i tried paring my LG bluetooth so i can listen to music on my computer wirelessly buy it gives me the same error message
That's an entirely different issue, unrelated to your iOS devices.

  • IPhone 5 Battery exchanging program

    Hello everyone!
I have got the iPhone 5 and checked by the serial number if it belongs to the battery exchanging program of Apple. It does.
And now my question is: If I let the battery get exchanged, will Apple update the software? Because I do not want to lose the one it is running now.
Has anyone of you made experience with it yet?

  • Safe to charge iPhone with Blackberry USB adapter?

I have the small wall-plug-to-USB adapter from my Blackberry that looks like the one below. Is it safe to use a standard Apple 30 pin + USB connecter (pictured below the Bberry connector) with it to charge my iPhone 4S? Otherwise I have to buy a second Apple-branded connector to have one at both home and work.

usb is 5volt ios devices can charge with anything that provide 5volts
if the charger don't follow the usb std and provide 50volts the phone will explode
