IPhone Safari launches itself after unlocking screen

This started happening recently. Ive noticed after using safari and putting the device to sleep after waking it and unlocking the screen safari launches. When it went to sleep safari was not running, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even in the list of recently used apps. On top of it, all the tabs I previously had opened are missing as well.
Ive cleared safari cookies, history etc... Completed a hard reset, cleaned the screen, everything I can think of short of restoring factory defaults. This is also happening to a family members iPhone as well. 4S and 4 respectively.
Anyone else seen this odd behavior?

hi
back up your phone, reset it and restore from backup

  • Podcast app pauses after unlocking screen

After installing the latest update I've been experiencing an issue where the podcast app will pause whatever podcast is playing after the screen is unlocked. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? Any solutions?

With the latest update to this idiotic and pointles app (Apple just can't admit that they're wrong and put the podcasts back in "Music/Audio"), they fixed SOME BUT NOT ALL of the stuttering and pausing when going from lock screen to the phone menu (it's also bled over into the music as well).  I mean, it's better than before in that it now happens 10% of the time instead of 70% of the time.
Also with the latest update, when deleting a podcast episode from the phone in itunes, a "ghost" of the podcast stays on the phone requiring a second step in the deletion process (a third if include also deleting the episode from itunes itself).  Doing a bang-up job there, guys, of forcing people to use something that noone wanted/needed, and then continually making that thing worse.

  • Mail launches itself after quit

Recently I have noticed that Mail re-launches itself within seconds after I quit it, and also at startup. I rarely log off or reboot since I'm on a desktop so AFAIK the culprit could be anything I did in the days or weeks since I last quit Mail. It's not set to launch under my account's Login Items, nor is there anything under /Library/StartupItems, and I have never used email notifications in iCal - those are the only possibilities I am aware of; I don't where else to look. Yet something is causing it to launch - any other ideas?

Never mind - I found the cause of this. I am running GeekTool and icalBuddy, which I am using to display flagged messages on my desktop. Didn't occur to me that Mail had to be running to do this.

  • Factory unlocked iPhone 4 locked itself after 5.1.1 update?

I have an iPhone on the network 3, but am moving to tesco mobile. The phone is unlocked, and I have had other sims in it before. Since this update, only my 3 sim will work? Is on a new baseband too. 04.12.01
My phone has always worked before hand with other sim cards, so I can't get my head about what could be wrong.
When I put the sim in I get no service, and when I go into airplane mode and back out, it says sim failure. I know its not the sim itself, because it is a new sim and I have tested it in my HTC Wildfire.
I jumped from IOS 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 because I hadnt had time to update my phone in these last months (If that is of any relevence).
Would someone kindly explain whats wrong and how I can fix this?
    Thanks guys,
    T

Here in the UK, when you buy a brand new iPhone from the apple store, its factory unlocked. You can use any sim in it you want. I have used multipul sim cards from different carriers in the phone since I bought it. It works fine with my sim and I will try another and see if that works. I will report back when I have tried

  • Safari launches to blank white screen them locks

When I launch Safari, it opens up to a blank white screen. No matter what URL I input, The page doesn't load and the viewer window stays blank and white. No error messages or anything! Any ideas?

    Hi Glenn,
Check to see if you have a recent crash report logged to this file:
    Hard drive > Users > Your Username > Library > Logs > CrashReporter > Safari.crash.log
Each report in there will start with a timestamp so find the most recent one and post it here please. The most recent one should be at the end of that file.

  • IPhone Safari resetting itself to Never Accept Cookies

Every few days my iPhone's Safari app preferences reset themselves to Never Accept Cookies, which keeps me from being able to log into my secure sites.  I am not part of a corporate mail exchange program.  I am just a person with an iPhone who wants to use Safari to accept cookies from sites I've visited.  Can you help me get this glitch fixed?

My iPhone does have an Exchange account from work, but I really doubt our network admin has set any kind of iPhone profile (he's a BlackBerry guy). How would I check for that, in Exchange System Manager somewhere? I'm a sysadmin so I have the ability to go in and view group policy, etc.
I noticed the cookie setting seems to change sometimes after doing a wifi sync with iTunes. Just to be sure, I checked the cookie settings in Safari on my Mac and they didn't match, so I don't think there's an overwrite happening there.
Very strange. Usually my Apple products "just work", but in this case it's an oddity.

  • Iphone 5 no service after new screen

can any one help just keeps coming up with no service tried rebooting a few times ,reset everything no joy and help please

Talk to whoever replaced the screen. If it was replaced by Apple, they should not have let it leave the store if it wasn't working, and if it failed after they replaced the screen, you should take it back to them to have it checked.
If it was replaced by someone other than Apple, Apple won't touch it any more.

  • IPhone 6 reset itself after visiting web page

When browsing the Internet, an annoying pop up came up which I clicked on by accident. It was of adult nature and after about 3 seconds of that page loading, my phone turned itself off.
Should I be concerned about this?
Phone seems to be fine, I just hate the thought of some dodgy hacker retrieving my information from these annoying websites.
    Thanks

Any chance you installed a Solaris patch that required a reboot but failed to restart the machine? Some Solaris patches update both the kernel and libraries, and failing to reboot after installing such patches can result in mysterious failures.
Apart from that, I don't know what could be going wrong. If you want to try debugging the problem on your own, you could inspect the core file. Otherwise, you should probably call tech support.

  • IPad shuts down when checking email after unlocking screen and listening to music

My iPad has begun to shut down and go to main screen while checking my emails .....I had just unlocked my screen and stoping playing aol music. I would love some help if possible?

Try rebooting the ipad by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

  • [Z3 compact] Bluetooth headphones disconnecting after unlock screen

I've just encountered a strange issue while listening to music over bluetooth on my Sony MDR-10rbt headphones (connected in high quality mode, aptx codec used). It's fine until you try to unlock te screen, it then immediatly switches to play the music over the normal speakers at maximum volume. At home not so much of an issue but in a quiet office environment very annoying, even more so if people don't tend to appreciate my choice of music
The strange thing is, in the walkman software it still says it's connected to the headphones (throw icon glowing) and even the BT icon in the bar is white and not light grey so it's still connected as far as the phone is concerned.
The Z3 compact is on 23.0.A.2.105 and the headphones are fully charged.
I also have a Z2 (the Z3 compact is supposed to replace it), that does have the same behaviour. That's running 17.1.1.A.0.402.

    You should contact Sony directly
