IPhone saying my network is restricted?

It worked fine this morning and before. All of a sudden I got a pop-up message saying my network is restricted/no service? Also, I have wifi, yet it says I have no internet connection either? Anyone know what this means?

Regarding what you say, the network access restrictions we have created are the generic ones. I don´t have the option to choose between a dialup or telnet restriction. Where is it? Can you give more detailed information, please?

After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

I tried restarting the phone several times, removing the SIM card several times, but it did not change anything, the SIM is still not detected.

You do not need to keep posting the same thing over and over again.

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. Unless you can find suitable apps, an iPhone can't usefully pair via BT with a computer. The iPhone does not natively have the required BT profiles.

You are sure that you have entered the correct username and password in the incoming mail section?
As far as using the iPhone with the Mac, I'm not a Mac user, so I cannot say. I do know that with Windows, the only time the iPhone will appear in Explorer is if there are photos in the Camera Roll. Otherwise you have no other access to the file system.

Hi, my iPhone 4S had a similar problem in February 2011, after several attempts to revive it, and nothing has worked, as I was traveling to the U.S. in May, and was still under warranty at no cost to me changed.
But now a year later the new phone looks similar to make a software upgrade problem. The WiFi only works to no more than 2 meters from the antenna WiFi, then away more disconnects, not a router problem as all other wireless devices will work fine as ever. What happened? my phone will have lost its antenna gain?. First, try tapping on the network in the Wi-Fi settings and then tap "forget this network". Then reselect the network in the main Wi-Fi settings screen and see if will then ask for a password. If not, try resetting the Network Settings in the General -> Reset section and then reconnecting to your W-iFi.

No connection to the cell network - even when my iPhone says there is?

I know there have been quite a few people saying that once they lose cell coverage they have to reset network settings, turn the iPhone off/on, go on airplane mode, do a screen reset to get their connection back... But that doesn't even work for me!
Additionally when I do these things my iPhone says there should be a strong connection (5bars) but I cannot send/receive messages, and I can't call anyone/receive calls.
Basically nothing works unless I'm using iMessage to talk to people.
I'm wondering if this is a problem with my iPhone, or with my carrier?? I'm with Vodafone, in Perth (Australia).

The thing is though, when I swapped my (prepaid, by the by) sim card with someone else's, my sim card in someone else's iPhone worked fine, but using that person's sim card in my iPhone produced the same problems.
So I kind of thought it was more a phone problem than a carrier problem?
