Iphone says restore but doesn't appear in itunes.
i was using my iphone when all of a sudden it shut off. when it came back on it showed the symbol that suggests i needed to connect it to itunes, even though it was already connected and just wasn't showing up. it will only let me make emergency calls and says imei: unknown and iccid: unknown. originally it just said that i needed to enter a pass code, but the phone isn't showing up in itunes and i can't do anything on the phone except for make emergency calls so i can't enter a passcode. now it's saying restore needed but again, when i connect it to my computer it won't show up in itunes.
help please? i don't know what to do. i've had my iphone for about a year and a half, and i got it from rogers, it wasn't like a jailbreak phone or anything, and it was working fine up until today when out of the blue this happened. anything i can do?

Yeah, I followed the advice they gave me at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 and I restarted everything. I decided to hook it up to my Windows XP laptop and it began to charge, but then said that the USB device was not working properly. My Mac doesn't give that message. I did a soft reset on the phone, but I'm reluctant to do a hard reset, since the last time I did that I was on the phone with tech support for several hours over the course of several days.

Hi. I just updated to the the new itunes. Now I cannot sync any music to my iphone (4s). It says syncing but no music shows up on phone. I have tried to drag songs over to iphone list on right had side, but no luck. I have tried starting in airplane mode as others suggested, but no luck. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall itunes again? I had to do this when I couldn't get the itunes to download. I have windows 7 also. There is no error message, it just doesn't do anything. in the iTunes window, select your phone, then go to the "music syncing tab". Ensure you have your music set to sync.

Apple TV -- TV says 'no signal', doesn't appear in iTunes
I think the HD in my Apple TV died. Suddenly, the TV reports 'no signal' on that HDMI port (and I tried different ones), and when I try to reset the Apple TV, it blinks for a few seconds, then I hear q quiet 'clunk' like a HD failing. My wireless network works for every other device in the household, but I still tried resetting the Airport, restarting the computer, checking iTunes, everything I could think of. Resetting via the remote didn't work, either, no response, I had to unplug the Apple TV. Is there anything else I might try, or does it just need repair? Also, can I get it repaired at a retail store, or do I need to mail it in?
Overheating IS the problem. when I brought it to the Retail Store, it worked fine there (for the few minutes it was plugged in). Back at home, it failed again after being on for no more than 1/2 hour. Now that I'm reading about the overheat issues, it seems to be widespread, however, it doesn't seem like other people are having the problem of the thing just shutting down. It's not useful if I can only use it for 1/2 hour at a time. I will be getting a replacement, so I hope that one fares better.

I cannot activate a ringtone which I prepared with Iringer. It appears in iTunes under sounds but doesn't appear in sounds on the iPhone!!!
if you created a ringtone, it should appear in the tone menu in itunes.
Is the ringtone 30 seconds or less?
Also I would check the iringer support site to resolve your issue. -
I installed Snow Leopard and have the latest version of iTunes. However, when I connect my iPhone 4S, it charges and iPhoto opens, but iTunes doesn't seem to recognize the iPhone. It simply doesn't appear in the left column. What gives?

Ended up accidentally installing Monster Hunter on my iPad and now I can't delete it from iTunes since the icon is blank. On iTunes it says it's been installed but doesn't appear anywhere on my iPad. I've checked in the Usage and used third party software to try and find it. How do I uninstall it from iTunes so it says it's not downloaded anymore?
If you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and select its Apps tab, then in the listbox of apps what does the button next to that app say ? If 'remove' click on the button and it should change to 'will remove', and then click the 'apply' button bottom right of the screen to remove it. Or if you find the app in the screen mockups on that Apps tab and hover your mouse pointer over the app, does it get an 'x' on its top left corner for deleting it ?
Or, and if you haven't already done it, then you could try a soft-reset and see if you can delete it directly on the iPad after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

Are you trying to downgrade your iOS build? That is not possible.

IPhone 3G doesn't appear in iTunes 10.6.3
After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 a few weeks ago, I was unable to see my iPhone 3G in iTunes. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes, which fixed the problem, and I've synced once or twice since then. Today the device once again doesn't show up in iTunes. The cable works, since iPhoto (7.1.5) recognizes the device and downloads photos just fine. iTunes may not be totally to blame, since it can recognize my old iPod (1.1.2). The phone is on iOS 4.2.1. Restarting the phone and the computer made no difference. Any ideas for fixes?
Apple's support is worthless - it tells you what programs are needed on your computer and how to find if they are running, but fails to tell you how to install what might be missing. My iPhone would synch fine until I updated to iTunes 7, but now my computer thinks my phone is a camera and doesn't appear on iTunes. None of the support pages provide any help. It appears that Apple has adopted the Microsoft model for customer disservice! Any third party assistance would be greatly appreciated.
