IPhone Screen Gets stuck in Phone Application. Any ideas?
I've restored my phone and still running into this problem. When I am in certain applications such as text, calender, email etc.. I will press down the home button and it won't return to the home screen. After pressing the home button again, but it will jump to the phone screen instead. It's as if it thought it was at the home screen originally except at this point I can press the home screen over and over and it will not leave the phone screen. The only way to return the phone to normal is to do a soft reset. This is happening about 2 to 3 times a day. Is anyone having this issue and if so is it software related or is this something I need to go get checked out by the genius?
This is happening to me too. It started a few days ago, I think after I installed a bunch of apps... but I dont remember which ones exactly.
The first time it happened, I plugged it into the computer and did a software restore.
The second time, I googled and found that I could hold the home/menu button AND the power for 10 seconds or so and it did a reboot.
When it has happened, pressing the home/menu button does not do anything. The power on/off does not do turn the screen off. And holding the power on/off does not power it down. Also, holding the home/menu for 5 or 10 seconds does not kill the app.
Should we list the apps we have installed and see if there is one that is the same that might be causing the problem?

IPhone 5 gets stuck in screen-off mode

Recently (within past 2 months) I've noticed that my iPhone will get stuck in the screen-off mode.
I'll be using the phone normally. I'll push the screen-off button (top right button). Then later, (whether it's 1 minute or an hour) when I go to turn the screen back on by either pushing the 'Home butoon' or Top right button, nothing happens.
I'll push and push and push both buttons. All I get is a Big Fat Nothing.
Sometimes if I leave it for a minutes, then push the button, it comes on. Other times it doesn't.
It is becoming more frequent. The most recent time was tonight. After trying to push buttons. Then trying to just wait it out, I pushed and held Both buttons together. It then began going through the boot up sequence.
I don't know if by holding down both buttons, it restarted on it's own, or if it was something else. But I know that the phone was not off.
Does anyone know what the problem is? I know it's not the proximity sensor. It's definitely something else.

The problem was mechanical.
How to fix it?
While under warrenty, take it in for a Genius Bar appointment and have them give you a brand new one.

My Iphone 4 has been stuck on a loading symbol for a week now, I've plugged it into the computer but can't do anything still because it says I need to put my pass-code in, but I can't the screen is on loading still! Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Worked fine last night. It's running Snow Leopard.Does your iMac fail to boot every time or only some of the time? Here are some things to try:
- Boot into "safe mode", which will run the equivalent of Disk Utility's "repair disk" operation.
- Boot from the system install disc that came with that Mac with the "D" key held down to run the diagnostics. Run them several times to see if any hardware problems are reported.
- If you can't identify the problem or fix it any other way, download and install the OS X 10.6.7 "combo" updater.
- If that still doesn't help, try reinstalling OS X 10.6 over the top of what's on the disk. -

The first troubleshooting steps I would recommend in this situation would be restarting and if the issue continues, resetting the iPhone.

IPhone 4 get stucked in animations in iOS 7.0.3
Hi everyone,
Since updating to iOS 7.0.3 my iPhone 4 get stucked in the transitions when:
- From lock screen, use de camera. The lock screen moves up a bit and then get stucked at some point
- In desktop, when using control center, it get stucked at some point when is moving up, it doesn't fully spread all the way
- Sometimes, when navigating between desktops, it get stucked in the middle of them.
I have made restoration and load my iPhone copy, everything is still the same?
Any other person with this issue?

I would close all applications in multitasking and power cycling the device. Once this is done test the results.

I have iOS7 on my iPhone4. I turned on the Voice Over option and now my phone is not working at all. At first it was freezing and not accepting any commands. Now all I have is a blank sceen. I can't get back into it. Any ideas what happened here?

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.
please helpHas nothing to do with the SIM or master reset. This has been done to my phone. The SIM once and the factory reset many times over. You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract. I just got off the phone last night with your high up tech people (you know, the hidden number we get once we tear into your support people enough), they went into my phone again and still didn't find anything wrong. I about got fired from my job for not getting my calls and texts. The BBB has now been contacted, and I feel your end should shore this up for all of us!

First I backed everything up, then restored as a new phone, and then i couldn't see the contacts, the contacts were not restored when i restored as a new phone. So in order to get the contacts I restored from the backup but then the same problem happened again.
What I meant to saw was that the probelm disappeared when i restored as a new phone, but it reappeared when i restored from the backup. So is there a way to just somehow get the old contacts when the phone is restored as a new phone. All I need from the current phone is the contacts to be there when I retore as a new phone.

currently at ios 7.1.. suddenly my iPhone entered into recovery mode without any reasons.. i tried using iTunes restore the iPhone.. after the process finished... I still stuck at recovery mode. any idea?
i have tried to restore via itunes as i would have usually, half way through i get an error code 3194 pop up.....and yes i do back up.

I think I've located the problem (at least in my case). I use a ringtone program called iToner 2 and that is what's apparently causing a conflict and syncing issues with my iPhone. I installed my ringtones from iToner 2 and the sync issues re-occurred. After deleting my iToner 2 ringtones, I was able to sync again.
My guess is that some application that you are using that works in some way with iTunes or your iPhone is what's causing the sync issues. I would suggest finding that particular application and not using it until it gets updated to work with iTunes 10.5 and iOS5.

My 3gs wont restore after ios 5 update. I have tried firmware restore and restore from backup, neither works. All I get is "iphone restore failed because backup session failed" Any ideas on how to make a successful restore with this ios 5 update?
I was having the same problem, I backed up my phone and then updated to iOS 5 and then it kept telling me it could not restore from my backup as it had failed. After reading a bunch of forums and posts and trying everything, I did manage to get it to work. I had tried the Time zone, creating a new computer user account, disabling anti-virus, etc.
It took a combination of things, one of which was disabling the anti-virus completely and copying the contents of the backup folder to my desktop and then deleting everything in the backup folder. Then I rebooted the PC, entirely disabled the anti-virus, copied the one backup I wanted to restore from the desktop to the backup folder and then trying to restore. Low and behold the phone said restoring from backup and I am back in business, so when in doubt, trying combining some of the fixes together. -
i restored my iPod in the middle of a download, now it can't do anything but restore, and when i restore it, the screen gets stuck on weird things, like the apple screen or purple or yellow. how do i get it un-stuck?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
