IPhone screen has blotches what is it?

Question

I recently tried cleaning my iPhone with a little bit of water just on the screen. However, apparently a tiny bit leaked to the side and when I turned it on, the screen flickered. I immediately turned it off, used compressed air to blow out excess water, wiped it down, unscrewed the phone, separated it in half, and put it in a bag of rice for a day. Then I added in a silica gel packet for about 4 hours. When I put it back together and started it, it worked but the screen looked like:
So is that like water between the lcd and digitizer or some faulty connector. Im leaning towards liquid between the two pieces cause if it was a faulty connector, i doubt only a square corner of the screen would be messed up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Unless the developer is using the location backgrounding, which you will then have to kill the app from the multitasking bar. Hopefully most devs will note this in their app description. Trapster (free) is a good example.
