IPhone Screen Protector

I have had my iPhone 3G only a week or so and I am concerned about protecting the touch screen. I have a 3 pack of screen protectors and they appear to be o.k. At the Apple Store they recommended and I purchased Invisible Shield by ZAGG. Installing this reputedly fantastic screen protector is rather involved and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this product. It does not appear to be something that is easily removed once it is applied. I am concerned that it may affect the touch of the phone. The iPhone appears to be all about touch and I don't want to screw it up by applying something I know nothing about.

I used a screen protector for about a month but took it off because the iPhone's screen is glass and very, very hard to scratch... mine is about 9 months old and looks brand new. I do use an iFrogz Luxe case to cover the sides and back though. I used several screen protectors on my Dell PDA but that had a plastic screen that definitely needed protection. Screen protectors can be difficult to apply but easy to remove and I've never seen one that affected the touch sensitivity.

  • Difference between iTouch 4g screen protector & iPhone screen protector?

Is there a difference between an iPod Touch 4g screen protector and an iPhone screen protector? I need a new one but want to get one from a store instead of ordering online. Thanks for the help!

The protectors come with cutouts for the fro camera and the cameras are located in different part of the front of the device. Also, the covered dimensions of the screens are slightly different.

  • Clearplex iPhone screen protector?

Does anyone use a Clearplex iPhone screen protector? Looks like a great product, but there are very little reviews to back up the hype. If not, what is the best screenprotector for the iPhone?

    I bought the Crystal film

It came with 2 protectors but I lost the other one since the first one still looks great. Its been on for months and with the constant use in and out of the phone holster, etc it still looks good. Can't help you in regards to if there's a residue or anything.

  • Iphone Screen Protector & Cover

I'm sorry if im posting in the wrong place im new to these forums and i have a huge question about Screen Protectors and covers...
The protector that my screen has is starting to come off from the bottom and im scared i might scratch my screen if i lose it all together so ived been looking into protectors that are being sold online and i found these two that people seem to recommend:
    http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-69/iPhone-Total-Body-Skin/Detail#itemad ded
which is only 10 bucks shipped but only covers the screen. OR
    http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/apple-iphone-cases-screen-protectors-covers- skins-shields.php
which is about 26 but covers the whole phone plus they have a pretty convincing video heh... any who im wondering if any of you own either of these and can recommend me one. Thanks again and let me just say this phone is by far the best phone i have ever owned but im sure im not the only one who thinks that

Ordered Zagg's Invisible shield when I ordered the phone, both arrived on the same day and that night I applied the front and back. The front was easy enough and looks great. That "orange peel" kinda look doesn't bother me at all and I rest assured knowing my screen is protected from the beginning.
The back shield took me a long time to apply, I had to re-apply several times 'cause I was not happy with how it was ending up. It was easy enough to peel back off and re-apply but I needed more solution. The box says you can just add water to the little spray bottle and be good to go. I did this and it worked fine.
Once finished, I left it alone to cure but in the end I was unhappy with the back shield. It didn't conform as much as I would have liked and I could feel it as i used the phone. I wasn't able to get it on there as perfect as I would have liked. It is a chore. In the end I took it off and it's been off for over two weeks and I have yet to have any scratches on the back of my phone. I am careful with it and whenever I do place it anywhere it's face-down, as the shield is on the screen and protects the phone if it slides, which is hard as it is since the tackiness of the material pretty much keeps it in place.
On a side note. There's a video of how someone left their Invisible Shielded phone on the roof of their car as they drove on the highway and it stayed in place due to the tackiness of the material. I thought this was silly until I absentmindedly did the same thing myself. I didn't get very far, but I did drive enough that any other phone would have slid right off. I didn't realize it was on my roof till I got a call, my bluetooth car hands-free kicked in, and I heard the phone vibrate....over my head.
In the end I would say the product is very highly recommended; you may have an easier time applying the back shield. I love the protection I get on the screen, and it is as good as "naked." No bulk at all. Also, if you're ever stupid enough to forget your phone was placed on the roof of your car as you fished for your keys...you haven't lost your investment.

  • Recommendations for iPhone Screen Protector

I have purchased both kinds you can get at the apple store and I just purchased another set at the AT&T. The ones at Apple are okay, but still impossible to put on without having air bubbles and the ones at AT&T are just cheap. With that being said, does anyone have any recommendations on the best screen protector you can buy. Call me a perfectionist, but I don't want ANY air bubbles and I want a screen protector that lasts longer than just a few months.
    Thanks!

The best one I've found is offered by 3M. It's a screen protector that has a special coating that makes it hard to read from any angle except straight on - great for prying eyes! Very durable protector, and applied easily with no bubbles. I highly recommend it! I ordered it direct from 3M, just Google it and it'll come up.
    Good luck!

  • Does dust under the iphone screen protector cause problems for the retina?

I dont have bubbles under the protector but if I reflect the screen under light I can see tiny dust particles under the protector, they are small white dots. So will this cause issues for the screen and is it worth removing the screen protector itself to fix or will it do nothing to the resolution of the phone?

will this cause issues for the screen
    No
will it do nothing to the resolution of the phone?
    no

  • What is the Best iPhone 5 Screen Protector?

What is the Best iPhone 5 Screen Protector? Anyone have any recommendations?

I've used no less than 10 different types of iPhone screen protectors. Most are either difficult to put on (Zagg, invisible shield, etc.) or just plain suck (too thick, bubbles, folds, etc.). The HD are the best covers out there. They are very easy to apply bubble free. They also stay on once applied. Others that go on easy often fold up when a case is applied. This one does not. I use a Speck case which curled the other easy apply protectors but did not curl this one. Great product!

  • I just got a screen protector put on my iphone and I put it in to charge and now it won't turn on or charge

I got the Iphone screen protector put on and it was working perfectly before and after. BUT when I went to charge it due to low battery it won't charge or turn on. There is condensation within the camera lens. What is the problem?

The installers use water to get the air bubbles out of the film. Looks like they got a little heavy handed with yours. You warranty is now voided (there are moisture indicators in the phone). You will need the screen protector people to replace your phone.
Since they will likely decline, if you are in the US, threaten to file a claim on their insurance for damaging your property in thier control.

  • Screen Protector--Essential or Unnecessary?

Doing research online on iPhone screen protectors like the Zagg Invisible Shield, some folks say the iPhone's glass screen is not easily scratched and a screen protector is unnecessary. Others say that a screen protector can inhibit the touch-screen performance. Still, I'm a bit of a klutz and a little anxious to leave my pristine screen naked. (Regardless, I will opt for a body case like the iSkin Solo.)
So what say those of you who have had an iPhone for a while. Screen protector or no screen protector?

From the sounds of it, I've put my iPhone through a year's worth of wear and tear in only 2 months then...
I do look after it, i clean it once a week (it's a white 16gb, and i hate the sight of dirt on it :O) but i have dropped it a few times on concrete and it survived without a single mark (im 6' 1", so its quite a big drop for such a small device...)
I advise precaution for the touch screen, as i know a few people that have quite long and sharp nails. and aslong as you don't put your keys in the same pocket as your phone, the casing should be fine too.
The only reason i see for a case, is basicly as a grease deterrent. after just 3 days of use, the screen is very dirty and there are a few pockets of dirt in the microphone/speaker/sim card slots/holes.but a cotton bud takes care of that.

  • Should I use a screen protector for an iPhone 6 Plus?

I just bought an iPhone 6 Plus and can't decide if I want/need a screen protector on it. I take great care of my phones and do not set it carelessly down on any surface.

    Yes.
We were going without for the first time, and after only 2 weekes,  my wife just showed me a hairline scratch on hers.  She says it could not possibly have happened, but it did.
I just ordered screen protectors for both of ours.

  • What kind of screen protector should I use for my iPhone 6? Should I use one?

I'm looking for a screen protector for my brand new baby. To my dismay, it's hard to find one that "fits" because of the curved edges. I have ocd, not to mention that what isn't covered by a screen protector are usually crucial areas. Can anyone recommend anything? I always use a screen protector because I'm super paranoid. I throw my phone in my purse a lot where I feel like it will come in contact with one too many things that can scratch it. I don't have a ton of money to spend, sorry I'm a college student. Also, I don't like glass protectors. If I need one I'm looking for a film. Thanks in advance from a new iPhone 6 parent!

I have an iPhone 6 Plus but I thought I would try to help you out!! I use the Zagg Glass Invisible shield and I must say at first I loved it! It feels smooth and accepts input super well! It doesn't, however, go all the way to the edge of the screen which is weird, I agree. I've only had it for about a month now and its already chipped on the top edge by the speaker and its super annoying!! They will replace it for free but I'm not sure that I want another one that chipped so easily.
I've heard great things about the iloome screen mate and it goes all the way to the edge of the screen and covers the curved part. I know you said you don't like glass protectors but those are the best and if you get a good one you pretty much only need to replace it once a year so you pay a bit more up front but it lasts a lot better than just film ones. Hope that helps!!!!!

  • Hello, I recently cracked the bottom part of my iPhone 5 right by the home button, would it be beneficial to put a screen protector over the cracks so it won't break anymore? I've cracked it twice now and can't afford to fix it again

  • IPhone 6 Plus screen protector

Is there any curved tempered glass screen protector for iphone 6 plus in ebay ?
    which of them are better?
And I used my old iphone 4 three years any without screen protector but it didn't scratch.
But iphone 6 plus is more expensive phone so I want more protection to this one!!!

Go with the Arcadia Oleophobic Tempered Glass screen protector ! It is amazing!! I bought it because its the only one I've found to have a 5 star rating on Amazon and its only $11.95! It works great, goes on easy and doesn't inhibit the touch functionality at all. Its super hard and protective but is also thin enough that it doesn't seem like its even there! I would definitely recommend this one over any other ones out there!

  • A truly transparent iPhone 5 screen protector?

I got an iPhone 5 last week. First thing I did was buy a nice sleek, clear 'shell' case for it and also a screen protector. The case is great as it gives some protection, doesn't cover the controls, doesn't spoil the nice design of the device and makes it feel a bit more assured in your hand. All good ;-) Not so with the screen protector.
I bought a Belkin Anti-Smudge screen protector, which came as a pack of 2 for $14. I fitted it okay but when I unlocked the phone I was very disappointed with the display. The beautiful iPhone 5 screen was reduced to a grainy, much less clear display. Text also appeared more fuzzy and harder to read. Sort of Retina to rectum!! :-( It was really quite poor. On the other hand I would like some piece of mind that a screen protector can offer. So I'm wondering what the alternative option might be that a truly transparent? I seen lots online but I'm bought off buying until I hear about a particular product - After the Belkin thing it's a case of once bitten twice shy. 'Tru-Clear' my arse! Not impressed with that at all.

I think you're right, Peter. It's a toss up between screen protection & spoiling the lovely Retina display or taking a chance and seeing things as they should be. I've looked at a few friends and families phones, that have protectors on them, and the display is really degraded by them. I don't think I'll bother with a protector and I've bought an iPhone 5 'sock' to protect the phone when I travel. That will do me for now
