IPhone Screen Rotation lock

Upgraded my phone and a new rotation lock icon appeared at the top. Finally figured out how to turn it off.
Double click menu key and move icons to left and it will expose the rotation lock icon. Just press. Easy once you know where it is.

Double tap phone button and slide icons over to expose iPod controls. There is a rotation icon. Just press and "Shazzam" unlocked.

  • K1 screen rotation lock problem

To all the experts on the board,
I bought a K1 tablet and played with it for a week. After the system updates, everything works reasonably well except the screen rotation lock. I push the screen lock button down as instructed, but the screen still rotates. Any idea how to fix the problem? Many thanks in advance!

I've had the K1 for over a year now and I have noticed some trends with the rotation lock slider not working correctly.
First off, I want to make clear that when I say the slider isn't working correctly, I mean that even with the Rotation Lock OFF, the screen stays in whatever position it was last in, whether it's portrait or landscape, no matter how much I move or reorient the tablet. The notification for the slider pops up on the screen as if it were working normally switching between locked and unlocked, so it doesn't seem like a hardware issue.
When the rotation lock does stop functioning, a system reset serves to fix the issue for a while. After a few days on standby or with intermittent use, the rotation lock stops working again.
As a side note, applications that are landscape only can force the tablet out of portrait and applications that are portrait only can force the tablet out of landscape, however when the applications close, it's hit or miss if the tablet stays in the new orientation or jumps back to the old one.
Also, I have noticed that the rotation lock never started acting up until after I inserted a microSD card. Can anyone else verify that this trend happened for them as well? What's even stranger is the fact that at first the card wouldn't even mount, but as soon as it was inside the tablet, that's when I noticed the rotation lock wasn't responding. It was a 32GB microSD high capacity, so I chocked it up to the firmware of the tablet not being compatible with such a large sized microSD card. I tried a smaller microSD card andeverything seemed to work fine. The only reason why I went back to the 32GB card is that I happened to try it some time later and the system was able to read it.
I really like the tablet and it's kind of frustrating that there's still not really a good solution to this. Any feedback or help would be appreciated.
    Thank you kindly,
    MW

  • My iphone screen stays locked in a magnified position

my iphone screen stays locked in a magnified position. Any icon fills 30% of the entire screen. I have tried resetting without any success. I also restored my phone using iTunes and the problem still persists.
Any idea of what is wrong?

You probably have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers.

I understand that how you lock the screen to prevent it from auto rotating has been changed in OS4 but when the iPad goes to sleep the locking of the screen gets turned off and it starts auto rotating again. Anyone know how to lock it until you turn it off yourself. Thanks.
Check again. My screen stays locked even after a shut-down and a reset.

  • Screen rotate lock

On my apple ipad1..I updated to v4.33..now. The screen rotate lock doesn't work..it mutes the  volume..help pls

For info, the function that the switch isn't controlling is set via the left-hand end of the taskbar instead (double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar).

  • Screen rotation locked iphone 5 s

My iphone 5s will not come off the "locked rotation" I've tried all the forum tricks still nothing! Please help!

    Hi ,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your screen will not rotate as expected, try these troubleshooting steps:
Not all iOS apps are designed to rotate. Some may use only portrait or landscape mode, or switch depending on the content. To test screen rotation, open the Calculator app that comes with your device. If the screen does not rotate as expected while using the calculator app, continue troubleshooting.
If the issue persists, restart your iOS device.
If the screen remains locked, back up and restore your device.
If the display orientation still will not change when rotating your device, follow these troubleshooting steps.

  • I cannot receive phone calls or messages when iPhone screen is locked

    Hello,
    i have an iPhone 5.
i Am unable to receive phone calls or text messages when my screen is locked. When I unlock the screen the missed call doesn't even appear so I have no idea anyone has called me. Text messages come through at about 12:30am every night.
i Have tried EVERYTHING I could find in forums and Apple trouble shooting. This is my last resort other than sending it to Apple.
iit is as if "do not disturb" is stuck on, but it isn't.
    i Have tried:
changing all all do not disturb settings.
    checked call forwarding etc.
    checked mute
my silent button is not on.
i have reset every setting and then even reset the phone and manually transferred everything back onto it rather than restore It from previous back ups.
    oout it in recovery mode.
i Have no success with any.
the weird part is when I first lock the screen and try to call it, it does ring. But if I give it a minute or more it won't ring.
does anyone have any ideas or anything that may help?
    PLease, please, please

I Have also checked blocked numbers and swapped SIM cards from a completely different carrier so it's not the carrier either

  • Screen rotation locked!  HELP!

Well, my new iPad 2 with 4.3.5 has a screen that wont rotate.
I've tried everything listed here...switch on and off...hard reset...restore from iTunes...nothing seems to work.
    Any advice?
    Rob

Have you got rotation lock on (is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator) ? If so then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can lock rotation either by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
