Iphone security in public and security settings?

When using an iphone (5s) are there particular security meassures you are suppose to take when in public? I assumed, at first, it would be similar to using a laptop, however, I understand an iphone has no fire wall?
Is it safer to use one's carrier for banking and the like when in public on public wifi or through your iphone carrier?
And/or is it helpful to have a password manager? I know that Lastpass is one type of password manager and has one-time passwords for public use with laptops -- but is it necessary to use one time passwords on the iphone?
What about keylogging?
Also are there any particular security settings or tips I should know about?
I did call iphone on these questions, but I wasn't able to get through to someone who would actually be able to answer my questions. Basically, she told me she's had no issues with using her iPhone and takes no such precautions.

Here's the deal: When on ANY public WiFi, use common sense...if you go to any site, look for HTTPS, you see that, & your data is encrypted. But, you gotta make sure you see that on every page...some sites only use HTTPS for the login page, so be careful. If you don't see HTTPS, don't enter any personal information.
Do that, & you don't have to worry. I go even futher...I never go to any of my banking, credit card, or other financial sites using public WiFi.
Be aware, a sophisticated user, even if you were on an HTTPS site, could steal your session & act as you on that site.
In other words, there are no 100% secure public WiFi spots.
I never check mail on any public WiFi spot. If using my phone, I use 3G, if using my laptop, I Tether.
Folks use VPN's for the simple reason that public WiFi networks are real easy to packet sniff with a laptop & easy to obtain software. Most corporations require the use of VPN's for their mobile devices, users don't have a choice. You should never use a public WiFi to do anything that could expose your finances or passwords that you'd really regret, if someone stole those details.
If the public WiFi spot is in Billings, Montana, you most likely don't have much to worry about...Grand Central Station...assume everything you do on that WiFi is being copied.

You might be able to re-enable your account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
For your security questions, if you don't have a rescue email address, or you don't have access to the email account, then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

We are setting Firefox up on our Resource Room Computers and do not want to re-enter trusted sites and popup settings. How can I import them?

Flash Player does not display pop-ups. If you are experiencing this behaviour you most likely have malware installed on your system. You'll want to scan your system with anti-malwareand anti-virus software.

Iphone 6 - hotspot use and security

using iphone 4 and 5 I found it great to have the use of the hotspot when not in reach of wi-fi access points for my laptop and with iphone 6 I find we have a hotspot but no way of adding or changing the security word - ? hotspot is there and you can link but there's no password to link ? this has confused me as I've searched the help pages and can not find anything in the iphone 6 to assist - please please please can someone help me out here - thanks

If you no longer have your iOS device
If you're using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, you can erase the device remotely and remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find, selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
If you're unable to complete either of the above steps, you should change your Apple ID password. Changing your password won't remove any personal information that is cached on the device, but it will make sure that the new owner can't delete your information from iCloud.

Acrobat (Pro or Standard) does not apply a "default" protection. It appears that someone or some other process has applied protection.

Have you tried a different one? Sometimes, not all websites are configured to be compatible with all browsers.

Your date, time and region settings have to be correct to connect to the iTunes store. This is from Apple:
From the home screen, tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
If the option exists, turn off Set Automatically.
Verify the time zone and time (in the status bar) are correct for where you are currently.
If not, adjust the incorrect setting accordingly.
If everything was correct and the option exists, turn on Set Automatically.
You must also be able to open a secure connection to access the iTunes store. Launc Safari on your phone and see if you can go to https://appleid.apple.com. If you can't then see the troubleshooting steps under "Blocked by software firewall: (Mac OS X/Windows)" in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297.

Cannot change date and time settings, popup "These files can't be opened: Your internet security settings prevented..."

When I try to change my date and time settings I get a Windows Security popup that reads: "These files can't be opened. Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened. C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe"
I have Windows 7 64 bit. I also have McAfee SecurityCenter installed. I have tried turning off my firewall temporarily, but the problem persists. I am not sure if it is some type of virus. If anyone could give me some information
