IPhone shows connected to network, but no wifi icon, not Router or DNS listed

Hi. Just purchased an iPhone 4g for my daughter. Am trying to connect to our home wifi network. My phone works fine, shows I'm connected, shows IP, Subnet Mask, router, DNS. The new phone shows it's connected in settings / Wifi Networks (check mark) but them there is only the IP address and Subnet Mask listed, no DNS or Router. Have tried rebooting, forgetting network and starting over, turning wifi on and off, turning airplane setting on and off.
What is going on? Husband had similar issues with iPod touch, but can remember how he resolved it. All of our Mac laptops can connect to the home wifi network.

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

One thing you might try is to download the (free) Epson iPrint app from the App Store. See if that app sees your printer, and, if so, try the "Maintenance" button in the lower left, including its "firmware update" (which is under "Printer Settings"). Make sure the iPrint shows the ink levels.

OK, I have an iPhone (1.1.1) and an apple airport graphite base station which is connected to a D-Link G604T router.
iPhone will connect to the airport but wont load any internet pages. My iBook works fine on the internet when connected to the airport.

Make sure the graphite base station is configured as a bridge, and not assigning IP addresses itself if the D-Link is doing DHCP.
If it is acting as a router, you will have NAT occurring twice, which can have a variety of issues.

While i was updating to IOS7.0.2, Itunes managed to download the software over the web and then it will install it when my phone is connected to itunes. Problem here is, while installing, it says that my phone could not be upgraded and now my phone is stuck on the screen whereby it asked me to connect phone to itunes. I have tried connecting it but my itunes does not detect my phone.. Is there any help to that?

I tried to do a complete, backup and restore on the phone 1 day before i noticed this problem, The backup finished but the RESTORE would fail I had an error, could not access Apple server ( some server name I cant remember).
I have plenty of space available on the iphone,
8gb free,
ios version- 6.1.3 ( 10B329)
carrier - Verizon 14.0
Modem Firmware - 3.0.04

I tried doing my backup restore on the same computer as I once did a year ago. and THis time I cant do the restore on the iphone.
computer osx is 10.5.8
itunes version 10.
I do not wish to go to ios 7 at this time.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, contact the carrier to troubleshoot the network connectivity issues.

Download 5.6 utility for Lion.. inbuilt version is hopeless.

Set TC and wireless names to short, no spaces, no special characters.. ie pure alphanumeric.
Lock the wireless to fixed channels.. only 2.4ghz matters.. as iphone cannot connect to 5ghz.
Try 6, 11 first then 1. I think bluetooth may be set to use lower channels.
That seems to have fixed it for most people.

Personal hotspot shares your cellular connection with other devices via cable, bluetooth or WiFi. If you turn on the hotspot, the phone will be disconnected from the WiFi network you are on and share access to the cellular connection. That's what it's for. It's using your data plan if that's what you're trying to do.

The ps3 problem tends to indicate a router problem. Have you powered off and then back on your router?
For the iPod try:
- a reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset Network settings: Settings?|>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo.
