Iphone SIM usage to other phone

Hi,I got iphone 4 and would like to put its micro SIM into other GSM phone (with SIM adapter), can anyone comment if it will work. We have some restriction to use iphone @ workpace hence thought to use it differently. Thanks

Yes, it will work just fine. However, remember the iphone stores no data on the sim, thus your iphone contacts(unless already stored on the other phone) will not be present.

I bought this cheap from an unknown persons. I have checked it is not in blacklist. And unlocked by apple.

Those are all carrier features, so contact your cell phone provider.

if iphone didnt allowed any other phone to connect via Bluetooth , soon i will sell this fckn iphone!

I suggest preparing it for sale then, because connecting to other cell phones is not supported by the iPhone. Check this for the supported bluetooth profiles if you like. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

  • Can I use my iPhone SIM card in another phone?

While I save up to get my iphone repaired, can I use my iPhone sim card in my Motorolla Rockr (my prior phone) or do I need to buy a new one? ATT said the sim in my Rockr is permanently disabled...
I would just try it but I'm at work and don't have my iphone here. I want to pickup a sim card on my way home if I can't...

You can use the sim card from the iPhone in any AT&T phone.

  • Iphone says no service , other phone on same plan works, why ?

My Iphone 3G( no S)  all of a sudden says No Service, and will not work to make calls.  The other phone I have on the same plan is working fine.  I tried to update software on the phone and it says it can not find the server.  It has been a while since I updated the software because I seem to always get an error or time expired message.  Any thoughts or ideas ?
    Thank you !

A couple of things can cause this. The SIM may not be seated well, or the phone would need to be reset. If you haven't, turn the iPhone off/on and check. If that doesn't help, then reset the phone. That is accomplished by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the iPhone reboots, try it. If that doesn't help, you may need to do a restore.
If you are having issues with updates and connecting to the server, that can often be explained by your Internet connection. An intermitent, or slow connection can cause this, as well as problems with anti-virus software. You may need to temporarily disable any anti-virus software to complete an update. Issues with a file called "host" on your computer can also cause issues. If you can locate it, open it with a text editor and remove any references to Apple, reboot the computer and try again.
If those don't help, make sure you copy down the exact error message and share that with us and we can see if we can help more.

  • Why is visual voicemail free for iPhone but not for other phones?

I recently activated an iPhone on my line -- temporarily -- and found that visual voicemail was included and didn't cost a dime. Can anyone explain why visual voicemail is free for iPhones but if you want it for any other phone it bears a monthly charge?

Also VVM is also free for everyone. The $2.99 is for the premium version. You can search the FAQ and there's a pricing list and shows what you get.

  • Explain to me why I cannot use my iPhone & iPads Bluetooth with other phones & MacBooks

So basically I want apple to explain to me in their logic why they have such a limitation with the Bluetooth on these devices. Earlier today, my partner connected her Nokia n8 to her MacBook Pro, it paired nicely with no errors or issues. So I decided to connect my iPhone to her MacBook Pro and then to my surprise it said that this device was to supported. I laughed at the fact that a Nokia N8 could connect to a MacBook Pro but a iPhone couldn't. Anyway, this is a Issue but the biggest issue that I find in which doesn't make sense is the fact that I can't connect my iPhone to any other phone via Bluetooth. This limitation in my mind is pointless.
Why can almost every other phone on the market communicate to any other phone on the market via Bluetooth but my iPhone can't? To be honest I have always been an android fan, due to open source reasons only. I have always liked the simplicity of the iPhone but the 3.5" screen always made me turn away from them. The latest instalment from apple with the iPhone 5 was appealing. Quick dual core CPU, beefy GPU, 1GB of RAM, great wireless technology, beautiful camera, nice & comfortable 4" screen. There is no denying it, it's a great device. So I took it up And got one, and to be honest I wasn't disappointed. But this Bluetooth limitation is ridiculous.
Please release a firmware update to remove this limitation. I am sure I am not the only one out there that finds this a inconvenience.
    Thanks.

You're not talking to Apple here, this is a user-to-user forum. You can send some feedback to Apple on this subject but my guess is that it won't change anything.
I believe that Apple have decided that the Bluetooth feature is there to support bluetooth headphones (so you can listen to your music wirelessly) and some peer-to-peer gaming, but that's it. The lack of bluetooth for sending your music to another device prevents copyright infringement, so perhaps that's why it's like that.
As for your point about bluetooth between your iPhone and your Mac, why would you need it? Syncing between iTunes, either by USB or Wi-Fi does what's required, so there is no need for bluetoothing files between them.
Although we're not supposed to speculate about Apple decisions here, it's pretty clear to me that copyright infringement was high on the list of reasons why that particular version of bluetooth has been used.

  • Sony Xperia M no signal - SIM works in other phones

    Hello.
I have recently had problems with my Sony Xperia M phone.
I recently dropped the phone and the screen had cracked and so i issued for a fix at a local shop and so i had to remove my sim card, sd card etc. As the phone returned to me i have not been able to have a signal however i get a very slight signal 5 minutes away from my home which makes no sense as i used to get full bar signal strength in my home before i took it in to get fixed.
I have searched for mobile network operators at home and it will not pick up any at all.
I have tried a factory reset; this did not work.
I have tried the Sony 'Update Service' and have also updated my phone to the latest version but nothing is working at all which is leaving me somewhat confused.
Heres what it says when i go to 'about phone':
    Network: no service
    Signal strength: 0dBm 99asu
    Mobile network type: unknown
    Service state: out of service
    Roaming: not roaming
    Mobile network state: disconnected
    My phone number: unknown
IMEI: removed by alexdon - no private info on the forum
    IMEI SV:
Also i have tried my sim card in my friends and parents phones and it works perfectly just like it used to. Also have tried their sim cards in my phone and they could not get a signal at all (the people were on my network also).
I'd appreciate help as i'm getting very frustrated.
    Thanks.

Hello,  I'm wondering if you can help. I have the Sony Experia M2 and the exact sae thing has happened to me - broken screen, got it fixed and now I continually have no service. It has come back for brief periods agin and then leaves, so frustrating! I was wondering if you managed to overcome this and what you did? Would really appreciate any help you can offer.  Thanks so much.  Eppy

  • Swapping iPhone SIM with a "Go Phone"

There are times I don't want to take my iPhone with me (to the beach, etc). I've heard I can swap the SIM with another AT&T phone, but I was wondering if it would work with a "Go Phone"? I stopped at the AT&T store in the mall, and the person said yes, but when I put it back in the iPhone, I would need to connect to iTunes.
Has anyone tried this and had it work?
    Thanks

Well first of no you do not have to connect back to iTunes when you put the sim back into the iPhone, you have to connect to iTunes when you change the sim or the iPhone
I have not tried it with a gophone but I have tried it with a regular ATT phone and it works, like I said when you want the sim back in the iPhone you just put it in and you are good to go

  • IPhone SIM in Other Phone

    Hello
I'm thinking of getting an iPhone, and one thing I'd quite like which I've received several different answers for is the following. If I want to (occasionally) use my old phone (a Sony Ericsson K750i, so not a 3G phone) for situations where flashing an iPhone about is a bit risky, would it be possible to just drop the iPhone SIM into my old phone? The O2 shop said the iPhone will come with a new 3G sim which can be used in a non-3G phone, but reading around I've seen people having problems with this. Obviously I wouldn't get 3G functionality on the old phone, but all I would need is calls/SMS.
    Thanks in advance

No you can't. The iPlan is specific to the iPhone. In most phones, you will find that you won't get any data coverage with the iPhone sim, just text and voice. In some phones, people have been able to get some data access, but that is subject a charge per kb upon ATT's review. Some people are lucky and it's slipping by. For most people it doesn't work. And for some, they are getting back bills for the extra kb while using the other phone.

  • Can no longer see usage details of other phone lines since updating mobile app

I just updated the My Verizon Mobile App on my Galaxy Nexus. Since the update, I've lost the ability to see usage of 2 other phone lines I have on my account. Before the update, it was simple to see usage details of each of the 3 lines on my plan. Since I pay the bill and monitor usage, this was the app's most important feature to me. I've tried every menu option and usage detail button but cannot see usage details other than that of my own phone. Is there a way to see usage of other phones as was easily done before the update?

The primary account issue is likely the problem. My line was the second to be added and is not the "owner account" on My Verizon. I will call and get that changed when wait times are not usually long as I was just warned by the recorded message that answered my call to 611. It must be a change with the update as I was able to see other lines before. Thanks. PS. I submitted this question to Verizon thru their website as an email. I did get a call today that went to voicemail and ironically the connection was so bad I couldn't get the call back number from the agent that was nice enough to call.

  • The IPhone 4 Blue can communicate with other Phone(no IPhone)

I want to know if i can use My IPhone 4 Bluetooth with other phones( no IPhone)?

Yes I did. There is nothing in the peer-to-peer specs that state that both devices have to be iPhones - only that both are running compatible apps using the PAN profile.  In theory, another format version of the app could be designed to do this.

  • Can I use my SIM card in another phone temporarily?

Question for you all - I'm new to the GSM world having been a long-time Verizon customer prior to my new Iphone. As such, I really don't know much about SIM cards since CDMA doesn't use them.
Can I use my Iphone SIM card in another phone temporarily? There are situations (like this weekend where I'm going skiing) where I'd like to carry a phone but not the iphone, for obvious reasons.
Can I get a cheapy GMS phone on ebay or somewhere else and take the SIM card out of the Iphone and plug it into the cheap phone?
    Thanks in advance!

The Iphone doesn't have a sim card.
The iPhone most certainly does have a SIM card since it is a GSM phone. Verizon has a CDMA network and CDMA phones do not have a SIM card. I believe Verizon now sells/carries a hybrid phone that is a combination CDMA/GSM phone but other than this, you cannot switch SIM cards with a Verizon phone or with any CDMA phone.
