IPhone Software Keyboard Problem
Hi,
Recently, certain parts of my touchscreen have stopped working. I thought it might be a hardware problem but after performing a restore, it works again! but then after a few minutes (different length of time every time), it stops working again.
Is anyone else facing this problem?
Iphone is 16GB 3G on 2.2.1
I am having same issues on iPhone 2G. I upgraded to 3.0 and everything worked fine. Then after a few days, some buttons on the keyboard stopped working in portrait mode. When I try to press one, nothing happens. Same button may work in landscape mode but others won't. Also, yesterday, only one button was not working and today more stopped working. I don't understand how this is possible and what is causing this. Anyone had similar issues?
I did try to reset the phone many times without success.

IPhone 4s Keyboard problems after 7.0.3 update

need help, keyborad letters "T" and numbers "5 and 7" are not responding or lagging sometimes in landscape mode english language. in Italian for example working fine.
Portrait mode working fine, tried resetting settings, restart but still not working. Screen touch working fine and responsive in the areas of the keys.

Huh? What "button"? There is no such procedure. Was this phone jailbroken?

Unclear terminology. Read the "Restoring iOS software" support article I linked for you and follow that procedure for restoring as a new phone.
How can you say that this is not a software problem, but a hardware problem if reinstalling as new does not work?
In fact, that defines it as hardware since >100 million have updated without any camera problem. If it were the iOS software, which is the same for everyone, EVERYONE would have this problem.
Why have so many had similar problems with this update?
Define "so many", particularly in the context of >100 million updates. Most had the problem fixed with the usual troubleshooting steps described above. If you had followed this forum for the last 7 years, the same camera issues have occurred just as frequently with every iOS update since 1.0.1/

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference? -
Keyboard problems out of the box with iPhone 3g
My iPhone 3g is showing strange keyboard behavior, typically starts when launching the SMS app.
The "P" and Backspace keys, the keys on the rightmost part of the touch area, are non-responsive. The issue will correct itself after 15 mins or so, but it's become very annoying.
I've made sure I'm not touching any other part of the screen as a possible cause. Showed it to and had three other iPhone users see what I see and they all agree it seems like a bug, just to confirm it's not me.
Took it to the Apple Store and of course the iPhone behaves when showing it to the Genius.
Anyone else experienced keyboard problems with 2.0 firmware?Well, I took my 16GB iPhone 3g (white) back to the Apple Store today and the Genius looked it over -- said that's the first keyboard problem he's seen come in and mentioned that it was strange the "dead zone" on the touch screen was vertical since, according to him, most "dead zones" tend to be horizontal areas. He said the touch screen matrix is laid out in three horizontal bands on the screens.
Bottom line: he gave me a new working iPhone 3g.
He did mention that all returned iPhone 3g's are being sent directly back to the iPhone 3g engineering team for full "autopsies", not just sent back to factory for refurb. He said they want to fully diagnose and understand what defects are out there so as to solve the root cause moving forward. -
I am trying to update my iPhone software but to do so I needed to update iTunes. When I try to do that, I keep getting this error message" "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not....

My MacBook Pro that is running on Mac OS X 10.6.8 won't update software that I need in order to download the newest iTunes software to connect to my iPhone 6. Problem is that when I go to update, it restarts the computer but never updates any of the software.

When you buy an upgrade disk, all updates in that OS can be found on Software Update.
For instance, I bought Snow Leopard at 10.6.
All other updates have been free and downloadable. So I'm not a 10.6.7.
10.4 (Tiger) went to 10.4.11.
10.5 (Leopard) went to 1.5.8
10.6(Snow Leopard) is currently at 10.6.7.
Now, when Lion come out (the next major upgrade of OSX), I will have to pay to go to 10.7.
After that, updates are free til 10.8 comes out. -
Problems downloading Iphone software 2.0.2
I have tried 8 time to download the Iphone software upgrade 2.0.2 and after waiting for 2 hours that is when it does not get a computer crush, I get a stop err=-3259
There has been a problem with the down load. Some type of out of time waiting for the network connection.
I do not know why Itunes is not smart enough if the connection stops, the next time Itunes is started it should continue downloading from the point it stopped. Also an option to pause and resume download should be available so the user does not have to wait the 2 hours straight.
It has been 8 times having the Iphone connected for 2 hours each try with no results.
Please can anybody help me on thisYes you will be able to download 2.0, I have 4GB also. You need to update iTunes first though then you can download 2.0. Do not do it yet though everyone seems to be having problems finishing the installation.

Unable to Retore! Error -48 Problem downloading the iPhone software
I was having trouble with Safari (reseting all the time) and wanted to try restoring my iPhone from scratch.
Each time I select "restore" I watch the download activate and when it's complete, I get the following error:
There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPhone "My Name iPhone". An unknown error occured (-48).
I'm at a loss. Has anyone else seen this or have an answer?

It addresses that error for the ipod. I myself might play around with the time zones first before I try restoring -- are they the same in the mac and the iphone? -- maybe temporarily switch to Pacific and see if the problem goes away.
You can also search for that error by putting it in quotes: "(-48)". You will get hits for the number 48 too.
Normally Macs don't have this issue. It seems as if you are running on USB 2.0 -- it probably should not be going thru a hub.

Problem updating iphone software version 4.3.3
Every time I have tried to update the iphone software when prompted by itunes it crashes, sometimes at the end of the update sometimes before. It comes up with an error message every time. Please can someone help?
First thing I'd do is check that I have the latest version of iTunes. This has cought me out a few times. Other thing that I've experienced is a iTunes seems to think there is a problem with my USB socket, so I've tried another and it's worked fine.

i have just downloaded a new version of Iphone software on my iphone 3 . but i'm facing problem in configuring it . also tried to configure it with itunes but it always says that there's no sim card in your phone and previously i was using same sim without any problem . need solution . kindly help .

Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Restore the iPhone.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported.
Sounds like your iPhone was hacked/modified/jailbroken to work
with wireless carrier other than the one it was purchased from. The
update has relocked it to the original carrier. Contact the original
carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify - only the
carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that the previous modifications to change from original carrier
to your local Carrier may have rendered the iPhone unable to be
officially unlocked. -

Iphone software problems in itunes!! someone please help me!
For some reason when I go to load the newest iphone software through itunes, it keeps exceeding the download... the new update says its 152.3 MB, but once it reaches that amount, it just keeps on going! 217 + MB and more,, until it stops and times out... why does this happen? or how if that? its only a 152.3 MB download,..how could it possibly keep going? I'm lost and all I want is my WIFI itunes on the iphone..but this update is not working for me and its frustrating..heres a screen shot of what i see.
Apparently that's happened a few times to people, including myself.
If you cancel the download, delete it, and then go back to the Summary page and hit "Check for Updates" it should start again with no problems and finish correctly.

IPod hangs when importing pictures using camera connector
