IPhone sound for apps, keyboard suddenly mute

Just got my iPhone 4s replaced and all was well for 1 week. This morning my apps (YouTube, keyboard taps, text swoosh, etc) are no longer making a sound. Speakerphone works ok and phone is NOT on mute.
Thoughts?

I had the the no sound issue also on my iPhone. I found this trick to solve the problem and it give back all sound on any iPhone.
1- Go to Settings
2- General
3- Scroll down to : Accessibility
4- Select Assistive touch (for more information about Using AssistiveTouch on your iOS device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5587)
5- If the "White dot" doesn't appear - Click 3 times to the home bottom and you should get the "White dot" somewhere on your iPhone sceen (you can move the "White dot" where you want on the screen of the iPhone)
6- When you get the "White dot" - click on it
7- You will have 4 icons, click on the device icon
8- Click volume up (be sure the volume is at the maximum)
9- Click on the little bell (make sure the bell is not muted - I found, it's not very clear whic bell is on or wich bell is mute)
10- Call your iPhone - the problem of no sound should be fix (if the problem is not not fix be sure the volume is up and the bell is not muted - select the other bell by clicking on the bell - call again your iPhone - the problem should be solve and it should work)
11- If you do not like to keep the "White dot" on your iPhone screen - click 3 times to the home bottom and the "White dot" should disappear (if you want it back - click 3 times to the home bottom and the "White dot" should be back)

Why is there no sound for apps since updating to iOS6

Since I updated my phone (4s) to iOS6, there is no sound for apps like netflix, youtube, audio book, music or even for any of my games, but it works perfectly fine when I make/take a call. I reset my phone and everything. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

I've not had the problem, but basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
Try those steps in order until your problem is solved.

That looks like what I want, but when I tried to install it I get an error:
"You cannot open Xounds preferences pane on this computer. Contact the developer of this software for a newer version."
Do you think this is because of the intel chips?

I like the "new text message" sound called "Chime". I would like to use this sound for new mails in Mail.app, too. Is there any way I can download this sound on my MacBook Pro (from some webpage?)?
The sound "Glas" is available both on Mail.app and on the iPhone, but note the "Chime" sound.

How to mute sound for app?

Is there a way to mute sound for one particular app? In windows, you can do this from the volume control. It list each app and you can control volume there. I don't see a way to do this in Windows.
Particularly in gotomeeting, there isn't any mute available. Safari is the same way.

Problem changing sounds for apps

I have an iPhone 5 with ios 7.0.4. In sound settings, I've selected specific sounds for specific apps (Twitter, Facebook, etc). However, incoming alerts for these apps are not using the selected sounds, they are still using the default. What am I missing?

My I phone is ringing as a phone. However, no sound could be heard when viewing youtube video no sound for the keyboard. Also when the vonage or the magic Jack is ringing it rings once and no more. I don't know how to solve this problem?

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Updated to ISO7 2 days ago on my 4S and Now No Sound for Music, Keyboard or screen actions

Hey, Not sure if there is a fix for this but today suddenly my 4S with the new update wont play music, I don't have audio for my videos I recorded and it don't play any actions sounds like screen lock. It will ring when called, play memo's, Siri speaks and speaker phone works. I tried hard reboot, standard reboot and backing up but nothing has helped. The odd part is when I go into my music and it shows playing the volume bar is ghosted. Once after playing memos I went into music and it wasn't ghosted but at about a quarter volume and I raised it to half but the dot dissapeared and nothing happened. I then closed it and reopened it and it was ghosted again. Clearly this is a software glitch but not sure how to get my tunes back. Any suggestions? Thanks

IPhone - Webpage - for APP

to start this off, I am a N00b DEV (tehehe)
But I have build a UIWEB VIEW APP(iphone Programming + Application) that displays my Website.
One of the problems I am having is iWeb typical webpage resolution is just to big, so when I scroll on my site, its width is double 640, instead of the 320 that I am looking for...
- as you know viewing a 640 resolution on a iphone would make it scrollable to the right side, and I just want 1 flush page, if you know what I mean, sorry it pretty lames terms, like I said im New....
I cannot find anything in documentation, help, or in the inspector to change the true size of a webpage...
I figure this as these templates that iWeb come with are pre-programmed for those applications.
please prove me wrong and show me the way
as I am also tempted to buy a 10$ iPhone iWeb Template that looks crappy, when I could save myself money, and say I did it myself, with the use of these forums.... thanks

Sure You can...
1. Simply open the inspector on whichever page you wish to change.
2. Click the icon farthest to the left (looks like a sheet a paper).
3. Then click the layout tab
There you will find content width and height. Change those parameters to however many pixels you wish for your page to be.
Voila!

8 year old daughter wants my old iphone just for apps, video, and stuff

I recently got the new 3Gs and deactivated my first gen. iPhone. My daughter wants the first gen for games and stuff. Will it be sufficient for me just to manually delete contacts, itunes, and other personal and business info not appropriate for her viewing on the old iPhone?

You can manually delete the data you want removed, or on the iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings.
This is a secure erase, which will take an hour or two, so have the iPhone connected to a power source when doing so.
Afterwards, you can give the iPhone a name for your daughter, and transfer the 3rd party apps/games that you want your daughter to access, the same for music and video. Each iPhone can have its own sync preferences with iTunes.
In order to install a firmware update on this iPhone or to restore the iPhone with iTunes if needed or wanted, you need to have the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when activated.

Sound for Apps, Simple Guide?

Ok so i want to do some sound stuff like play some short audio clips. I can have them in any kind of format but it seems like i should be able to do wav. So now how do initialize a sound file and play it. There are some tutorials out there and most of them cover sound in applets. And very few do it with applications. And the problem is that they do complex stuff, they dont even tell u how to intialize the sound file. So either can someone give me some basic code or point me to a good site/ tutorial.

Yes, the class is long and complicated, but it solves a big complicated problem.
The method playShortClip near the bottom of that code does just that. It uses the applet support, but it can be used anywhere. It is restricted to short clips in PCM encoding. The playClip method does the same thing for more difficult cases.

Find my iPhone sound for iPod 4G

I've misplaced my ipod touch 4g & the find my iphone map is saying its in my house.
My headphones were still plugged into the ipod & i tried playing the sound but nothing came up.

My iPhone sounds aren't working why is this?

My iPhone sounds such as: Keyboard clicks, new message tones, lock sounds, new mail sounds, or any type of alerts aren't working, music also isn't audible. When I plug the headphones in I can hear everything, but without the headphone I can't hear anything except for the ringer. Why is this? Is there something wrong with the headphone port? or is there something wrong with the phone? I've had this phone since late February of 2008 and haven't experienced this problem until today. I have turned it off and on and that doesn't seem to help. Any idea what this is?

You know what, that did the trick! I think something was wrong with the headphone port because I clicked the side volume button and it kept coming up as "Headphone (ringer)" I put the headphones in and out a couple of times and then it went back to normal. Thanks for the tip!
