Iphone starting to warm up while its in standby mode?
I was using location services for 5 minutes before setting it back to home page and turning to stand by mode, iphone continued to warm up even after setting it to stand by.
is this normal or a problem with my iphone?
same here and it uses the battery up like it was no tomorrow.
i charged it till 100 percent and the next morning i couldnt turn it on. reason - battery completely drained. i just got this phone on the 1st Aug

Can't start a cloned connection while in manual transaction mode

I'm trying to set my connection autoCommit to false and begin a manual transaction in my application .I use sql server 2000 as my dbms and I set the connection selectMethod to "cursor" ,but when I run my application I see this error

what's wrong??Very hard to say using the code posted. However, a few things immediately jump out at me:
Call setAutoCommit() immediately after getting the Connection. I have never tried calling that method in the middle of a transaction, and I imagine the results are not good.
Where are your Statements? You should use PreparedStatement whenever possible. At worst, use a Statement. I don't even see that.
Either commit and rollback yourself, or let auto-commit do it. IMO, whenever you write SQL, you should be coginzant of when a commit or rollback should occur. Therefore, I never use auto-commit.- Saish -
How can i extend the battery life of my iphone 4s? when i left 50% it in standby mode when i saw in 5hours it drains to 5% i saw 45%, i thought when i leave the phone the percent is still the same. whant am i goin to do?
I was not aware of the fact one could use ringtones as alarms, this will suffice! Although I foresee some very awkward times as the sound does not stop once I respond to the reminder (it keeps going for good five - ten seconds after I "stop" the reminder), but it's better than missing it altogether!

-Modular747: I don't know anyone who actually reads the terms of service agreement, those things are usually up to thirty, small print pages full of legal jargon. Rules, I do read - not the legal documents (also they often contradict the laws in my country, but that's a whole different story).
I agree with you - the average customer support consultant mostly cares about keeping his job and earning his salary (don't we all?) and thus racking up completted tasks (i.e. getting rid of customers as fast as possible - in a good mood). The "threat" none the less is real, if a cell phone causes me more trouble than it is worth, I will indeed throw it away (I have done so before) - and recommend a different brand to anyone willing to listen.
Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and I've been faithfully using and recommending their producs for twenty years now, not because of fanboyism, but because they earned it. This calendar issue, however, is like a toaster that doesn't automatically eject the toast at the set time. I see it as a major flaw and after googling around a bit I see that it's been around since at least 2007 (THAT'S SEVEN YEARS!!) so I strongly believe they are aware of this problem by now, but are choosing to ignore it for some mysterious reason and it really ****** me off.
I will send the feedback but based on my observations I suspect the Send button is merely a cleverly disguised Delete button. -

Iphone does not ring in standby mode
my father has an iphone 3G,
and it will not ring in standby mode.
it worked perfectly when he was on 2.0,
but when he upgraded to 2.1 it started having some problems.
now he has 2.2.1 and the only problem it has is it will not ring while in standby.
it will only ring when unlocked.
is anyone else having this issue,
and does anyone have any way to fix it?
i dont know if it is irrelevant or not,
but he is on windows XP.I was having the same problem and did a couple of "restores" and the issue kept coming back, after several calls and not much help I decided to delete an application that I had downloaded which was "Ski jump lite" and the problem has gone away. It worked fine on the previous version of apple software.

I have an app that appeared to need to be updated. I clicked to update three days ago. It has started to update and will not finish. How can I delete the app while its in the middle of updating?Locked on an update can mean a couple of different things. So there are a number of things to try, but start with these.
If you have a "waiting" icon, try tapping on the icon and see if you can pause the update/download. Of it pauses, tap on it again and see if it will resume.
Try holding down on the icon until all of the icons on the screen wiggle. If the X to delete pops up on the waiting/stalled app - tap the X to delete the app. Tao,the home button and the apps will stop wiggling.
You can also try this and see if the downloads will resume. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

With typical use of your device, it is expected for it to get warm since it is performing calculations that cause the CPU to generate heat.
Also, if there are temperature warnings (yellow triangle with "!" symbol) then I would ensure it is not in a warm location, let it cool off, and then startup again. Once started, close any applications running in the background (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137) that could be utilizing CPU resources. Also try disabling/removing email accounts temporarily to see if they could be causing the added heat and battery drain. -
Can i use my iphone while its charging for the first time
i just got the iphone 6. when i turned it on for the first time it had like half battery, i let it fully die and now im charging it for the first time. can i use it while its charging? every phone ive ever had had such a crappy battery life. i wanna finally have a good battery! lol

That is actually not considered best practice. Lithium ion batteries should be kept topped up when possible. That was previously recommended to calibrate the battery sensor. It never had any effect on the overall life of the battery. -

Thank you for your question. iTunes 11.1 is required to update to and sync with iOS 7. If you are still running iTunes 10.6.3, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.
