IPhone status is Updated just now but a lot of images are grey placeholders
Good part: I have a big library (~50K photos and ~1K videos). Switched to iCloud Photos on all my macs, work ok, took several days to upload everything but look good.
Bad part: on my iPhone I also enabled iCloud Photos Library (optimized storage), for some time it was showing "Preparing...", then "Downloading..." but now it says "Updated just now", like it's done. But the problem is that a lot of images are just grey placeholders and convert to an image only when I open specific Moment and wait there. Also, the phone shows spinner at the top all the time, like it's downloading something. And the things spinning both in Wi-Fi and LTE.
It looks like the Photos app on iPhones continues downloading, while system preferences status says it's all good.
This is how it looks, to make it clear - status is "Updated just now", but there are a lot of empty placeholders.

If add-ons are so important to you, remember to check for add-on compatibility before upgrading. (See image below)
Bookmark your add-ons pages (addons.mozilla.org) and check their compatibility before upgrading Firefox.
The other option is to [[Install an older version of Firefox]] compatible with your add-ons.

Keep in mind that other browsers have updates too, which may or may not break their add-on compatibility.

My iPhone is not receiving mail but the following messages continue to flash over and over at the bottom of the screen: "Checking for messages, Updated just now, Checking for messages", etc. After a minute or so it will flash downloading 1 - 32 messages but nothing is received and then the "Checking for Messages," etc. starts back again. I turned the phone off for 30+ minutes and also tried to reset it, but the problem continues. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears. -

Figured it out.
1. Click on your name in the top right of the iTunes window
2. Click on Account Info.
3. Enter Passsword
4. At the top, it should say Downloads Available, click on the Download button and you're all set -

It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID. -
I updated my mini, but some of my apps are no longer available. One of them I purchased from the Apple store. They are grayed out with the word "waiting" underneath the app. Any suggestions?
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

It sounds like iMessage may be activated with the wrong phone number. Let’s see if we can resolve this. First, go ahead and sign out of iMessage and FaceTime:

Sign out and back in to iMessage and FaceTime
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

I downloaded iOS4 for my daughters Iphone it says it backed up before the new OS was loaded but all her contacts etc are gone Are they on the backup if so where is the backup stored
Contacts are in the supported application on the computer. On a Mac that is Address Book, on a Windows computer that is Outlook, Windows Contact depending on the version of OS you are using.

How do i change a .pages to a .doc format when i don;t have microsoft. I've tried file>format>.doc, though all selections are grey as in a cant't select them? Please help.
I can't afford microsoft yet and this is a new macso im very new to this and have had so much trouble with this sort of stuff. ive googled it but nothing seems to work!!

Iphone 5 sofware update and now will not come back
iTunes auto update updated mt software on my iPhone 5 and now it will not come back. It backed up but when installing new software iTunes said there was an issued and now my phone is just displaying the USB & iTunes icon on the screen.
Connect it to iTunes and restore it.

If you restored the backup from iCloud, it will automatically re-download all your apps for you on its own.
If you restored the backup from iTunes, you have to manually download all the apps back from the AppStore.
Never heard of such issue with iCloud before but you can sign out of all iCloud account starting with,
Settings>iCloud
Settings>Messages>iMessage
Settings>Facetime
Settings>iTunes & AppStore
Settings>Game Center
Turn off home sharing on your phone if its on. Then sign in back to each one of them with your apple account. -

Most likely it was hacked to unlock and upgrading the iOS has relocked it to the official carrier.

If you didn't set up iCloud and enable Find My iPhone on it before it was lost, it cannot be tracked. You'll just have to look for it or try calling your number to see if someone answers.

My broken iphone was replaced three days ago, but none of my images have restored from icloud yet?
i went to the apple store 3 days ago to replace my broken iphone 5. we backed up my old phone before starting up my new phone. everything transfered over but my images. we went back to the old phone and waited for an hour to back up my images to the icloud account. again we started up the new phone and my pictures all appeared to be there but they were in the process of downloading. the man at the store said it might take awhile, but they pictures should all download. it has now been three days and none of my pictures have restored/downloaded onto my new phone. i dont really know what to do. should i go back to the store?
You might need to stop the restore process and try restoring your backup again. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tap Stop Restoring... at the bottom. Then restore your backup again as explained here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521. When you're not using it, be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone else out there can duplicate this problem. I have tested this now on two different macbooks and one macbook pro with the same result. When dumping movies recorded off canon digital cameras, quicktime is unable to pl
