IPhone stolen in the post.

I've had my iPhone since December last year and it developed a fault and won't charge now. So I pretty much sent it in via the box they sent to me and now they haven't received my phone put simply.
I called this evening to ask what happened to it and was informed it was stolen and they said I need a receipt and the proof of postage from Royal Mail. The receipt, I honestly don't know where it is. I might be able to find it but what worries me more is a proof of postage. I was never given one by the Post Office and it was just posted as it was already addressed by Apple and paid for by them. So tomorrow I'm going to go to the Post Office and try and get one but I'm worried that won't even work because the package has already been posted.
If I find the receipt for my phone will that be enough? Because I don't want to have lost my £500 iPhone just because of a silly receipt plus my family would likely kill me. Please help me out because I honestly don't know what to do. I'm actually considering just bursting into tears because I'm worried I won't get my phone back. Can anybody help me in this situation? Apple support if you read this please help, I just hope I can find the receipt and hope that's enough if I can't get the Post Office to give me a proof of postage receipt.
This must have happened before to someone. Can anybody please help?

Apple support doesn't participate in these forums. All you can hope for here is to have someone who had a similar situation to be able to say what they experienced and see if they have any suggestions, and that's not particularly likely, though you might get lucky.
Apple, as is not surprising, is asking for proof that you shipped the package. If Royal Mail didn't give you any confirmation or tracking number, you may be out of luck. The original receipt for the iPhone purchase will almost certainly not be sufficient, since it doesn't constitute any proof that you shipped the iPhone to Apple. You can discuss the problem with them, and if they can't help try to negotiate with Apple Support.
Sorry, but there's probably not much more anyone here can offer in the way of advice.
Good luck.

I have a iphone4 stolen weeks ago. Now i just bought a new set and wish to use the same itune id for this new set. so that the apss purchased can be use in the new set instead of purchase it again. is it possible to do so?

yeah the ID and the phone are not tied together if you had given the phone away they could just connect it to their itunes and get all the apps they had in their ID
the apple_ID is only a way to get to the itune store

These are user-to-user forums, I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post.
Apple and/or iTunes support can't locate it for you, only you can potentially locate it via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPhone disabled on it.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

  • I've seen all the posts for fixing the wifi on the 4s, none of them work!  So, who can tell me why my iPhone 4S cannot find any wifi when it used to easily, and when it does it can never connect?

I've seen all the posts for fixing the wifi on the 4s, none of them work!  So, who can tell me why my iPhone 4S cannot find any wifi when it used to find wifi, and when it does find a wifi network it can never connect?  You think apple would have a clue how to fix it!  Because turning the wifi on and off doesn't work, resorting network settings doesn't work, even restoring phone to factory default doesn't work...

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

  • IPhone stolen less than 24 hours after taking it out of the box

    Hello,
Thursday night I took my brand-new iPhone 4S out of its box. Later that night, I was out with a friend at a bar. Someone must have seen me using it at some point during the evening; . I was ambushed in a bathroom stall, assaulted and had my phone stolen. The guy took off running and I wasn't able to catch up. He also took my debit card and liquidated my checking account.
The phone was unlocked, purchased directly from Apple. I'm desperate for help. Since it happened around 2:00 A.M. Friday morning and I spent all day at the police station and in touch with my bank regarding my debit card, I didn't have time to dial Apple before it closed to report the theft. I am absolutely going crazy over this. I used my credit card to purchase the phone, it cost me almost 600 euros and now it's gone, being used by someone who literally attacked me in a bathroom stall for it.
I tried registering it under my Apple ID with the serial number but it says it's been registered to another ID already. I didn't have time to activate the Find my iPhone feature (I literally had it for about eight hours)—does that mean it's just over? There's no chance of getting it back?
Is there anything Apple will be able to do? If the person who stole it has registered it to his Apple ID, then theoretically Apple would know who he is, wouldn't they? Can't they turn this information over the authorities?
Would they give me a new phone? Or a discount on another one? I just can't believe this is happening to me. I know it's just a phone but I didn't even have it for 24 hours and 600 euros is a lot of money for me. I'm beyond depressed about this.

  • I got my iPhone stolen at a party, the next day my friend gave me back my iPhone 4s and he said that it was jailbroken. Now it will not turn on. When i plug it in to a charger, the apple logo appears for about ten second, then connect to iTunes stays on.

Hello, i have a question on my iphone 4s. I went to a party a few days ago and it had gotten stolen. The next day my friend said that he had found it and it was jaibroken? The phone was on 1 % when i had recieved it. It then died and i plugged it in to the charger. When i plugged it in the apple logo appeared as if it was starting but, it wasnt. The apple logo appeared for about ten seconds and then the screen went black. After that, the connect to itunes screen popped up and will not go away. So now when i take it off of the charger the screen just stays black and wont turn on? I tried connecting it to itunes and restoring it. But it wont even show my phone any more on the side of itunes. I tried restoring it and an error had occured (2001). I have looked up on youtube how to fix this problem and non of them have helped or worked. Its my only phone and i cant even text my girlfriend which bothers me terribly!! Please help me ASAP!!

You're on your own.  Good luck.

  • My computer was stolen and now my wife and i are sharing her laptop.  we have separate apple ID accounts, i upgraded to iphone 4 since the robbery.  all of her apps are on my phone and i can not get my apps or upgrade exisiting apps using my apple account

my wife and I are now sharing the same laptop, mine was stolen, we have separate apple ID accounts.  i upgraded to iphone 4 after the robbery and activated my phone on her laptop.  when i try to download or upgrade apps her apple ID keeps popping up.  can we have separate accounts using the same laptop with different phones?  if so, how can i fix this?

It sounds as if you're using the same Mac OS X login account on that computer. If you create a separate login account for yourself, it will be as if you have two computers (other than the fact you can't both use it at the same time, of course).
Go to System Preferences->Users & Groups to create a new user account for yourself. Log out of your wife's account, then log in to your own account. You can now set up this user environment any way you like. When you launch iTunes the first time, enter your Apple ID and log in to the iTunes Store. Redownload all of your content. Then connect your iPhone to the computer using the USB cable - it will treat it as a new phone, let iTunes wipe the phone and set it up as new.
You might then want to set up Fast User Switching within System Preferences->Users & Groups which will allow you and your wife to swap the laptop between the two of you easily without even having to log out one account in order to log in to the other.

    No.  Sorry.
You should have been syncing them with your computer regularly.

  • I had my iphone stolen which had quite a lot of music on that I had downloaded from itunes but not synced with itunes on my computer. Is there any way to access the music now or is it lost?

    Hi,
I had my iphone stolen a few weeks ago which had quite a lot of music on that I had downloaded from itunes via my phone but had not synced with itunes on my computer.
Is there any way to access the music now or is it lost? Thanks x

By any chance, did you have the Find My iPhone app installed prior to it being stolen?

Hopefully you had your iTunes purchases backed up to an external source such as an external drive or CD's?

  • If my iPhone was stolen and i want to reactive an old phone using that same number for the time being while i waited to see if I could get my iPhone back, would the iPhone still work while i was using a re-activated old phone of mine?

If my iPhone was stolen and i want to reactive an old phone using that same number for the time being while i waited to see if I could get my iPhone back, would the iPhone still work while i was using a re-activated old phone of mine?

If a new SIM is activated on the same account for the same number, any existing SIMs for that number are deactivated.
Why exactly would you care if the SIM in the missing device still works or not?

  • IPhone Stolen , can apple block the phone's serial from itunes?

hi there , i've just lost my phone about like an hour ago while i was in the gym, i have the warranty card and the phone can be traced as registered under my name ( will be providing to any apple staff my identification card along with the report of the lost phone ) , pls tell me what i should do so that the phone can no longer be used. ( better still if you could some how miraculously trace the phone , im sad i did not get mobileme haih ! )

    No.
Contact the local police to report it, and contact your carrier to report your iPhone as lost or stolen. Many carriers will block a cell phone's IMEI number that has been reported lost or stolen by the owner which will prevent someone else from activating the iPhone with that carrier.
If you didn't have the Passcode Lock enabled, you should change the password for each email account you were accessing with the iPhone's Mail app.

I had an iphone 4s and it worked nice with facetime and imessage using my phone number but  it was stolen on December so I buy a new iphone 4s using the same cellphone number  but now imessage and facetime does not work with my number, it only works with my apple ID.   Please Help me I speak Spanish so  if my English is not ok  I´m sorry about it.
Do you think that apple has to   reset in their database of the old serial number attached with my phone number and that’s why I can´t activate imessage and facetime with my number in the new iphone 4s??

I understand all of this Meg; that is why I bought an Iphone; but never expected my phone not even give a at least a 24 or even 12 hours....I work 12 hour shifts and also would expect to have to charge each night but not twice a day or more.  I am not always somewhere I can charge my phone.
Your points are true; however it doesn't help me......

Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen items.  A carrier may offer IMEI blocking (non in the USA currently do, but elsewhere some do).  Your carrier would already know your IMEI number anyway, so just contact them and ask them about it.
It is VERY good that you had a passcode lock on the device.  That means your personal information will be safe.  And yes, after 10 failed attempts (each with increasing time out between allowing another attempt) the device will permanently lock them out until they restore the device in iTunes.  Anyone can go ahead and restore your iPhone as new in iTunes, but that also wipes everything off it and restores it to new condition - which does mean they can go off and use it as theirs, but at least all your data is gone.
Did you file a police report it was stolen?  Also your carrier should be told (and ask them about IMEI blocking).  Sorry it is gone, but you did the best thing possible to protect yourself and your information when you set up that passcode lock.
