IPhone stuck in 'iTunes' Screen

Hey, I just bought my iPhone today, and plugged it into my computer and iTunes said it had newer software to install to the iphone.. so I agreed for the installation to start.. and halfway through it says it cant be complete or something.. I tried googling the problem with no sucess.. I've tried the reboot option (I think I did it correctly? holding down the power button and the menu button?) Didn't work.. tried updating itunes.. i have the newest version.. tried installing it on my other computer.. didn't work.. so I tried calling Telus (Service Provider I am currently with) and they are shut down for maintenance. (just my luck) .. would very much appreciate a reply as soon as possible?
Thanks..
(my pc is Asus G73JW... running windows 7, my secondary computer runs XP and its a dell i think)

Many anti-virus and firewall programs will cause problems with software downloads and iOS updates from Apple. Turn both of those programs off (you might want to reboot to clear the memory cache as well), do your update, and then turn them back on. During the iOS update process, your computer calls home to Apple to exchange information. When that is blocked by your firewall, you get pretty much what you are seeing.

If that Article did not resolve it... then perhaps a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required..

i downloaded ios5 an error message 3002 came up now my iphone stuck on loading screen and itunes doesnt recognize my iphone.
now my iphone has a blank screen for a couple seconds the loading screen appears then apple re appears.
A REPEATING CYCLE now i have No PHONE!!!! Help ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    Try it...
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
i´ve done it and worked 100%

Are you using the SIM that came with the iPhone?
Try re-seating the SIM as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1438
Did this happen when you attempted to update the iPhone? Have you used any 3rd party software to unlock the iPhone?

  • Ipod Touch Stuck On iTunes Screen. The iPod 'iPod' cannot be restored at this time because the ipod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.

I got a new ipod touch for Christmas.
Today I was going to put music on it, i was told there was updates.
So I went ahead to do them.
My Ipod is stuck on the screen with the usb cord pointing to the itunes logo.
    In Itunes i'm told :
Itunes has dected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used with itunes.
Turning the ipod off - the same screen appears when it's back on.
When I click restore ipod and after restore and update is clicked ; Extracting software loads up at the top.
When its done this is the message I get:
The iPod 'iPod' cannot be restored at this time because the ipod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.
I've been looking up trying to figure it out myself and have read making sure a setting in Lan Settings in Internet Properties has ; Automatically detect settings checked. I still get the same ipod message.
I've tried holding the power and home key to turn it off, then powering it back on. But that doesn't work.
I installed itunes today, so its up to date - I checked.
I don't know what else to do.
    Can someone help me out, please? :}
The operating system was ios 5 something? It wanted to update to 6 i believe.

I've tried the top part but now that i've looked to the bottom:

The “hosts” file may also be blocking gs.apple.com.
Select the hosts file (normally you can find your hosts file at C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC).
I put this in the url bar?
When it gives me the list of names, im not sure what to do from there. The steps aren't that clear for me.

  • Phone is Stuck on iTunes screen and won't Restore

Ok. I've been through this forum, website and even Google. I've litterally tried everything and am now so frustrated I could scream. Here's my problem. I tried to update my brand new out of the box iPhone 4S through iTunes (which yes, it's the latest version), it stopped and froze the phone. On restarting iTunes it told me the phone was in recovery mode and need to be restored, so I clicked the Restore button. It got maybe half way through the process then flashed me an Error 21 or something.
Here's what I've tried and all have FAILED:
    - held the on/off/sleep button and "home" button for the 10 seconds and let go of both, nada
    - held the on/off button and home button, letting go of the home button before the apple logo pops up, nada
    - held the on/off button and home button, letting go of the on/off button, and continuing to hold the home button, nada
    - went to windows > control panel > whatever, whatever > stopped apple mobile whatever > started apple mobile whatever > restarted itunes/connected phone, nada
    - restarted computer, nada
    - unselected all the duplicate songs, didn't seem to do anything...
sooo anyone have any bright ideas of how I can bypass the iTunes/USB screen it's frozen on and at least be able to access and USE my phone?!

Hold down the Home and Power button to shut off the iPhone. Keep it disconnected from the computer. Then, hold down the Home for 20 seconds. Connect it to the computer while continuing to hold down the Home button. Wait for iTunes to say your iPhone is in Recovery mode. Then, restore.

Remember where you saved it. Do not open it.

I tried turning of my iPhone 3G off and now it is stuck on the screen with the timer waiting to finally shut off.  It has been on this screen for a while now. I just wanted to restart my phone. What do I need to do to finally shut it off?

To restart:  Press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to power off. Then press and hold the sleep / wake button until you see the Apple logo.
To turn it off press the sleep / wake button then swipe the slider to power off.

  • IPod stuck on iTunes screen

    Hi all,
I have a 3rd gen iPod touch currently jailbroken on iOS 4.1. It was working fine until a few days ago when I was listening to music and the screen suddenly became unresponsive. The buttons would still work and the music would still play but the screen was useless. I couldn't turn it off so when the battery ran out eventually I connected it to my PC to charge and it gave me the iTunes screen. Whenever I open iTunes it says my iPod's locked with a password and it can't access it and there's no where for me to enter the password on my iPod itself. At this point I'm left confused about how this problem came out of the blue, so I would appreciate any help on this issue

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Stuck on itunes screen

ok so, I have an iphone 3gs with its original sim card. Although it is no longer connected to its att network, I would like to let my toddlers play with it, but I can not get pass the itunes emergency call only screen. The phone was previously reset, I tried to connect to my computer, but it is not even showing up as a device in itunes. I tried home button/ power button home button rest thing. Didnt work... Can anyone can me advice on how to get to a home page? I thought this would be easy like an ipad, but I have been proved untech. Thanks in advance

Try and force iPad Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
