Iphone stuck in recovery with itunes logo. wont restore in itunes either. what to do?

yesterday my iPhone was on the carrier mode 'searching...' and wouldn't find connection, taken sim out put back in. done everything. went to EE store and got told to reset iPhone so that's what I did, from my iPhone. from then it frozen on the restore screen and wouldn't restore. I looked on-line and did recovery mode and now its stuck in recovery and wont restore on iTunes. How do reset and update my phone? HELP

Had the same thing happen to my iphone 6 that I just purchased 3 weeks ago. I did the latest upgrade to the software ,phone worked fine for the day but later that night it crashed, went to a black screen and would not do anything. I put it into dfu recovery mode to restore which is where it got worse. Phone was locked with the "connect to iTunes screen " and when I tried to restore several times kept getting error code 4003 and 4013. End result was a trip to the genius bar at the Apple Store where it was determined to be most likely some sort of hardware failure so they replaced my phone with what looked like a refurb but so far so good with the new one. Knock on wood. I still believe there are issues with this latest update because although my phone is working it's not running as smooth as it did the first few weeks I had it. I am very disappointed with the ongoing issues with the iPhone's. I've had every model phone from back to the i3 and never had as many issues combined with this latest iPhone 6. Here hoping Apple gets it together or this will be my last ios device!!

  • Iphone 4 stuck in recovery mode and will not restore in itunes. HELP!

    Hey Guys
I tried to jailbreak my iphone (bad idea obviously) and ever since, its been screwing up.
At first, it was stuck on the apple logo- Then I followed some videos on Youtube and it was stuck on the Pineapple from Redsnow..
NOW its stuck in restore mode (the screen with the USB and the Itunes symbol) I have tried to restore it 3 times and it gives me an error message (1604) or it doesn't even restore.
HELPP! It's been like this all day. What could I do?

FIRST, edit your hosts file (which was corrupted by the jailbreak process) and remove any references to gs.apple.com; delete the whole lines and save the file. If you don't know how to do this you will have to get help, and it shows that jailbreaking was a bigger mistake than you thought.
Next, connect to a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub and disconnect all USB devices that consume power or bandwidth (like USB drives).
Put it into DFU mode to restore. With the phone disconnected hold HOME and SLEEP until a black screen appears. Immediately release SLEEP and continue holding HOME. While holding connect to iTunes and continue holding. After a while (perhaps several minutes) iTunes should recognize the phone. When it does release the HOME button and hope for the best.

hey guys, okay so my best friend gave me her iphone 4 as she has a iphone 5 she never used her iphone 4 for calling people texting e.t.c as her contract from her past phone hadnt finished so she just used it like a ipod, she used it for over a year and a half and it worked amazingly! until one day it she dropped it and it  froze the simtray fell out and shes lost it since,  she held the home and lock button and it wouldnt turn back on, she gave it to me to see if i could get it working somehow and if i could i can have it...so i went home, charged it, it was in some other language saying i have to connect it to itunes which i did and the whole restore and update thing came up and ive done it so many times but now when i take it out of the USB it just goes black it wont turn on, ive followed all the footsteps that apples has given me ive tried it on multiple laptops, tried the whole device auto sync thingy, what do i do will apple help me or give me a new iphone or? i'm 15 btw?

I had a similar problem by the sounds, my iPhone 4 was close to dead in battery, then it just kept the boot logo on the screen and once every 2 minutes or so it made the usb connected noise when plugged into my mac.
Tried: restore in the brief moment it connects to itunes FAIL
Tried: home and power button for hours! FAIL
Tried all sorts of jargon on the net and in the end i came up with this clever tricker.
    Download the latest iOS
Put your iPhone in DFU mode (google it)
Connect to iTunes and restore - it's the only way I have found, and it's not been mentioned anywhere else I think.
So I'm going to re post this EVERYWHERE

  • IPhone frozen in recovery mode and won't restore through iTunes.

I tried to download the software update ios7.0.4 through itunes, and now my phone is frozen on the blue itunes icon with the image of the plug. I've recovered it several times through itunes, which completes the restoration then tells me the iphone should restart. But when it restarts it goes back to the same blue itunes icon.I have also made sure my itunes is updated, my security is not problematic, restarted my computer several times, and restored through a different computer. All the information I can find tells me to recover through itunes. This is not working. Please help?

    Hi Matt,

    Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.

  • Iphone stuck in recovery mode trying to update

I was attempting to update to the new ios 8. I did this all in the normal way as i usually do. When it got to the extracting software at the top of the itunes screen it took about 1 hour for this to nearly reach the end. then just before it reached the end it stopped and said it could not be restored as the iphone could not be found. now the iphone 5 is stuck in recovery mode and every time i connect it to itunes it says i need restore which i do and then the same thing keeps happening. it goes to extracting software bar for an hour and then stops just as it is about to finish.
i have a laptop with windows xp and have installed latest itunes, i have attempted rebooting everything with no joy.
    please help.
    iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

Follow exactly what I wrote below to fix iPhone stuck in recovery mode:
Hold both power button & home button for 10 seconds.
Once the device shuts off release the power button and keep holding the home button for 10 more seconds.
The screen will remain black, plug it up to iTunes and see if it detects it.
If that does not work hold both buttons to make device shut down, once screen is off hold the home button while plugging it up to PC.
Do not let go of home button till recovery screen shows up on your device.

  • Iphone stuck in recovery mode, what now

iphone stuck in recovery mode, what do i do now pls?

Updating iTunes has nothing to do with an iDevice going into recovery mode.
If the device is in recovery mode, restore it via iTunes on a computer.

  • My  ipad i have been restore it yesterday my computer shut down in the middel now my ipad2 stuck in recovery mode and cant be detect by itunes ?

my  ipad i have been restore it yesterday my computer shut down in the middel now my ipad2 stuck in recovery mode and cant be detect by itunes and it is jaikbroken ?

Try these steps. If it doesn't work the first time, try a second time.
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off. (If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.)
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on. (Note: If you see the screen that shows you are out of battery, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.)
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode..."
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    Hope this helps!
