IPhone stuck on lock screen? Buttons don't work?

So, 11 minutes ago, I guess, I was just opening my iPhone 4 and the slider got stuck at the end. Now no buttons work, nor the touch screen, and it still says 6:18 pm...now it's 6:30. The slider is still at the very right of the bar, as though it's about to open, but it isn't. I tried plugging it in to my computer with the USB and it says in iTunes that is "cannot connect to iPhone because there is an invalid response" or something like that. So I have no idea what to do.... SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! I need to use the phone immediately! I can't do a single thing!

Reset the iPhone, hold at same time both the Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds, the iPhone will turn off by itself and then it will turn on, done.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My lock screen button is not working and i turned off my iphone with assistive touch. Now i cant turn my phone back on!

I used assistive touch to turn off my iphone, because my lock screen button is not working, so now i cant turn it back on! What i did was, i went to assistive touch, then i held down the lock screen button to turn it off. Now i can't turn it back on.

To turn it back on when you use assistive touch, all you have to do is plug your iphone into a charger and it will power back on

My iPhone 4S has been frozen in the loading screen I don't know how to fix it:( my lock screen button doesn't work

Without a working lock screen button, you'll probably have to wait for the battery to go dead.  Once it doesn't wake up by pressing the home button you can plug it into a charger and it will eventually reboot.

  • Iphone 4S - Wifi and bluetooth buttons don't work

Wifi and bluetooth buttons don't work in my Iphone 4S. I have tried all the suggested possible solutions, but nothing seems to work. Can anybody help?

This is the only support document there is regarding the problem. If this does not help, you would need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

  • Iphone 5 Lock Screen button doesn't work.

Hi, i have an iPhone 5, and the lock button doesn't work immediatley on press. I have to press it about 5 times for this to work... I'm pretty sure my apple warranty has ran out, is there another way of fixing it?

Use virtual power button. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > Device > Lock Screen. This can even turn iPhone OFF. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, charger or USB of computer.

  • My lock screen button won't work how can I fix this?

My lock button won't work, every time I click it it won't lock my screen unless I press the button hard enough and or in a weird gesture, how can I fix this where I don't need to struggle locking it?

    Stating the obvious,
    Can you Reset it?
Have you checked if the Hold switched is not in locked position? (should not see the red mark)

  • Lock screen button has stopped working on my IPhone 5 after weeks of use

Hello, I received my IPhone 5 as a Christmas present, and 2 weeks ago my lock button stopped working. I don't have insurance on my phone, but is there a possibility I can get a replacement or get it fixed through apple either freely or inexpensively?

Since you have had your iPhone under a year if you take it to a apple store and go to the genius bar they should replace your current iPhone with a brand new one for free.

  • I updated my iphone 4 but now it just flashes the apple logo? i also can't reset as the lock screen button doesn't work...

im assuming im going to just need to go to the apple store and get it fixed?

    Was the iPhone factory unlocked?
If so then do a search of these forums for the fixes for Sim card errors; there are a few people with ideas on how to fix it.
If it was unlocked after you bought it, then you will not be able to update the software.
And it will have been Jail broken, which cannot be discussed on this forum.

  • My iphone screen wont work, and my off lock screen button does not work, what can i do?

    Hey guys,
can you please help! I have never been in this situation and i need help desperately

    Verizon does not fix/repair/replace devices.
Apple provides all hardware support in the US.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
FYI, they do not fix devices, so backup your device prior to going to the store.

  • Lock Screen Button doesn't work.

Help please, the top button used for locking the iPod is either stuck in (because it doesnt click) or it doesn't work. I have also updated it to the latest iOS (4.3.5) and that still doesn't help. Any ideas?

Soundsl like a hardware problem.  If under warranty I would make an appontment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  You can also look here since it may apply to the Power button.

  • IPhone 5 lock screen button issue

My lock screen button is not working properly, I had a one year warranty on the phone through apple which expired 9 days ago.  My phone is insured through Verizon is this something that would be covered?

Lets get it to work, Sam_123! What is going on with the lock screen? Is it frozen? Have you tried to reset the device? Is there any damage? Share details so that I can help.

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged.  Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so?  If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer.  Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one.
