IPhone suddenly no sound during phone conversation! Help!

Hi all,
Recently my iPhone suddenly no sound during phone conversation, can't hear any sound from the other side. However if i choose 'handfree' during call engaging then it's ok for external speaker. Also listening music is ok...
Also I obsevered that the light-sensor won't blank the screen. Is it hardware issue so that I have to send to Apple for repair?

I've had my ip4 for about a week now and I keeping muting or dialing numbers with my ear during phone conversations because the phone wakes up while I have it against my ear. Is there a setting or fix to this?

using my iMac (early 2008) it sometimes happens (since the update to 10.6.8 ?), that I suddenly do not have any sound at all (volume is up, no mute active). After a while I discovered the hint also placed in https://discussions.apple.com/message/15943204#15943204 as a solution once, but it annoys me to have do that every other day or so.
Fast User switching is active and usualy two users logged in, sometimes more (children).
I have not discovered any pattern, that could lead to this phenomenom. Any help appreciated.

I'm using a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 (which has a microphone on the side). I have several other devices plugged into separate USB slots: a keyboard, a mouse, my iPhone, and a Roland keyboard midi controller.
I've considered that maybe the webcam/mic combo is the culprit. If USB doesn't work at a constant speed, that could very well be causing the issue! The sound begins to lag badly sometimes when it's working properly, so that there's a multisecond delay between speaking and hearing my voice repeated back over the mic which is another sign that something is wrong. I've also caught it making a strange electronic sound during its "hang" time once it stops taking sound input correctly.
Maybe I should try to use line-in and forgo USB altogether then. I think I'd need a preamp and some sort of converter for that since the Mac Mini lacks a powered mic jack. I'm only a newbie musician so I've never set up such a system but it might be a better solution in the long run.
I'll check to see if it hangs before or after my computer enters suspend mode, that's a good suggestion too. Thank you for your help!

Imported video from iPhone suddenly without sound. Thanks Apple!

Is there any way of recovering the original file from my iphone? Im used to Apple delivering products of high quality therefore I delete all files from my iPhone after importing to my computer. You shouldnt have to save the files just to make sure the import was a success. But this time I shouldnt have trusted this lousy piece of "equipment". I, full of anticipation, watched my movies. They have not sound! Why now!? Why these movies?! I have not changed any settings in my iPhone at all since last recording of videos with working sound and I have racorded videos with working sound after these.
The imported videofile have no sound at all. This is not a question about volume. VLC tells me there is no sound stream at all! Videos taken the day after have normal working sound. Presumably worthless iTunes messed up the importing and some great, priceless minutes of video gets destroyed because there is no sound!
Please someone help me recover the original files from my iPhone or get these minutes of video WITH sound. pleaase!

The fact that you never heard of it doesnt change my situation. But thanks for the sympathy.
The problem still exists.
If it is not iPhotos fault. It must be Apples video-app on my iPhone. Right?! Its still the same company that made this junk. I dont know of any swith muting the sound while recording video.
I am also aware of the problems involved in saving data that has been flagged "OK to delete" by the OS.
Regarding the "try google tip" Im not sure if you are suggesting any other means of data recovery that wouldnt be proper to suggest on this website but still might work. If that is the case please insist on suggesting that method once more, maybe beeing a bit more specific?

HT4993 iPhone makes random Keytone during call ~ Please help

I thought it was just my phone, but I decided to look up this random keytone during phone calls on the internet and found this is a common problem with iPhones. I have a iPhone 5s and this has been happening since I purchased it in Nov 13.
I cannot believe there is not a fix for this very annoying problem.
Please let me know if there is a solution I just have not come across yet.

The keytone noise is random during phone calls. My cell carrier is Sprint and my internet provider is AT&T. However, after reading about 100 post today on differt blogs it does not seem to be an issue with a carrier or a internet provider.
What I have been reading is that it happen after doing updates on the iPhones. Mine happen to start as soon as I opened and used my new iPhone 5s. It is so annoying and I have read enough about the issue today to know that there are 100s out there if not 1000s with the same issue. Different carriers, different internet providers, but all the same type of phones iPhones 4s and 5s after doing updates.
Since it is a known problem I was hoping someone at Apple would be able to tell me if it can't be fixed that at least they are working on a fix.

My iphone 4 bought in portugal to vodafone is randomly turning off at full charge during phone calls is driving me crazy!!! It has been to vodafone twice.

Outbound audio fades out during phone conversations on an iPhone 5 - frequent complaints from almost everyone I speak with.

When on a call on an iPhone 5, the person on the other end of the line frequently complains that they have "lost me" and they can't hear anything I'm saying. The inbound audio on my end sounds fine. Any reports of microphone or other issues on the iPhone 5?
The complaints don't appear to be related to any particular call circumstance (inbound vs outbound, land line vs another cell phone, different carriers) - appears to happen in all situations.

You might want to talk with Apple Support or go to the Apple Store, as this could be a device issue. However, it's likely an iOS 7 software issue, or the simple fact that your iPhone is getting "older". I have an iPod touch 5 (same year and software as your iPhone), and I have noticed the decline of my device.

Sound during phone calls very soft, can't increase volume further. Help!

Within the past few days I've noticed that I can barely hear someone when I speak on the phone (without the earphone/mic). Speaker function works, but I don't want to use it all the time. The volume is turned up as far as it can go. Anyone else have this problem. When I do try using the earphones/mic, it works fine.

Have you tried to reboot the iPhone. That is done by holding down the home button and the power off/on button until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slide to power off screen. Also, no insult intended, I have found that if I don't hold the iPhone to my ear just the right way, I have a difficult time hearing it. It might just be readjusted the position of the phone to you ear. However, if a reboot or repositioning don't work, the last user troubleshooting is a restore, first from a backup and if no help, then as a new phone or not from a backup. You will need to ensure you have everything set in supported applications before you do the restore as a new phone so you can sync all of your content back.

IPhone 4 plays music during phone call

When my iPhone 4 is connected to the car's radio, with a usb cable, and playing music, at the time I answer a phone call, the music stops but a few seconds later it starts playing whatever song, during the phone call. It never happened before, it started about a month ago. Maybe right after I uploaded to 7.0.2. What can I do to fix this?

IPhone 4: No sound from phone receiver

Hi all. I'm not sure if anybody else is having this problem. Just got my new iPhone4 yesterday. Was excited until last night. Everything works fine and well, good signals, camera, wifi, etc. Unfortunately, found a serious problem. There is no sound coming out from the receiver for both incoming and outgoing calls. I can hear sound if I activate the built-in speaker or when plug in the stereo earpiece, but not from the receiver. Ipod and Youtube works fine with the speaker and earpiece. I updated the firmware to 4.1 still no fix, I have restored the phone countless times with no fix too. Is this a known problem and it's a faulty set? Should I get an exchange from Apple? I'm in Singapore. Thanks all!

I know this is probably sounds like a silly question, but you have taken the protective plastic off that came with the phone? Excluding that, and with the restores you've already done it sounds like you have a defective phone.

8110 reboots during phone conversation

I have plenty of free memory and my BB functions properly all the time. However when I am on the phone the entire device just randomly shuts down and reboots. It just turns off and then turns back on like it normally would if I had turned it off and then on. It brings up the hour glass for a while and eventually is starts back up. What is going on? Everyone thinks that I am hanging up on them.

Have you tried removing the battery and replacing it after one minute - let the phone reboot and see if this helps any?

Beeping during phone conversation

I have had my Razr for about a month and just recently noticed that during conversations I'm hearing a beeping in the background. The other party can't hear it only I can hear the beeps. I have read the other blogs and have changed my roaming settings and tired *228 option #2 to no avail. I later read that with the 4G the *228 doesn't work anyway. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

@mediclady, you and a lot of other people. If you follow the thread I posted, there are many with this problem. They are told to do resets and other things but nobody seems to have found "it" although some folks seem to have gotten rid of the beep (at least as of the time of their posting).
@pdfb, if what ChristinaB_VZW recommends works, or if you DirectMessage her and get a solution, many folks would appreciate a post back here as to what fixed your problem. Otherwise, I'm afraid it's looking like one more rabbit hole.
I don't have the issue, so I have no experience in this. I just have read a lot of messages from some very frustrated people and hope there is a well published answer soon.

IPhone 3GS shutting down during phone talk

My new iPhone 3gs is shutting down sometimes when I talk on it.
I suspected it was a battery problem (I saw once the battery meter drop to zero), so I installed the "powerlogging" profile.
Now, the log in the itunes folder seem to suggest that "SpringBoard" is shutting down due to kIOPMPSAtCriticalLevelKey battery notification.
I already tried restoring the phone, but to no avail.
I'm running 3.1.2 (and won't upgrade because I hear many people complaining about the upgrade)

People complain about every upgrade. And the fact is, even it it was in the thousands (which it is less than that here, more like hundreds) that is a fraction of a percent to number of active iPhones. This last update is actually an important one as most of it was security related updates that fix holes in Safari and other parts of phone that will allow a bad website to pretty much get access to your phone data. So update. Who knows, could be since the update came out, they actually said what it fixed (normally they keep it generic but this time they said trying to fix security holes that would allow remote code execution) could be that since it was public knowledge a lot of script kiddies got hold of the hard core hacks and started posting stuff everywhere hoping to catch somebody just like you that was too slow to update and thus could be causing your issues.

Ios7 drops calls and calls random people during phone conversations

Is anyone else having this problem. My phone will mute, call random people, facetime randome people, all while I am trying to talk to the person I called.

Random calls even when the phone is locked and in my pocket.
Got a call from someone in my recent calls list saying I had just rung them.
My phone was in my pocket and locked, looked at it and sure enough I had rung them for 23seconds.
Another one is, if the phone drops a call, the other caller calls you back and you end the call and conversation etc, the home screen shows call failure from the previous call, when you unlock the home screen, it tries to automatically dial the number of the dropped call. Whats worse, sometimes it wont allow you to end the call until it has gone through.
Whats going on at Apple?
Apple hardware used to be reliable and bug free, recently its just been bug laden, rushed out rubbish with no real thought.
The fact that IOS7 has only been out a few weeks and we are already at IOS7.03, shows just how badly Apple are testing their products before release.
What happened to the Apple slogan of - "It just works"???????

Iphone 6 turns off during phone calls

Hello,
This happens intermittently when making a phone call. Screen goes dark, -cannot bring screen back on and have to shutdown the phone and restart.
Any ideas as to where to start to resolve this?

If the proximity sensor is covered by a case, your hand, or by being close to your face, the screen should go dark and unresponsive, but the call should not be disconnected.
Is there anything covering the proximity sensor? It is located between the earpiece and the top edge.
