how can i get the photos from the phone 3g to the new phone? i'm afraid if i sync my old phone photos it will delete the photos from the phone. please help clarify how i can do this. thanks all.

Why don't you just import these photos to your computer, as designed, then sync them to your 4S:

There are multiple reasons that lead to issue. You should read the troubleshooting guide to get the right solution to solve the issue: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

  • HT1688 syncing issues with photos

I am trying to sync but do not want to sync my photos with my phone. In fact I want to delete all photos from my phone because they are wasting memory. How can I delete photos in the "album" area and how can i sync without it uploading all the photos I just downloaded to iphoto?

If you don't want to have any photos on your iPhone transferred from your computer and all such photos removed from your iPhone, deselect Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • Iphone syncing issues with PC - wanting 11.1 version of iTunes or better.  Downloaded but it still fails.

Are people having syncing problems with iPhones ios 7 with itunes?  I am getting a message insisting that I need to download iTunes 11.1 or better for the backup and sync to work.  Having downloaded 11. it still doesn't work.  Anyone else having that problem?

Okay, iTunes 11 (which version?) has been downloaded, but was it installed?
Downloading and installing are not the same thing.
What version of iTunes is actually installed on the computer?

  • IPhone - Sync issue with Calendar and Outlook 2003

I have been syncing with no problem up to yesterday - now I can't sync my Calendar with my PC. It doesn't make any difference whether I make an entry in iPhone or Outlook. I have reset sync history in iTunes - no change.
The only thing that I can think of that I did out of the ordinary was to copy and paste my contacts into another contacts group in Outlook.
It would appear to be a problem with Outlook as the iPhone syncs with iCal and Address book on my G4 laptop.
    Appreciate your help.
    Alani

Outlook is definately a problem. Ive been at it for a couple of days going through this thread and others. Still not syncing.
What Apple has to realize is that windows people have different microsoft offices, i use 2000 because the schedule is shared between everyone, this is an addon in newer copys of office.
When i make a call or recieve a call i would like to see an option to add the caller to the schedule .. When your on the phone with the caller you can just hit a button and it brings you right to the calendar and enters the caller in the schedule where ever you place them.
Anyway i will keep at the sync thing for a while and see what happens. Nothing so far. l8r

  • IPhone "cannot be synced;" issues with photos!

I tried to delete some of my photos from my 8G iPhone since they were taking up a lot of room, but when I tried to sync my iPhone with only some picture folders selected instead of all of My Pictures, iTunes refused to delete the old pictures and left white squares with strange formatting and the same labels, taking up the same amount of memory, in their place. An error message popped up which says: The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39.)" Help! I've restarted my computer and turned my phone on and off again but nothing has helped and the same error shows up each time. I couldn't even get the old pictures back onto the phone...

One thing that you can try.
Before going through a full restore, try syncing to a blank folder first.
Create a folder on your desk top or where it is convenient.
    Call it Blank.
Now open itunes and connect the iphone.
Set itunes to sync pictures only to that blank folder and click apply.
This clear out any pictures you have synced to the iphone.
Now try syncing to a folder with just a few pictures.
If this does not work, then you might want to do the restore as suggested by Allan.
Here is an article from the apple support website that explains more about the restore process.

    Hope this helps

  • IPhone sync issues with 3gp videos:

My girlfriend texts me a video from her iPhone 4 to my iPhone 4.  I downloaded it to my computer and put it in a file folder.  I try to sync my iPhone and iTunes crashes when it gets to the sync photos part every time.  I had this issue two weeks ago and after like 30 trys it synced.  Am I doing something wrong?  I just want to log videos in their own folders like I do pictures to stay organized.  Thanks.

O.K this is rather hilarious because I am talking to myself here, but I actually found a solution that works.
Check out this free program. http://www.qtsync.com
It's free, so obviously I am not plugging something here. I loaded my 3gp files into here, and it has a function which will tell you the length of the audio relative to the video. As I suspected, all my video files were a few beats longer. It was literally this simple: change the value of the video length to match audio length. VOILA. Audio and video perfectly in sync for the entire movie.
I was then able to use the software to export as .mp4 / .mov or whatever, ready for editing.
This is a really simple and powerful tool, and I am guessing you could use it to correct a huge range of similar problems, as it doesn't require you to enter a framerate or anything, just simply match the length of audio + video.
Ok. I am so happy right now I am going to start another thread just advertising this solution..because a lot of people have had the problem and this is the only thing I found that works consistently.

  • 2 iPhones and issues with photos into iPhoto Photo Stream

Both my husband and I have new iPhones; we also have an iPad and iMac. I mention this only because I'm hoping to find a solution to a minor problem when our photos get imported to the Photo Stream. Some of our photos have the same file name - because they are coming from 2 different phones. The issue is when the photo stream is updating, we get a message saying there is a file (or files) with the same name - and we have to make a decision about keeping them or renaming them.
Anyone know of a 'fix' for this....I mean, this will be an ongoing issue because he's at photo image # 523 and I'm at image # 347 (or something along those lines).
    Thanks!

It sounds like you are both using the same Apple ID.
You both need to have your own Apple ID for iCloud.

  • IPhone Sync Issues with new iTunes update

Well this morning my iphone would not sync past calenders. I was able to cancel the sync and get music on the phone but it wont go through the usual sync process of the photo library and contacts etc...anyone else having a similar problem?

Well its simple. Just go to your finder and search for iphone. You will find a backup folder. But, you should just be able to restore your iphone. Then after restore it will ask which backup your will like to use. Then in the drop down menu select your phones name and it should restore all contacts, text messages and notes as well as bookmarks. It worked fine for me until I used iFuntastic and Apptap. I guess it alterd the backup file and deleted all my notes. So, unless you have "hacked" your phone it should restore and re enter your info fine.

  • Q10 Sync issues with photos

My photos show as synced when my Blackberry Q10 is attached to the Blackberry Desktop sofware. However, when i remove the device, all new pictures no longer are synced. All software is up to date.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Yes, I apologize. The video editor wasn't giving me any details. I did see the 44.1/48khz issue online. So will this happen only if both are mixed in the same timeline?

  • IPhone sync issue with iTunes after Snow Leopard upgrade

I upgraded to Snow Leopard and since then iTunes does not see my iPhone 3GS and I am unable to sync. I've read the troubleshooting guide to no avail. What am I missing?

If you are running v10.6.3 as your profile suggests, update to v10.6.8.
Click your Apple menu / Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.
See if iTunes will recognize your iPhone.
If your software is up to date then try here >  iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • Photo sync issues with iPhone 3GS

My wife is having two problems with photos on the iPhone.
The first problem she is having is some photos that she wants on the iPhone will not sync because "The iPhone cannot display them". The photos are in JPG format, and she has several other JPGs on the iPhone.
Which leads us to the second problem. When she syncs the iPhone with iTunes she gets duplicate photos on the iPhone. Also, they cannot be deleted as there is no trash icon when she browses them.
Her phone is a 1 day old 16 GB 3GS, using a Win XP machine (iTunes 8.2.1.6)
Any help is appreciated as she is very frustrated by this.
    Thanks,
    -Seth

Photos transferred from the computer to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process are selected under the Photos tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Photos transferred via the iTunes sync process is a one way transfer process only - from the computer to the iPhone, and are removed from the iPhone in the same way - via the iTunes sync process - the same for music and video. Photos transferred to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process cannot be deleted by the iPhone. Photos captured by the iPhone - photos in the iPhone's camera roll can be deleted by the iPhone.
Not sure about the photos that will not transfer problem - I've never had a problem transferring any photos from my Mac, which are all jpeg format.

  • Duplication Issues with Photo Sync via iTunes/iPhoto and Photo Stream/iCloud (Detailed Scenario Given)

    Hi Everyone,
I'd like to share an issue I am having with photo syncing between my iDevices.
Here is how I USED to sync my Photos between my iDevices (no issues with photo duplication)
Note: In this scenario, I use iTunes and iPhoto on my Mac. iCloud and Photo stream have NOT been activated in this case.
    1. Take photos via iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
    2. After a month or so, I will connect my iPhone to my Mac.
    3. Import my Photos in iPhoto and arrange  Events and Photos in monthly sections and add some of them in a separate Albums (ex. Written Notes Photos) for easy access.
    4. Once the import is done, iPhoto prompts an option to delete photos in my Camera Roll which I do as I like to start a fresh month with empty Camera Roll in my iPhone.
    5. In order to access the Photos I have imported in iPhoto in my iPhone, I go to iTunes and sync all my photos to my iPhone. This syncs my events, photos, faces, albums as they have been arranged in iPhoto in my Mac. (I cant delete them in my iPhone once they are synced. I have to delete in my iPhoto and sync again to have similar setup in my iPhone which isn't a problem).
NOW I decided I don't want to manually go through all this process and went on to enable the Photo Stream ON in my iPhone and iPhoto with iCloud.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENSUES.
    1. I  Take photos with my iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
    2. This automatically syncs with my Mac due to Photo Stream which a really convenient.
    3. It syncs automatically to Photo Stream, Events, Photos, Faces section in the iPhoto and I put put some of them (notes) in a separate album.
    THE PROBLEM:
The Photos does not show up in the Album, Events and Photos Folder in my iPhone. They are only shown in Camera Roll. So I thought to sync using iTunes so the new Photos will be arranged in their appropriate folder like it used to with my prior process of syncing. This worked, HOWEVER the photos in my iPhone started showing DUPLICATES! Apparently, one comes from Photo Stream (which, if I delete on my phone also deletes in all my iDevices) and the other duplicate is from the iTunes sync (this sets up my photos as arranged in iPhoto which is what i WANT to happen as Photo Stream does not sync them accordingly).
SOLUTION I AM IN SEARCH FOR:
I want to be able to take photos with my iPhone that automatically syncs in iCloud AND iPHOTO AS ARRANGED IN MY MAC (Albums, Events etc) WITHOUT PROBLEM OF PHOTO DUPLICATES.

Other folks have resolved similar issues by trashing  the iPod Photo Cache.
    Regards
    TD

  • Sync issues with iPhone 6 Plus and iTunes

I'm having issues with syncing my iPhone and iTunes.
    I am running: Mavericks 10.9.3 | iTunes 11.4 | iOS 8.0.2
Every time I try to sync my iPhone 6 Plus with iTunes, the sync process gets stuck on step 5 of 5 (waiting for changes to be applied).  The longest this has occurred for is 2hrs.  After this time I have stopped the sync and ejected my iPhone.
I had another issue with my phone when playing music.  When going to play music, I was given the error message saying that the song could not be found.  I connected my iPhone to iTunes and went to the tab in summery page, 'on this iPhone'.  I found the song and could see that next to the song was a small what looked like dotted grey circle.  After Googling this, I found a video saying that if i was to remove all my music and then add it again, this should fix the problem with this song.  I did this and this was when the issue occurred again.
I unticked the option to remove all music but the sync did not finish. So I cancelled the sync, ejected my iPhone and tried again.  This time, the summery page of my iPhone said there was no music on my iPhone and the 'on this iPhone'  tab, this all so said there was no music however, my music was still on my iPhone including the song that would not play.  All played ok.
I have read lots in the Apple forums about lost of difference reason this may be happening.  Things like bugs in iOS 8, app updates being transferred during the sync process, the latest iTunes version has bugs and even a dodgy USB cable could cause it.  My iPod running iOS 5 syncs all ok but I get this problem as well on my iPad Air.
I all so had this issue with my old iPhone 4S.  The problem occurred when running iOS 7 and 8 on the 4S.  When I had it on the 4S, I did a restore of the 4S 4 times and thought I had found the issue down too a dodgy app.  However, now that it has happened on my new iPhone and still not using that app, could this be an issue with my Mac/iTunes?
I am in contact with Apple Care, but this is such a long process.
So if anybody could please offer any advice on this or steps to try to maybe solve the issue, it would be really helpful.   Or if anybody is experiencing the same problem, it would be good to know its not just my devices and Mac producing this sync problem.
I will update my post with any information provided by Apple Care as and when I get it.
Thanks for reading and thanks for your time.
    Mark.

    Hi,
Just wanted to updated my original post and give some more information on this issue that I'm having with my iOS devices running iOS 8.0.2 and iTunes 11.4.
Firstly I just want to updated my details about what version of Mavericks I'm running.  I'm running 10.9.5 - I put the wrong version down in my original post.
So over the last week, I have had a few phone calls with Apple Care an am dealing with a senior technical advisor about this issue.
I have been given some instructions that I am currently working through to see if it solves the sync issue with iTunes and my iOS devices.
The Apple Care advisor has pointed out that a iTunes version issue with music that I have ripped to iTunes and the current iTunes version could be what is causing the problem.  For example, every song that I have purchased from iTunes since having an account, I was told are all exactly the same the same when it comes down the to data/information about that track/album that iTunes stores with the music but when it comes to music that I have added to iTunes myself from a CD,  this was added and encoded with the version of iTunes that was running at the time of adding the music.  So going through all the music that I added to iTunes over the last 10 years, you can imaging that there was lots of mixed version of iTunes linked to lots of different music.
At the moment, I'm having to go through all my music and find any that I have added and create a new ACC version of that music and delete the old version.  However, due to the amount of music that I have, this is going to take a long time.  When I was on the phone to the Apple Care advisor, we did several albums as a test and they all synced over to my iPhone.  This may just have been luck though at that time.
Now, I'm not saying that this will solve the problem that I have with the sync issue but I am going to try it and see how I get on.  The only down side to this fix as far as I can see at the moment, is  that when it's all done, I think I will have to fully restore all my iOS devices to get music on to them.
I will of course updated this topic when I have got through all my music and tried to sync my iOS devices.
Thank you all for your comments.

  • Sync Issues with iPhone 4/4S? I think I've found the problem.

    Hello all!
I and quite a few others here have had syncing issues with our iPhone 4, and I think I've found a solution. I use an application called iToner 2 to create my ringtones, and after deleting all my iToner 2 created ringtones, I have no more sync issues.
If you are using any type of application that is designed to work with the iPhone and iTunes, I would suggest you not use it until it gets updated to work with iTunes 10.5 and iOS5.
    I hope this helps.
    Mike.
