IPhone sync problem Windows 7 64 bit

I have a PC running Windows 7 64 bit. I get error messages nearly every time I try to sync my iPhone 4. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 64 bit, latest version, but this does not solve the problem. iTunes is timing out my phone and will not sync. Any solutions? Am getting weary of going through an hour of this every day!
When my iPhone appears at all, I get a dialog box saying that another device has been synced to this computer. I am asked to restore from backup or install as a new device. Neither one works.
When/if iTunes does recognize myi iPhone, I get the error message "the iPhone [my phone name] cannot be synced. An error occurred while writing to the device.
My email and apps that come with the phone work OK, but any optional apps I installed will not open on the iPhone.
Please help.

For the record, I then followed the suggestion of MarcDCMB in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4291206 of just manually restarting the Apple Mobile Device service in Windows services.msc once each time after starting iTunes and the service no longer hogs CPU after that service restart.  Not too painful as a work-around, and apparently an effective one, but clearly not a solution to the problem.  Again, as above, all the other solutions didn't work for me and I have no conflicting software as far as I can tell. So you'd have to say this Apple's problem.
Also FTR, I am still on the 5.2.0.6 version of the Apple Mobile Device Support MSI and I don't know if that is relevant to this work-around working but my sense is that it is NOT relevant.  I'll report back on this thread if I re-upgrade and the problem returns in spite of the service-restart approach.

  • IPhone Syncing Problems (Windows Vista)

I've ran into a problem, where I can't sync any of my photos, i've seen problems but not like this, almost all the time when i sync my photos it gives me a blue screen error (windows vista) sometimes it will sync some of them but they arent viewable or even able to find on the phone, another problem im having is i have 3 computers and i cant sync my 3 librarys on my iphone i want all 3 to be the same any ideas... thanks,
    greg

    greg,
This article may help with your blue screens when you are trying to sync photos:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306048
Also, you can only sync to one computer at a time. Therefore, you will not be able to use the iPhone with 3 different libraries without erasing what's on the iPhone when you sync it with a new computer. You can find more information about syncing in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/7.3/en/2626win.html
If you want all 3 libraries to have the same content, you would need to copy the content on each computer to all the others. For more information on how to transfer your iTunes content to each computer, check out this article:

    Good luck!

  • IPhone Sync Problems with VISTA After iTunes Upgrade to 7.4

Upon upgrading to iTunes 7.4 I was unable to sync my Outlook calendar or contacts to the iPhone. Called Apple Support that they seemed to know nothing about this problem general problem despite all of the discussions on this and many other tech. boards.
After being told remove and reinstall iTunes and Outlook, set-up a new user account, etc... (none of which worked) I finally concluded that perhaps the .pst file being used by outlook was simply incompatible with iTunes for some reason (e.g. unsupported recurring calendar items).
SOLUTION: Create a new outlook .pst data file. Once created, open up that new file along with the defective .pst file. Then, simply change the view of calendars and contacts in your old calendar such that you can see all of the items in a list. Highlight the items you want to keep and simply click-and-drag them to the nes .pst file. This solves all of the sync. problems I had post-7.4 upgrade. It takes less than 3 minutes to complete this painless fix.
This was so annoying for me that I'd be happy to help someone complete this simple task if they need help. < Edited by Host, for your protection, no personal information please. >

  • IPhone sync problem with iCal and Address Book

I have a new iPhone 4 that is not syncing contacts or events. It doesn't seem to matter whether the event or contact is created in my iMac or on the iPhone. Either way, the data doesn't move. During the iPhone synch process, where iTunes tells you what is going on, syncing calendars and contacts doesn't even appear. When I had my iPod Touch, all worked well. I saw a post about resetting in iSync, etc., but when I look there, I don't even see my iPhone, and so far I can't add it. My only option there is to add a bluetooth device. So I need some help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Chuck

    You're welcome.
You can't hurt anything by resetting the sync history on your Mac, and doing so may resolve the problem.
Syncing contacts direct with a supported Address Book application and syncing calendar events direct with a supported Calendar app on your computer via the iTunes sync process has nothing to do with a MobileMe account - a trial account or otherwise. Completely separate and not related even if you are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone. If you are doing so with your iPhone, syncing direct with the Address Book and iCal via the iTunes sync process is not required.

  • IPhone sync problems with Windows 7 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and Outlook 2010. I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 with my Outlook calendar and contacs but am not able to do so. I have checked that I want to sync under the info tab in iTunes and I have the latest iTunes and the latest ios for the phone. Can someone tell me what I can do to get my contacts and calendar to sync with Outlook 2010?

"Try this connect the iPhone, let the mtp driver installation fail, then go into the device manager and uninstall the unknown mtp device. If you then scan for new hardware from the device manager it should recognize the iPhone & update the driver."
    Ok here's what I did:
    1) Connect the iPhone (iTunes had been installed)
    2) No MTP driver installation is happening as Windows detects iPhone successfully
    3) Open Device Manager
    4) There seems to be 2 drivers for iPhone that are active now, although I still can't see which one is the MPT driver you're referring to.
One of them sits under Portable Devices: "Apple iPhone". If I view the details of this driver, it lists the following files:
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\WUDFRd.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtp.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtpUS.dll
The other one sits under Universal Serial Bus controllers: "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". And as indicated by Joe above, it lists the following files when I view the Details:
    - C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbaapl64.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\usbaaplrc.dll

  • ITunes 64 bit  crashes during iphone sync  on windows 7

This was working fine a couple days ago - my guess is that one of the zillion MS patches killed it.  Now what?  I have uninstalled, re-installed, done all the Compatability checks, etc.  Tried installing the 32 bit version but the installer won't let me do that -- still crashes right at the start of music sync.  I'm afraid to turn off music sync for fear that all the music will be erased from the phone (assuming no crash).  Now what?

Well I guess this one is too hard for this group so I had to figure it out myself:  Here's the deal - there is a conflict between iTunes's crappy software and some other crappy software or service that was running on my XP system and is still running now that I have moved to W7.  See this article for the fix: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292  I simply turned everything off except iTunes stuff, re-booted and sync worked fine.  Put everything back where it was, re-booted and sync still works fine (mostly because the tunes it was failing on were already sync'd so . . .).
    There you have it.

  • New iphone syncing problems, causing itunes to crash

I just purchased a verizon iphone yesterday and am in the process of setting up the phone to my liking.  Because of the verizon service the phone came with ios 4.2.8 which I have now upgraded to 4.2.10.  The sync process goes fine as long as i am only syncing apps, contacts, updating software, etc... The problem comes when i attempt to sync music, photos, and videos.  The sync will clear the first few steps of the process fine but will then cause itunes to essentially become unresponsive and crash.  At this point I am given a message saying windows is looking for a solution to the problem. no solution is found and the only option i am given is to close the program.  Unfortunately there is no specific error message given.  Everytime i open itunes again after the crash it will begin to sync again, slowly make a little bit more progress then crash again.  I also have an ipad and an ipod that both still sync sucessfully and do not cause itunes to crash, so im assuming the problem might be with the phone.  I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of itunes, quicktimes, and other associated programs to no avail.  I have booted into recovery mode and completely started over with no luck.  Now im out of ideas on just what to do.  Any Thoughts?  I'm running windows 7 with the newest itunes and a verizon iphone with 4.2.10 fyi.
    Thanks

Ahhh man mine is the only discussion without any replies! Any help or suggestions welcome please!

  • IPhone SYNCING PROBLEMS

I've been having a problem like this for a while now. Before, I thought it was my old computer (PC). But, recently I got a MacBook Pro and the same problem still occurs. I would be thinking that the computer isn't the problem, but the phone itself. My problem is that whenever my iPhone is connected to my computer and attempts to sync, it would either get close to done with backing up or disconnect on its own without even starting the sync. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1. My iTunes is also up-to-date as well. I have also tried restarting iTunes, my computer, and the iPhone itself. None of these resolved the issue.

The driver is part of the iTunes installer, so it is best to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
    1) Open the 'Add/Remove Programs' window from the Control Panel
    2) Remove/Uninstall iTunes but do not immediately restart your computer.
    3) Remove/Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support if present
    4) Manually delete the OutlookSyncClient.dll file located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin if it is present
    5) Remove/Uninstall QuickTime.
    6) Restart your computer when prompted by the QuickTime uninstaller.
    7) Download and install the newest iTunes build (7.5.0.20) from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • IPhone sync on Windows XP - SyncServer keeps running after disconnect

When connecting iPhone to sync, after disconnect process SyncServer.exe continues to run using more and more memory. Eventually, system is at 100%. Only way to stop it is to run AVG virus scan. Anyone else encountered this problem? Don't want to try to sync phone until solved.

I am experiencing the same situation with Windows XP, but on a partitioned MacBook Pro with Windows XP on the bootlegged partition. I have narrowed it down to a function of iTunes and syncing, but when I put MobileMe into the mix it overwhelms my computer and gives me the error "SyncServer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and uses almost 90% of the processor as well.
I have uninstalled and installed iTunes and Mobile Me many times. My temporary fix, which is allowing me to "work" on the PC side is leaving the Mobile Me uninstalled.
    Anyone else have a solution?

  • ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.
    Help!

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.
    Good Luck!

  • HT1386 iphone syncing problems

I cannot figure out how to sync my laptop calendar to my iphone.
My itunes window says that my calendar is being synced with my iphone over the air, but it's not happening. I can't figure out how to do it manually.
It will sync all calendars that I am subscribed to, but not my icalendar that is on my MacBook Pro. I enter all my events on my laptop and need them to transfer to my phone. I used to be able to do it manually before I upgraded my iphone software. Help!

Additionally, I have now discovered that I don't have icloud on my MBP and that is probably why it won't sync.
Is there a way to delete icloud from my iphone and itunes account? I really don't want it and it used to work fine.
Otherwise, do I need to upgrade my Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8 to get icloud on my MBP?

  • IPhone sync problem

I have been experiencing a couple of irritating problems for some time.
I have a MobileMe account and have over air syncing set up for contacts, calendars, bookmarks & mail. This seems to work just fine for contacts & mail but...
When I connect my iPhone to my Power Mac (OS X 10.5.8) I get:
Syncing with iPhone will change more than 5% of your bookmarks on this computer
    Add 468, Modify 0, Delete 468
This happens every time I connect the iPhone via USB... Any idea why?!
Secondly, if I update my calendar on my iPhone it is reflected on my Power Mac but NOT on my Powerbook G4 (also OS X 10.5.8). I have tried resetting the data on the Powerbook by downloading from MobileMe but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
As a result I can't rely on my Powerbook calendar (or any MobileMe data for that matter) when I'm away from my desktop Power Mac.
I'd really appreciate some help, thanks

    Hi GnarlsEdmond,
This is usually caused by a problem with a contact in the list being corrupted. Check out this post for the solution:

  • IPhone sync with Windows Vista

    Hi,
My Outlook was syncing fine with my iphone until I was asked to change my password. When I did this, my mail wouldn't come in anymore. So I erased my account and tried to set it up again. Now I can't even connect to the server! It says my password is invalid even though it works fine with my work computer and webmail.
I heard that it will not sync because of a software issue between the iphone and Windows Vista server or something. Where can I get help for this??? I have no mails, contacts, or calendars. My IT department doesn't support iphone so they won't touch it, and the phone company has no idea also.

If all this changed after you had to change the password to access your server, then perhaps you are mistyping the password.
