Iphone sync with ical is 1 hour off?

What did i do wrong? both systems show the roper date and time but my appointments are all 1 hour off in ical?

bruce1964,
Are your Mac, go to the Date & Time preferences. Is it set to set date and time automatically, and pulling time information from Apple Americas/U.S. Time?
Is the Time Zone correct?
Hope this helps,

  • Why won't iPhone sync with iCal?

    Since downloading the most recent iPhone software update on Mon. 10/1/07, my iPhone won't sync with iCal on my MacBook. I get a "mingling data" error, and that's odd because the appointments that don't transfer to iPhone can be clearly listed in iCal. What happened with this latest update to create this?
    Thanx!

    Actually, my question is answered by myandrews response to Carl Jonsson's same problem dated Sep. 28, 2007.
    Thanx,

  • Add Event on iPhone, Syncs with iCal, Then Disappears on both.

    I've experienced this before and now it's just getting annoying. I use my iPhone a lot for it's calendar functionality. I add a ton of events through my iPhone, but occasionally, I do turn on my MacBook to look at my schedule using iCal. Doesn't happen everytime, but it does happen... where I sync the two apps and every item created within iCal is stored, but every item created on the iPhone deleted.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Folks,
    I'm still having the problem. Here's the description again:
    My iPhone is somehow synced with two computers -- an iMac and a Macbook Pro. I only want it synched with the iMac. Yet, every time I open iTunes on the Macbook, the iPhone appears. When I open iTunes on the iMac, the iPhone will also appear. But then during the synch process it begins to add back all the numerous apps I had turned off. This happens not matter whether I connect the iPhone via wifi or cable. If I turn off wifi synching in iTunes on the Macbook, when I open iTunes on the iMac, it is also turned off. It's as if they are the same program.
    Point of comparison: I have an iPod Touch. It is synched only with the iMac. It does not appear in iTunes on the MacBook.
    Another point of comparison: When I have my iPhone at work and open iTunes on my iMac in my office, the iPhone does not appear unless I connect it. It appears in iTunes, but it doesn't try to sync with my office machine. And there are no ill effects when I bring the phone home and connect it to my home iMac. But any time I open iTunes on the MacBook, the iPhone mounts. And when I connect it to my home iMac after that happens, it will install the removed apps if I have deleted them.
    My question: Is there a way to un-link the iPhone from the iTunes on the MacBook? Is there a command I can type in Terminal? Anything that can take it back to never having seen the iPhone before? I've selected and deselected all the preferences in MacBook's iTunes. And all it does it change the same preferences on the iMac's iTunes when the phone is connected. I'm at my wit's end here.
    This all began in February. I took my MacBook on the road and connected the iPhone to it to charge. I opened iTunes and I guess I must have somehow selected the command to synch the iPhone to the computer by mistake. (But I don't remember a warning window.)
    Again, any ideas will be appreciated.

    I don't think you can force the iPhone to overwrite iCal (though you can do the reverse). I even looked through MobileMe to see if you can do it, and found nothing.
    The only suggestion I have is if you have a backup of your Mac somewhere. If you use TimeMachine, you can get an older calendar out of User/Library/Calendar.
    Another thought, and this may work only if you have MobileMe, is to go into your MobileMe preferences on your Mac, click on Sync, Advanced, and reset Sync Data. Choose MobileMe to overwrite your Mac.
    These are my ideas. Hope they help.

  • How can I make my iPhone sync with iCal on my Mac and not with iCloud?

    I live and travel in Africa and wi-fi is frequently a luxury.  iCloud syncing between Mac and my iPhones (a 3GS & 4) is not possible but when I turn iClod off, it deletes the calendar on my Mac.  In another forum it was suggested that you export your various calendars (personal, business etc) to the desktop, log out of iCloud and therefore have your iCal calendar deleted, re-boot to clear anything in the cache, import the calendars which are then on My Mac and sync.  It worked all the way until the last bit.  Syncing the iPhone is clunkingly slow and it only syncs one of my calendars which is the only one that appears in the info dialogue box in iTunes when the iPhone is connected.  Can anyone help?  iCloud is I am sure fine for those who have regular access to wi-fi but not me - I will be happy to go back to my time capsule which has done me well over the years.
    Some advice please

    Plug yr iPhone to your compu in the old fashioned way with cable.
    Just to cover yourself...select the iPhone in Devices of left pane of iTunes window, then on main pane, select radio button Back up to Computer. Right click on the iPhone in devices, do a backup. It shld then be on your compu'.
    Then, back in main windo, select Info 'tab' from top of the right pane, and tick the Sync iCal events.
    I'm sure this will help.
    If it all goes pear-shape, u have the backup to restore the pre-sync device.

  • IPhone syncing with iCal

    I'm trying to understand why Apple wouldn't have iPhone tasks. I'm on the verge of buying 2.0 but have been waiting to hear the Apple did indeed add tasks and cut/past, neither of which happened. If I ignore possible workarounds like using memos or calendar for tasks, both of which are woefully inadequate, am I correct in assuming that at the near future the ONLY way that I can sync tasks with both iPhone and my Mac is to use OmniVision (they are preparing their own sync tool) or Things (which may be still in beta)? Is there any other hope, other that waiting to see what else may come out of SDK offerings?

  • Iphone sync with Ical

    Since the last OS update my iphone and ical do not sync.

    I found this on another discusion where events were syncing but never showing up in ical. Curious to knowifit will work for any of these issues. Let me know please.
    * Quit out of iCal if it's open
    * Delete this file:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
    (~ refers to your home directory.)
    * Open iCal
    * Wait about at least five minutes until after it finishes
    "Upgrading Calendars"
    Be sure to wait the full five minutes before moving on. If the events
    still don't appear after five minutes, then Apple Sync Services needs
    to be reset like this:
    * Quit out of iCal if it's open
    * Open iSync (in /Applications)
    * Go to preferences
    * Click Reset Sync History
    * Try syncing again
    * Open iCal and wait a few minutes

  • My iPhone calendar was empty after lion upgrade.  Why won't my iPhone sync with ical?

    After upgrading my imac to Lion and my iphone4 to OS5, my calendars won't sync and my iphone calendar was totally empty.  Why?

    Are you certain that the computer does not see the iPhone?  By default the iTunes Sidebar is off, so maybe turn Sidebar on and see if your iPhone is listed.
    Other questions:
    What OS was on your old computer and now the new one?
    Did you copy over your "iTunes Library.itl" file from the external drive to the new computer?

  • IPhone calendar will not sync with iCal on Mac

    Calendar entries on my iPhone 4S/iOS 5.1 will not sync with iCal on my MacBook Pro 2.4/10.6.8, but it will the other way around. I have tried:
    Restarting iPhone
    Re-setting sync services (holding down Option key and clicking on Sync icon in menu bar)
    Changing which calendar to sync with (iTunes 10.6.1)
    This may have something to do with having to do a complete Time Machine backup after a Volume Optimisation with Tech Tool Pro rendered my startup disk as un-bootable....???
    I do not use Mobile Me or iCloud (can't with Snow Leopard...) and it is a straight USB connection.
    I consider myself a medium expert, with no programming/Terminal skills whatsoever.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Manolis

    Thanks. There is another thread that shares a solution that involves deleting ical Library cache files and Preference files.  I"ll see if that works.  ICloud shouldn't be a factor in my case since I don't use it and it's "off" in Preferences. I am encouraged that I don't need to use it to fix this issue based on other's experiences, but we'll see!

  • With Update 1.1.3  iPhone no longer syncs with iCal

    I run Leopard on a MacBook Pro. After upgrading my iPhone to 1.1.3, iCal and the calendar on iPhone no longer syncs, at all. I brought this to the NYC Soho Apple Store, but the genius couldn't figure it out. Only the two default calendars "Home" and "Work" synced, although not every time. Help! What should I do now? Enter events twice? Once in the iPhone, since that's what I take with me, and once on iCal, since when restoring iPhone settings that's what's used? Many thanks!

    I'm not sure I understand what the problem is -- first you said it doesn't sync at all, and then you said that your Home and Work calendars sync intermittently.
    Personally, I would do several things:
    1) Make sure you are not using Entourage -- and if you are, make sure all Sync functions are unchecked in preferences so that nothing is using Mac's sync services and copying back and forth.
    2) Print out your calendars (use month view) for the entire year so that you have a backup.
    3) Do you need to have separate calendars? I find it ridiculous personally to have work and home and entourage calendars, and combine them into one. It's all my calendar information anyway, and it goes with me everywhere, why would I want more than one calendar....anyway....not to get off on a tangent...
    If you can do without two calendars, combine them all into one (you export one of them, then import it back into the other one, then delete the one your exported and imported. You can do a search for the help topic on how to combine calendars.
    Rename the one combined calendar your name, rather than home or work. Sync your iPhone. On the Info tab, make sure that you have the calendar name selected (it will recognize the new name of your calendar. Also make sure you have the sync to: Your Name calendar selected.
    4) If that does not work, I would totally delete all of my calendars from iCal - and sync (to erase all the calendar information from your iPhone).
    5) Create a new calendar, and manually re-enter all your calendar information. Sync new information to your iPhone.
    In reality -- I have no idea why you are having problems -- I also have 1.1.3 on my iPhone, and I also sync with iCal. I haven't had any problems -- but then I only have the one calendar.

  • IPhone 3GS calendar is no longer syncing with iCal

    iPhone 3GS calendar is no longer syncing with iCal since upgrade to Lion. No issues prior to upgrade. Ideas?

    I am having the same problem.  I have snow leopard and since I upgraded to itune 5.0, I have had nothing but problems.  In icloud, all of my events quadrupled which then caused all my ical events to do the same on my computer and phone. What a nightmare!  The apple support guy had never seen anything like it!  I have since cleaned up my calendar on both my phone and macbook, but now any event I add to my phone does not show up during sync.  I noticed that when I go into mail, contacts, calendars and then go into my gmail account, the calendar button is set to off. If i try to switch it on, I get a message asking what I would like to do with the local calendars on my phone.  I am afraid to do anything so I just cancel!  Any thoughts?  The calendar on my computer is current so I could always over write my phone during a sync--but still unsure.  Thanks

    Hi Jetjuice!
    I have an article that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further and can provide you with some more steps to take in attempting to resolve this issue:

  • Ical on iphone does not sync with ical on mac, but the mac does it!

    My ical on my iphone does not sync with ical on mac using MobileMe, but reverse it works very well.
    so typing an new event in ical on my phone will NOT appear in ical at my computer. Typing a new event on my mac, than within 10 seconds it appears on my phone.
    anybody know how to resolve this? never had the problem before
    problem 2: ical on my iphone seems to duplicate a lot of events. Non of them are duplicated on my computer.
    related problem?
    thank
    Hein

    I have solved my problem - don't know if yours is the same. I noticed on iPhone, when I listed the calendars there are two sections: the top line showed "All Calendars ->"; when I click on that I get duplicate entries for everything.
    Below that is:
    "From My Mac.
    "All from My Mac ->", followed by a list of individual calendars. When I clicked on that I got single entries.
    This led me to realize that in my Settings ->Accounts I had the old "...mac.com" a/c and new "..me.com" a/c. I had thought it didn't matter.
    Once I eliminated the "mac.com" A/c, I had only one set of calendars.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal.

    Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal on my Macbook Pro (Lion OSX). It works fine the other way around.
    I can't understand why, and cannot find a solution. Please help!

    You can no longer sync via iTunes. That method of sync was removed (and the 1000+ post thread is arguments over things tangientally related to that).
    You need to sync via other means than iTunes, then.
    One option is to use iCloud. If you sign into iCloud on all your devices, and then make sure your calendars are in the "iCloud" section on your devices, they should sync.
    If you don't want to use iCloud, you could use Google calendars, they operate much the same way (but may be less reliable).
    Or if you use Exchange for work, you could sync that way.
    Or if none of those are acceptable, you could install OS X Server and set up the calendar server on your local network and use it to sync. This is fairly straightforward "for setting up a UNIX calendar server" but it's not trivial and beyond the scope of a forum post to explain it all
