Iphone synced with another library, how can I transfer to new computer?

when I tried to sync my iphone, itunes music, with my new computer it said "the iphone is synced with another itunes library on VAIO. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this itunes library?" How can I transfer my music from iphone to new computer? I don't have my old computer no more.

The referenced article doesn't transfer playlists, last time played, etc. to the new computer. I want to essentially transfer my current environment to another computer.
Originally, my PC was underpowered but had large disks. So I imported my CD collection to my PC, but then ran iTunes from my laptop across the network.
My PC has since been upgraded, so I want to connect my iPod to iTunes on my PC instead of my laptop. I tried copying and editing the XML files, but it still didn't seem to use the desired configuration files. I'm guessing I have to do something with the Persistent ID key value, but I'm not sure what it wants.
Can anyone point me to something that will help me transfer a complete environment from one machine to another?

when i connect my phone to itunes,it says its synced with another library.how can i change this??

When you say erased, you mean almost like a restore is done to factory settings instead of just the media being erased?
I ask because the older phone is no longer available and they want to preserve their photos, etc.
Can I backup the phone on their computer, select erase and sync and then restore from that backup?

my computer crashed and I no longer have the itunes library. i get an error msg that my iphone 3g is synced to another library - how can I get the info from the phone to the itunes library without losing everything? How do I delete old audiobooks from my iphone?

You can transfer itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • "iphone synced with another library" it isn't; please help.

    Hi all
Tried to put a new CD onto my new iPhone 6 via iTunes.
Music moves over to Itunes no problem, but refuses to move to phone. Greyed out with a dashed circle to left of each track name.
Tried to move music manually; says "The iPhone “Andrew iPhone6” is synced with another iTunes library on “OFFICE-PC”. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
My office PC went 3 years ago; I've checked, and I only have my Mac authorised on my account.
PLEASE HELP. I'm going mental trying to figure this out!
I love Apple but am struggling to see how iTunes is intuitive. Everything else Apple is so simple, iTunes is utterly annoying & time consuming.
    PLEASE NOTE:
iMac running latest version of Yosemite....though interestingly it says "135122" where it should say Yosemite?? V10.10.2
Brand new iPhone 6 running latest IOS 8 version. (obviously never had it when I had my PC 3+ years ago)

The some computer glitch occurred and now iTunes thinks it was synced to another library.
    To resolve:
    - get all the synced media like apps and music in the iTunes library.
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup. The above link includes those instructions.

  • IPhone synced with another library..."Erase and Sync" question

I helped someone transfer from an older iPhone to an iPhone 6 and did an encrypted backup on my laptop and then restored that backup to their new phone.
When they took the phone home and tried to sync their library with it they got the following message:
"The iPhone ... is synced with another iTunes library on ...  Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
I understand what iTunes is referring to but what does "Erase and Sync" actually do?  Does it just erase any media i.e., songs, apps and videos and then resyncs them from the new library or does it completely wipe the phone and start from scratch?
    Thanks...

  • ITunes is telling me my iPad is synced to another library - how can this be?

Hopefully someone can help with this!
I just connected my iPad to my mac mini, opened iTunes, clicked "iPad", and then clicked "music".  I've been having issues with my playlists and was going to try to edit them this way.  iTunes wouldn't let me even see the music on my iPad, and instead gave me a sync option, followed by this message:
Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones from this iPad and sync with this iTunes library?
This is mystifying.  This computer is relatively new - bought it in February - but:
I synced my iPad to my mac mini just a few days ago, with no issues
I've backed my iPad up to this computer once already, so my library should be the same on both devices
I only have one apple id and only use one library
I've also noticed that all of my iTunes playlists have disappeared from my computer, but remain on my iPad - could these two things be connected?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your quick reply!
I just re-booted my computer and iPad, and re-transferred purchases from my iPad to my computer.
I'm getting the same error message.  I really don't want to take the risk and "erase" anything on my iPad, even if it should re-sync to the same place as it is now.
I bought some music this morning on my iPad, and it flowed to my computer without any issues, so the wi-fi sync seems to be working as it should, but my iTunes still seems to think I'm synced to another library.
I did notice that if I go to "on this iPad", I can see all of my music.  Maybe from now on I just skip the manual sync option.
This is very strange - is there any chance I could have been hacked?
Anyway, I'm about to start another discussion to find out what is going on with my playlists...

  • Itunes tells me ipod is all ready synced with another library how do I fix this?

My old computer crashed no way to get files. Got new computer now when I try to sync ipod it tells me my ipod can only be synced with one library. Tried deauthorizing all computers then authorizing new one still says the same thing. what can I do I have downloaded music but cannot sync it to ipod ?

"Got new computer now when I try to sync ipod it tells me my ipod can only be synced with one library."
This is true.  Ipod will sycn with one and only one library at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
This is one of the many reasons that always maintaining a backup copy of your computer has always been very basic.
You can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases.

  • Iphone synced with another library

I used to use a PC to sync my iPhone but recently but a MacBook.  Now when I try to sync my iPhone with the MacBook it says my iPhone is synced with another iTunes Library and if I continue everything on my phone will be erased and synced with the library that has nothing in it.  I have over 400 songs and don't want to lose them

If those songs were dowloaded from the iTunes store, you need to authorize your new computer to access your iTunes library.
If those songs came from another source, such as your private CD collection, you'll need to physically move them to your new computer.  Copy them from the old computer to an external drive and add them to the music library on the new computer.

  • I have a mac and my wife has her Iphone synced with another library.

When she hooks it up to the MAC it says it will erase in order to sync with my Itunes/Mac.  How does she use my computer to communicate with her phone without erasing it?

Depends on what she wants to do. You need to make sure that auto sync is turned off, then there are only a few things she can do with the iPhone and a different computer. The iPhone is desiged to sync with just a single computer. Is t here a reason she wants to connect to your computer?

  • How can I transfer to new computer?

I recently had my hard drive crash on me, and I am unable to retrieve anything from it. I have installed a new hard drive and iTunes software. I am trying to load the songs from my iPod to the new software, but it won't let me access my iPod without erasing everything on it. Any help is appreciated.

  • How can i transfer my new purchased itunes apps to my itunes library

actually having several problems, installed itunes on a new computer, have transfered/sync all of my existing ipod touch apps/music successfully. I purchased new apps and a movie, but they do not appear on my itunes library, how can i transfer these new purchases, to my new itunes library on the new computer, so they can be synced to my ipod touch. also, my computer is online and my ipod is online, but when i connect the ipod touch to my computer, and i try to update the software update, it says it cant because its not connected to the internet?...any info on either of these topics. thanks

    Welcome to the discussions,
as already mentioned, use File->transfer purchases to copy your apps and bought media to your computer, or right click on the device in the device list and choose "transfer purchases"
To make sure that iTunes can contact the Apple server, check your security settings as well: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125

  • Trying to add playlist to iPhone. The current music on my iPhone is synced with another library. How do I add my playlist without erasing all of the music currently on my iPhone?

Trying to add playlist to iPhone. The current music on my iPhone is synced with another library. How do I add my playlist without erasing all of the music currently on my iPhone?

iPhone is designed to sync with one computer only, if you sync with another, all your content will be erased and replaced by whatever is on that computer.

  • My iPhone is now saying it is synced with another library - despite me not changing my iPhone or iTunes since I last synced - related to downtime (2 June?)

I synced my iPhone a couple of days ago no problems, and I always 'manually manage' my stuff between iTunes and my iPhone 4.
Just now I plug in to drop a new album onto my phone, and the 'manually manage music and videos' box is unchecked (nobody else uses my machine, no other devices plugged into it) and when I check it, it tells me my iPhone is synced with another library.
The only thing I have changed that I can think of is my iTunes password - while working out what was causing the downtime yesterday (error 5002 with the store, etc.)
    Is it related?

I'm sorry, I am having a smilar problem and my contacts have already been deleted because of it. I recently reloaded my OS as my computer was having problems. I'm using Vista. I had to reload itunes and when I attempted to sync my phone it said my iphone was synced with another itunes library. I'm not sure if I messed up and created two apple ID's. When I log into apple and attempted to see if I had any other accounts it did not show any, but when I try the other name I thought I had used first, it said that account had been locked for security reasons. I actually hit the "accept" button by mistake and it deleted everything so I unplugged it really quick and all I lost was my contacts. How on earth do I fix this? I can plug my iphone in and sign on, but if I attempt to change anything it gives that same message.
    Thank you
    Brandy

  • "The iPhone is Synced with another library. Do you want to erase..."

My itunes library has a lot of music from my iPad. I want to move that music to my iPhone by managing my music "manually", but it says ""The iPhone is Synced with another library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
I read that I have to back it up, then go ahead and erase the phone, then you can add the music from the library to your phone. Is this true? Will it work?
I have backed up the phone to iCloud, but I'm worried still. How can I be SURE that I'll get everything back when I restore the phone after erasing it?
    Thanks!

I'm afraid the LU suffix is a new one on me.
As long as you have all of the content in your library then that remove and sync warning shouldn't cause any loss of data, but it shouldn't be happening every time. It may pay to take the following steps to reset the connection between the two,
    Backup device.
    Restore as a new device.
    Restore the backup made earlier.
Again, this assumes all content on the device is in your library. If that isn't the case see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device first.
