Iphone syncing 1 hour off?????????

I am trying to sync my calender with Outlook 2003 basic. All of my Outlook appointments are showing 1 hour later on my iphone and some of the iphone appointments are showing 1 hour early on Outlook. I am totally lost. I have checked time setting and what I think all of the basics should be and see no problems. Have also done some of the recommended resets with no results.

You really should use the search facility - there are dozens of posts on the subject and the broad conclusion is 'carrier confusion'. You almost certainly are not doing anything wrong, but the difference in interpretation between what is in which time zone etc seems to be causing it. Mostly in the US I should add as most other countries haven't shifted yet.

  • IPhone calendar sync two hours off from iCal - Can I fix?

I purchased an iPhone 3G today, this is my second one. Since my last phone, I now have a new MacBook Pro with iCal.
When I performed the Sync today, everything was fine except for the times in Calendar, which were two hours later on iPhone. The time zones were the problem, as the iPhone was set to Cupertino (Pacific) and the computer was set to Memphis (correct zone).
Now, I have corrected the time zones on both and I have performed a new Sync and checked the box to replace information from the calendars on the iPhone with the information from iCal.
However, the times are still off.
    1. Can I fix this issue?
    2. Can I delete the iPhone calendar entries as a whole and start over and re-Sync?
Thanks for the help. It's a minor issue, but it's pretty annoying and I have tried everything I know to fix it.

How bizarre. Mine is doing this too, except it's 3 hours off. I showed up to work 3 hours early because of this. Time zones are the same on my computer and my phone. I'm not sure what the deal is.

  • Outlook Calendar Syncs 1 Hour Off

    Hi there,
The title says it all. I'm trying to sync my Outlook Calendar to my iPhone, but the times are always 1 hour off. I've searched the forum and tried the "Time Zone Support Off" trick, but to no avail. If anyone can help me, I'd be much obliged-- I really need to get the calendar feature working.
Oh, and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.8

Thank you for responding. I had thought of that and they are both set correctly. The computer is set to EST with the adjust for daylight savings box option checked. The phone is set for set automatically
Which may not be the same - set them exactly the same.

  • ICal Syncing Wrong Times with Ipod Touch or iPhone - Everything 2 Hours Off

Every setting is uniform across all devices (timezones, etc) and yet iCal on my iPod touch or iPhone lists my scheduled events 2 hours earlier than what I inputed on my computer. The iCal calendar on Snow Leopard is correct, but my synced devices are not.
What gives? This is a HUUUGEEE issue for someone that uses their schedule book to get through each day. iCal is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE with this issue.

I have almost exactly the same problem. The ical on my macbook has the correct times, but on my ipod touch all events appear one hour earlier. Both devices are set to Geneva time, and the time displayed on them is the same.
This is really annoying as I am about to set off travelling, and was just going to take my touch for schedule - now I either have to pack my macbook or do everything the good old fashioned pen and paper way.
    Can anyone help?

  • Appointments sync 2 hours off

iCal ***** so bad in so many ways. I won't even get into the bizarre syncing issues that even the Genius Bar can't figure out. Right now my main problem is trying to sync appointments that actually show up at the correct time. For example, if I enter an appointment at 3pm on my laptop, then sync, it shows up as 1pm on my iPhone.
I recently moved - 2 hour time difference. I'm sure that's the problem. But my laptop and iPhone both show the same time. My laptop has the correct time zone in its settings and my iPhone, of course, uses localization and should know where I am.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
I've just figured out how to solve the problem!
Open 'Settings' on your iPod, then 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'. Scroll down to 'Calendars'. Open 'Time Zone Support'.(Make sure 'Time Zone Support' is 'ON'). Open 'Time Zone' and type in the city nearest to where you are. Make sure this is the same zone as your Mac. When you return to the iPod menu screen and open iCal there will be a short delay (spinning wheel) while the times are changed. The appointments should now show the correct time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Calendar dates synced one hour off

I exported the calendar/contact data from my Palm Pilot to my ICalendar on my Macbook. Then I synced the ICalendar to the Iphone. The result is that all my appointments show up on the Iphone one hour later than what they are supposed to be. I reset the Iphone and synced it again and the same problem showed up.

Thank you, this was the exact problem, as a friend of mine figured out last night. I have another problem now: I can't send email from my iphone. I checked the settings and they are the same, just as synced from the laptop. In addition, I closed the email on the laptop as I had learned previously that it does not allow them both to be open. But I still cannot send email for some reason...

  • ICal sync one hour off

    Hi
My MacBook Pro iCal events are all displaying as one hour earlier on my iphone. For example, something scheduled for noon on my MacBook Pro iCal appears to be scheduled for 11am on my iphone. I am syncing via MobileMe. Any suggestions?
    Doug

Check the time zones on each device.

  • 3g iphone syncs for hours while but never completes

I have a 3g iphone which indicates it is syncing but never completes. I have worked with the online support as well as my local genius office, with no luck in resolving these issues. I have deleted my bookmarks to see if that would resolve the problem with the syncing only to have the problem occurs while syncing the contacts. I am not getting any error messages.

If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • Appoints on iPhone are Five Hours Off

I am trying to sync my iPhone with my MacBook Pro. The appointments on Entourage and iCal are correct. However, they are shifted ahead five hours on my iPhone. In other words, an appointment that is scheduled for 8:00 a.m., shows up on my iPhone at 1:00 p.m.
I have tried resetting the sync history in iSync Preferences. That does not seem to have worked. I have also repaired permissions. In iCal, my calendars are ot showing up in the left-hand drawer. In fact, the appointments do not show up unless I click on the Week button, the Month button, and then back to the Week button.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

This is not a "bug", this is a "feature". While you are traveling, you have a choice of having your Calendar appointments show up in local time, or in the time of your time zone back home.
    To fix your issue:
    Go into iPhone/Settings/General/Date and Time
Make sure Time Zone Support is ON
Make sure Time Zone is not blank. It should be set to your city. If your city is not on the list, pick a large city that is within your preferred time zone.

  • Calendar syncing to phone off by 1 hour

when I sync my calendar to my iPhone, everything syncs 1 hour off. For example, I have a meeting today at 12:30pm. I confirmed that everything is accurate in my Calendar on my computer. When it syncs to my iPhone, it shows up in the iPhone Calendar as taking place at 11:30am. Everything I sync to the iPhone is off by one hour. This is a significant problem for me, as I always have to remind myself that the event is actually happening an hour later than my phone tells me. what is the problem?

    Joe Otoole,
Make sure your computer, and if you are using Exchange the Exchange Server, are not still set to use Daylight Savings.
The iPhone when set to Standard Time will adjust events loaded with Daylight Savings in their time settings back 1 hour.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • ICal and iPhone's calendar are off by 1 hour

Anyone else have this problem? The calendar on my computer is fine, but the one on my iphone is 1 hour off...

Just a thought - have you got both machines set for the same Time Zone?
iPhone - Settings : Date and Time : Time Zone
also, check the Calendar setting lower down.
Then check your MacBook's time zone setting too

    bruce1964,
Are your Mac, go to the Date & Time preferences. Is it set to set date and time automatically, and pulling time information from Apple Americas/U.S. Time?

  • IPhone entries 8 hours out of sync

    Hi
In my office we have an iCal calendars shared to a Yahoo account. All machines in the office can edit and change all shared calendars in a similar wya to Mobile me works. I also have all the office iPhones synced with the same calendars. Here is where my problem lies... When one of the iphone users enters a new event it appears on everybody elses machine with its time set 8 hours after the vent has happened. For example if he entered an event for 1pm today it would appear on all machines as if the event was happening at 9pm. Interestingly on his iphone it also appears at 9pm but when you clik on the entry to view further detials it shows that the meeting is from 1pm-2pm...???? Very odd. I originally noticed that the Time Zone Support on his phone was set to Cupertino but even after that has been changed to Dublin and the calenders deleted and resubscribed it still happens. Can anyone help...??? All other machine and iphones opperate correctly...!
    Thanks
    Richie

i am not saying it will take you back to the ios verison but your back up contain your ios that was the phone. When you restore a device it take the ios you have on the iphone for say the ios 6 you have and replace it with a new ios 6 download in case that was the problem. So if you restore a phone and then restore form a back you just pulled off ios 6 put a new copy on and then reinstalled the same ios 6 software you had on your phone. so you really did nothing to solve it because you ended up with the same software on the phone as you started with

  • Palm Desktop to iPhone/IPT--beware!!  DST, hour off!

I happily and easily transferred several years of Palm calendar entries to my iPod Touch 2g back in December. I've now discovered that, since the switch to daylight savings time, they are all off by one hour!
So, appointments for 1:40 are now 2:40, etc.
Fortunately, I received a call from a dentist's office to confirm an appointment-- and lo behold, my Clie/Palm had the time right, but the time was now an hour later in my IPT! Not good!
Not sure what the fix is here... but it's definitely something for everyone to watch out for.
Now, I'm going to have to double-check, scan all the calendar entries in iCal and see what needs to be changed.
I thought others might appreciate being alerted to this problem/issue!

Sadly, I don't think this will help. There seem to be issues with the way iCal interprets imported .ics file data and hands it off to the iPhone during an iTunes sync. So, appointments derived from another calendaring program (e.g. Outlook), exported from there and imported into iCal, show correctly in iCal but one hour off on the iPhone. This applies to appointments that were created prior to the DST time change; appointments created/exported/imported/synced after the time change are correct.
Further, it's specific to the iPhone sync since the appointments do display correctly in iCal. Naturally, I have correct settings for time zones, time zone support, etc. Further, this issue does not apply to appointments created directly in iCal.
There are also issues with the way iCal handles some imported data. I started a thread on this in the iCal forums some time back, but got no responses.

  • Ical appts. w/alerts are one hour off on iphone - how to fix?

when I create an appointment in ical, it syncs fine with iphone, but the alert (and the appointment) are set for one hour later than what they are set for in ical. The timezone on both is accurate...Any ideas?

    Thx Bernard,
    You are very helpful
When you went through the steps, were any of the settings different to those that I suggested?
......Yes, Time zone was uncheck in iCal and MM
I don't think you mentioned importing previously. Where are the events originally created?
.....I have a large spreadsheet of college athletic games that we keep in Excel and I import to iCal, they are ALWAYS one hour off after imported to iCal. Long before iPhone and MM too!
I don't see that MobileMe is especially different to dotmac - except that you now have explicit control over the time zone of the calendar (whereas it used to be set to the one from which you originally published).
...Honestly the TZ Support is a HUGE pain and causes Much more trouble for all than anything it is suppose to help with..., been that way ever since iCal came out...
One hour time differences often crop-up on a phone and are usually to do with daylight savings issues, but you don't mention a phone in your set-up so I am assuming this is not the case.
...again this one hour problem, has been an issue for me long before the iPhone and MM...
I have to say that I don't have issues with my calendars and I have these synced across different systems and devices, so for me it really is a non-issue. (I should also say that I travel frequently and don't have problems with events in multiple time zones either.)
...glad it works for you, but it appears this is an issue for many. I used Now Up-To-Date for 10+ years and NEVER had trouble with import/export/sync...
One thing I neglected to ask you is whether you do need to have time zone support - i.e. do you travel with any of the macs to which you sync or do you get invitations that originate in different time zones?
...I have no need for TZ Support even if I were and astronaut
It would also be enormously helpful if you would provide data on what version of OS X and iCal you are using.
    ....I am on 10.5.5 and iCal 3.0.5
    Thx Much
