IPhone taking FOREVER to sync !

I understand that there are a lot of threads on this subject, but come on ! I synced everything except music to see if it helps. Then when I start to sync, it takes approximately 25- 30 seconds per song to sync. They are MP3's ! I used to put 1,000 songs on an old mp3 player in just a few minutes. At this rate, to put my approx. 1,200 songs that I want on my iPhone,,,,,will take hours. This is nuts.

The solution to the iPhone sync problems is actually quite simple. The problem cause long sync times is that you have data in the iPhone. This includes Pod-casts, Music, Apps and the like. All you need to do is delete all of this stuff and the iphone will sync immediately

  • Trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

I'm trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

At what stage it is freezing?
There are six steps or so.
Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I won't tell you to reinstall Vista. How about dual booting with XP that you probably had before. Then run iTunes in XP.

Same problem and there appears to be multitudes of us out there who are having sync problems with the latest iTunes update. You would think Tech Support would be on this.

  • IPhone 4S taking forever to sync after iOS 7 update

My iPhone 4S is taking forever to completely sync the back up after updating to the new iOS 7 operating system. It's stuck in step 6 of 6 'waiting for items to copy'. Please help!

I was having this same problem with iPhone 5 with the latest version of iOS 7 and iTunes.  It was just taking forever on the 'waiting for items to copy' step.
I disabled Genius on my iTunes setup, and immediately it resumed and completed that step.  Seems like it was waiting for Genius results that weren't there, or weren't available.
I have a large iTunes library and still like to manually manage the music on my iPhone.
I guess I'll live without Genius until Apple can fix this.
iTunes Genius can cause manual sync of music to iPhone to hang for a long time.

  • IPad and iTunes taking forever to sync out of the blue

My iPad synced in 'normal' time, just under 10 minutes, yesterday. Today, the syncing is taking forever! Appears that a completely new backup was done, and now it barely moves. I did not download anything to iPad between these syncs. I used it, charged it, and shut it down and restarted it. Any suggestions?

    HI...
In the iTunes window with the Summary tab selected, check the bottom of that window to make sure there's enough free space available.
If there's enough space, check out the information here for managing content manually.

  • IPhone taking forever to backup during each sync since 2.0

So when I plug into sync it used to take about a minute to do everything, I could unplug and go. Now every time I plug it in it says "Backing up "my phone"" for about 15 minutes?? Anyone else experiencing this?

Backups will also be slowed down if there have been a bunch of crashes (apps or system) on your iPhone. The Backup is transferring all the crash reports to the Mac and then to Apple.
Way back when a dialog came up telling you it was doing this along with a box (already checked for you) saying "Don't Show This Again".
If you want to see if this is your issue, then connect the iPhone to your Mac, fire up iTunes if necessary, right-click on the iPhone device line in the column on the left and select "Reset iPhone Warnings" from the pop up menu. The next time you sync the iPhone, if there is a crash report to Backup and transmit to Apple that dialog will pop up again telling you that's the case. Be sure to clear the "Don't Show This Again" check box each time to make sure you see this dialog when crash reports are being transferred from the iPhone.
You can also look in the Console utility application in the Crash Report section to see the collection of crash reports that have been brought in to date from your iPhone.

  • Iphone taking forever to backup

Can anyone tell me why my iphone 3G is taking up to 8hrs or longer to backup?

woah woah woah, i thought all iphones took 10 - 24hrs to back up! I've had several generations and they've taken longer and longer as I've owned them.
I have a brand new high end PC since I've also upgraded computers over the years of owning iPhones, and each PC, even this blazing new one takes forever to back up the iPhone.
Right now my 3GS 32GB is backing up and its been going 12hrs, only 40-something% through. I started to look into this and found some information in the task manager of Windows 7 where it shows you the detailed processes that are happening. It looks like the only thing that's active is from 2 - 6 Mbps of "Network I/O" activity using the Apple backup process! What??
I looked at the actual data on the Ethernet port and there is 0 data moving around, so its definitely the backup for some reason using a network IO to send data to the PC.
Can someone fix this problem? My iPhone has now activated my morning alarm, and there's no way to turn it off, just "snooze" plus my screen has been on all night from the backup. I feel backups may actually kill my iphone and drive me insane.

  • Iphone takes forever to sync

My iphone takes about an hour or more to sync usually. It stays on "syncing contacts with 'Iphone'", mail accounts, and calendars for like 20-30 minutes a piece. My guess is because of my .pst file being so large. (10gb) yes i know it's huge, but i need most of everything in there for business. Is this what would be causing it to go so slowly? or is it just slow on vista? (or vista 64-bit)

    Check this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
The syncing of contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks is bidirectional with the iPhone and the supported applications on your computer - by the definition of syncing.
The process is called syncing with iTunes but not all data is synced by the definition of syncing. Some data - such as iTunes content and pictures transferred from your computer to your iPhone is a data transfer process only as part of the sync process. Contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks are kept synchronized.

  • Taking FOREVER to sync contacts and calendar with 3G, Itunes8, Leopard

I recently switched from the original iPhone to the 3G model. No problems. Happy with the phone. I also recently "upgraded" to iTunes 8.0. Not happy.
I have about 500 contacts on my computer (running iCal and MS Entourage) and hundreds of appointments in my calendar. It used to take maybe 10 min to sync my phone and macbook pro. now it has been running 45 min and is STILL synching the calendar.
what the heck is going on? anyone else having this problem? Also, I recently (yesterday) upgraded to 10.5.5 but this was happening on 10.5.4 also.
I'm stumped, and I haven't got time to look at this stupid "synch" message all day.
    thanks
    dc

Any way I can sync contacts and calendar between the imac and laptop on the same home network without using icloud
Not unless you upgrade the iMac to Lion v10.7.2 first.

  • Photos taking Forever to syncing

I have the Iphone 4 and the lastest version update 5.1.1
Okay I just resore my phone about 2 hours ago or so and i have everything back except MOST of my photos. I am really frustrated right now because i had over 1,000 photos and only 47 were synced but the rest arent. Why is it doing this?

Hide your Libraries in a (temporary) new folder, then launch FCP X. If it creates a new Library, and launches OK, you probably have corrupted media or render files in one or more existing Libraries.
Quit the application, and drag one Library back to its original position and launch FCP X again. If that opens, repeat the process until you find the faulty Library.
If FCP X doesn't launch when there are no existing Libraries, Uninstall it following Apple's instructions and reinstall it from the App Store (using the same login that the app was bought with).

Also, seperate note - how do I add a movie project from one library to another library?
You can COPY a Project to an Event in another Library by clicking on the Project and dragging it, or you can MOVE the Project to an Event in another Library by dragging (as above) but pressing the Cmd button a moment before you release the mouse to drop the Project into the new Event.
When you release the mouse, a window will appear telling you what's going to happen - if it's not what you want, you did it wrong.

  • Upgraded to Aperture 3.1, taking forever to sync MobileMe galleries

Just upgraded to Aperture 3.1 a couple days ago. After the images in my library were updated, Aperture was taken over by attempts to sync and retrieve MobileMe gallery images.
All my MobileMe albums try to update over a DSL line and it's just crawling. Tried to just kill off the galleries, to no avail.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a work-around? Kind of crazy to have Aperture be taken over on upgrade with no possibility to simply cancel the updates.
    Steve

    Yes me too!
I'm losing a lot of confidence in why I pay anything for mobileme, more on that elsewhere.
Aperture / Preferences is inaccessible because when Preferences is opened it is stuck under the web tab with mobileme and the rotating disk of ****.
Activity monitor reports Aperture is not responding.
Force quit and restarted many times.
I am willing to discard mobileme all together even though I just got billed for my annual subscription to get Aperture back to normal.

  • Iphone taking FOREVER to restore

ive been trying to update my iphone for 2 days now, where this keeps constantly happening to me. it stays at this point for periods over 8 hours long. ive tried redownloading the firmware, restarting my laptop and putting it into dfu mode before hand as well.

Try a different computer. If that still does not work try one of your friends computers. That issue is normally caused by ether a slow Internet connection or a slow computer. But because the iPhone can still communicate to apple it does not give an error message

  • Nano taking forever to sync

I plugged in my brand new Nano last night, and after 8 hours it had only synced one song out of 2500. I don't have eight years to wait for this process. What's wrong?

Many people have been experiencing sync issues since upgrading to 7, and it's not just a mini problem (my own 30gb 5G is slower than it was. Have you been able to complete a full sync yet? If not, the first is always the longest so it might be worth having a little patience and leaving it for a while (mine took ~1.5 hours, it's now down to 4-5 minutes). If not have you tried reinstalling iTunes?
