IPhone Think's I'm in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Hey there, I've got an iPhone 3GS with some location problems - it seems many other people in Belfast have the same problem!
When acquiring location data my iPhone think it is in Newcastle Upon Tyne where in reality it is in Belfast!
It happens using 3G or using a wireless router!

how do i know if it's unlocked? i mean, i got it from the verizon store...not sure if that limits me or not.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

My iphone thinks my adapter is still plug in so I can't hear anything.

I bought an adapter so i can use my own headphones for my iphone. after i take this thing out my iphone thinks its still plug in so the speakers don't work. when i tried to call somebody i can't hear anything.

I'm hoping we get overnight shipping for the HTC Trophy. Looking at their website, quite a few of their newer phones come with free overnight shipping. If you do order on Thursday and it is 2-day shipping, in theory you might be able to get it Saturday. I'm really hoping for overnight. I'm going to be going out of town this coming weekend. Either way though, I'm going to have it shipped to my work so I don't have to worry about a signature or it being left outside.

Iphone thinks im in china.Ive updated my apple id on the internet, double checked it even. But when I go to the app store on my iphone it tells me my payment information needs to be updated. I have credit card information that is not mine, saved into my phone.
Then is says my country/region is China. I am from Indiana.
When I go to update the credit card, it says my address needs to fixed.
When I go to my address, it wont let me choose United States until my billing is fixed.
It worked fine for about a month.
Now this might be the stupidest phone Ive ever had.

Have you got this sorted? If so, how? I have the same problem!!! :/

Why does my iPhone think I am in California?

People, Could someone shed a little light here?
I, along with many of you had to suffer the frustration and upset at how yesterday was handled. I finally got sorted out latelast night and have been enjoying the App store ever since. Everything is fine with my phone and have synced a number of times since 2.0.
But, why does my iphone think I am in California, right now (12:06 GMT) my phone is reading 04:06 Sat 12th. I am not in California, I am just outside London, and it is not some dark hour in the middle of the night, there is much light outside...
I do however have the time in time setting for London, this is, of course correct, but when I sync with itunes the time does not update? Is Apple trying to control time now? Anyone with an idea of what to do short of trying a full restore?

Liam, that is a strange problem.... may be a silly question... have you checked in your iphone preferences, then under General, the Date and Time?
Do you have it set to Set Automatically? if not, do so... if you do, turn it off and see what city/time zone is set for you.
I'm not sure if this data is setup from the computer or your cell network. Most cell phone date and times are setup over the air.

It's a seriously bad idea to post your email address and phone number - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove them. No-one is going to phone or email you. This is a user-to-user forum and no-one here can take any actual action to help you.
If the phone is locked to a particular carrier only they can unlock it. You would have to contact Telstra and ask whether the phone is locked to them and if so whether they are willing to unlock it - they may not be. Apple can't do it for you.
If your phone is asking for your Apple ID does it do so by giving part of an Apple ID? Is the ID in question yours? Did you buy this phone new or second-hand? Please quote exactly any error messages you are getting.

I restored a backup from my ipod to my iphone, now my iphone thinks it's my ipod

When I got an iPhone 5, I restored a backup from my iPod 5 over the top of the iPhone.
Now my iPhone thinks it's my iPod.
Really, my only problem is when I use iMessages through my iPhone to my iPod, I get the message on the iPod but also right back on the iPhone like it's an incoming message.
Any ideas?

If you go to Settings -> Messages, you should see a list of addresses under "You can be reached by iMessage at." Uncheck the email address that the iPod uses and you should stop getting those iPod-only messages.
While you're there, also check the "start new conversations from" on the iPhone and make sure it's your number. That setting has a tendency to shift to an email address after a restore, which might be exacerbating the situation
(While you're still there, Settings -> General -> About -> Name to rename the iPhone to something besides the iPod's name!)

*I've bought the iPhone recently and till the first month it was working fine THEN...my SPEAKERS were not working, as in- if i turn on a song there wont be audio but my phone would think that there is...or if I get a call i would only hear my iPhone vibrate :s... I tried googling the problem and what i found was threads/questions about iphones thinking the headphones are still attached even though their not.*
*So it was a very weird error i thought it would go away with time but it didnt, so today i got fed up and decided to do something about it.... i always leave the "go to the apple store" as a last option... I saw a tutorial online that by applying windex (cleaning spray thingy) on a peace of ear stick and sticking it inside the iphone (where we place the headphones) it would clean it up and my iphone would be back to normal*
BUT....
it wasn't as a matter of fact, now my iphone says that the speakers are still attached, again i've tried googling it and i got the whole "stick in the speakers and stick them out reallll fast a couple of times -I tried that but it didnt work..) Now, i don't know if should be happier or sadder? i mean, sure its still a problem but atleast it's more common!
So im terribly sorry for the long message but i wanted to get everything out there (this is my first time to use these forums, i strongly hope i'm using it right? ).

hold the phone upside down, plug in our ear buds, unplug.
rinse and repeat with the plugging in and unplugging about 10-15 times.
this should fix it.

Iphone thinks I am 74 miles away

I don't know why, but my iphone thinks I am 74 miles away from where I am. Tom Tom doesn't know and Google Maps thinks I am far far away. Yesterday my Red Box app wouldn't allow gps to work either. I am on the first floor or a one story building on a college campus in Iowa. So building interference shouldn't be an issue. Any ideas?

There's another post on a similar topic with people in Boulder, Co beings shown in California.
The GPS uses cell towers for an initial reference and it appears AT&T have some issues - you are probably affected similarly.

IPhone thinks accessory is attached

My iPhone thinks that an accessory is attached. I have reset the phone and have cleaned the dock connector with a dry paintbrush. Please help.

I am having the same problem. The stupid thing turns itself on every ten minutes to tell me that the accessory is not supported when nothing is even plugged in!! This wastes a lot of battery time so I want to figure this out. I have replaced the screen twice and I have checked the contact point where the plug for the dock connector plugs into the main circuit board. It always seemed connected well. The problem has been happening since then though. I feel that if the connector had come loose then it would simply think nothing was plugged in. The iPhone, however, works flawlessly when accessories are plugged in, and it always syncs just fine. Current diagnosis is that my iPhone has a brain tumor.

Itunes wont read iphone, thinks it's a digital camera...help

I dont know what happened, but when I first got my PC with vista 64, and had itunes installed with the iphone, everything worked. 3 days ago I reformatted my drives and reinstall windows and all my programs. I got itunes working with all my music and whatnot, but when I plug my iphone in to toss music on it, itunes wont read it. Windows knows it's there, but everytime I plug it in, the lower right hand corner the "windows is installing new driver blah blah" pops up, and then get an error message saying it couldnt install the driver. I go to device manager and windows thinks it's a digital camera. I did the whole update driver with the "c:\windows\system32\drivestore\usbaapl_" thing, and I got this message:
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
(usb icon) Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
The system cannot find the file specified."
I have been googling the crap out of this and I am at wit's end with this. I've uninstalled/reinstalled itunes, cleaned registry, wiped all apple programs from the PC, anything google told me to, hahaha. Serious, I cant find any forum or web article to help me past this point. Please help...

I think I got it. I've had the same problem as you and many others. I went to device manager and found iPhone under imaging devices. Here's what I did:
Right-click -> properties -> driver tab -> update drivers (launches Hardware Update Wizard) select...
No, not this time (next) Install from a list ... (next) Don't search ... (next) Now there should be two choices under model. Select the Apple Mobile Device. This is not digitally signed so you'll get warnings but continue. When I did this iTunes picked up my iPhone right away.
